- "This strange creature was created as a result of a mad alchemist's plant experiments. He uses his tooth-filled maw to snap at anything that gets in his way as he hops about."
- — The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past manual
Snap Dragons are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series.
Appearances[]
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[]

Snap Dragons are found in the Dark World and usually roam freely, never appearing in dungeons. Their only form of attack is randomly running diagonally, attempting to bump into Link. Snap Dragons resemble large dragon-like mouths full of sharp teeth, opening and closing as they run. Their mouths make up most of their body, aside from their feet and leaves.
According to the game's instruction manual, Snap Dragons were created during a Mad Alchemist's plant experiment.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[]
Snap Dragons act similar to their A Link to the Past counterparts. Found in Lorule, they attempt to damage Link by running into him.
Etymology[]
Snap Dragons are likely named after Antirrhinum, a genus of plants commonly known as "snapdragons".
