Ta'loh Naeg Shrine is a Shrine from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. This Shrine is located in the region of West Necluda near Kakariko Village. The Sheikah Monk Ta'loh Naeg offers a trial and he will give a Spirit Orb to Link upon completion of the trial.

Ta'loh Naeg's Teachings[]

In order to complete the trial, all Link has to do is learn and correctly execute Ta'loh Naeg's teachings. This is initiated as soon as the Champion approaches the pedestal and a Guardian Scout appears, armed with naught but a Guardian Sword. Until the teachings are completed, this Guardian Scout is unable to be destroyed by mere attacks.

Ta'loh Naeg's voice then instructs Link on using a side hop to dodge the attack, thereby leaving the Guardian Scout open to a counterattack. Once Link executes this maneuver perfectly, Link can then counter the attack with a Flurry Rush.

The next lesson Ta'loh Naeg teaches Link is how to perform a backflip in order to get out of the way of an attack. The Guardian Scout uses horizontal slices until the backflip is performed successfully.

Ta'loh Naeg then teaches Link that he can Perfect Guard an attack with his shield in order to negate it and then attack with the opening it creates. The Guardian Scout then starts using vertical slices like in the side hop lesson, and after Link deflects the attack with this move,

Link's final lesson from Ta'loh Naeg is that he can damage his enemy by performing a Spin Attack by building up his power and then releasing it. The Guardian Scout reverts to horizontal slices again, and after Link uses a Spin Attack, the Guardian Scout finally explodes from the damage it sustained in the lessons and he can pick up the Guardian Sword it left behind.

Ta'loh Naeg then congratulates Link, opens the way to his room, and Link then obtains a Spirit Orb from the Sheikah Monk.
