- "This large, glow-in-the-dark snail lives in fresh water. When cooked into a dish, it heightens your senses so you can move about silently."
- — In-game description
The Sneaky River Snail is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a curative item that restores one Heart Container. Link can use them in Cooking to create "Sneaky" food dishes which increase Link's stealth. It can also be used to make Sneaky River Escargot by Roasting it with fire or volcanic temperatures or Frozen River Snail by freezing it by dropping it in cold water or exposing it to extreme cold. Despite being native to rivers and freshwater, they are still considered seafood as they can be used to create seafood-based dishes such as Creamy Seafood Soup or Seafood Skewer. Fifteen are required to upgrade the Stealth Mask, Chest Guard and Tights set.
Locations[]
Sneaky River Snails are commonly on riverbanks, ponds, or other areas of freshwater in West Necluda and Lanayru Great Spring. Like most "Sneaky" cooking ingredients, Sneaky River Snails glow-in-the-dark at night, making nighttime the ideal time to hunt for them as they are harder to spot during the day. Three River Snails spawn in a small pond near Olkin's Pumpkins in Kakariko Village while one occasionally spawns in the water next to the village's Goddess Statue. Link can also find several Sneaky River Snail in Zora's Domain in the area underneath the throne room in the pools where the Zora sleep at night. At Deya Lake, up to five at a time can be found inside of the shallow wells.
