Bellum Translation[]

The term 魔神/Majin describes a type of magical creature, demon god, demon spirit, demon being, or something that is possessed or Demonic. Bellum isn't a devil or a demon god, but actually a Demonic Phantom Being. 魔/Ma, 神/Jin, and 無限/Mugen are Kanji words and Mugan means Phantom, Infinity, or Dreamy but separated have different meanings, 無/Mu means Nothing, Free, or Non and 限/Gen means Limited, Restricted, or Maxed. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 18:43, September 4, 2012 (UTC)

We can't just take word on things like translations, anything could be wrong and anything could be right. Sources are wonderful. – Jazzi (talk) 20:42, September 4, 2012 (UTC)
I don't use translators unless it's reliable, I have a friend who knows Japanese and subs Anime episodes. I also have Hiragana Charts, Katakana Charts, and Kanji Charts. Heres some sources, I can find more if you need anymore.

What you are not understanding in this case, is that there needs to be a discussion when there is a case like this. And since I don't work with languages, I can't help you here. There needs to be a discussion. You can not toss in edits like this (language) without sources. You need to have a discussion. Do not undo the edit until there is a discussion. Thank you, —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jäzzi (talkcontribs)

The only thing you asked for at that time in momment where *Sources*, so when will the discussion start? --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 12:56, September 6, 2012 (UTC)
I am aware that I asked for sources, I expected a discussion to start. You'll have to take care of the discussion as I'm in school at this point in time and will be for five more hours. – Jazzi (talk) 13:15, September 6, 2012 (UTC)
I understand then, ;D, I will wait patiently for your return. If you need a discussion another time and are busy, we can just post pone the discussion and talk about when you have more free time. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 13:19, September 6, 2012 (UTC)

Bellum Translation Discussion[]

Heres some sources that prove my translation *Demonic Phantom Being Bellum* is accurate.

Jin/Being or Super Natural Being: http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?codepoint=795E

Ma/Demon or Demonic: http://www.unicode.org/cgi-bin/GetUnihanData.pl?codepoint=9B54, http://jisho.org/kanji/details/%E9%AD%94

Mugen/Infinity, Phantom/Phantasmagorical or Nothing: http://japanese.about.com/bl50kanji7_mugen.htm, http://www.orientaloutpost.com/shufa.php?type=calligraphy&q=This+is+the+Chinese+and+Japanese+word+meaning+infinity%2C+unlimited+or+unbounded., http://www.romajidesu.com/dictionary/meaning-of-むげん.html

If theres anyone who wants to discuss this, this topic is open for it, however, if I recieve no reply within a week and a half, I am allowed to assume that no one objects and I can perform the change. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 12:23, September 8, 2012 (UTC)

"I am allowed to assume that no one objects and I can perform the change." No. You're not. If there's no response, you do not go through and change it. – Jazzi (talk) 13:44, September 8, 2012 (UTC)
Then how will I know whether or not if anyones going to answer if I don't get any feedback for the discussion? I provided reliable sources and I do know a some Japanese, enough Japanese to translate words still. Then what do I do if no one replies, just asking because I'm just trying to pitch in and help others for the sake of knowledge? Besides, I didn't see any discussion for the previous translation, just saying. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 14:45, September 8, 2012 (UTC)
If you want a source then provide evidence on the Japanese characters used in the game's text. Who say the English version is a direct translation from the Japanese version? Back translating the name doesn't seem very logical because of that. --Birdman5589 (talk) 15:45, September 8, 2012 (UTC)
From the Japanese version, say, thats not a bad idea, I'l try and probably get a screen shot and translate it then. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 15:56, September 8, 2012 (UTC) --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 12:12, September 9, 2012 (UTC)

Bellum Translation Photo[]

I got a photo from the Japanese version of Phantom Hourglass, this is a photo of Bellum before you fight him and the Boss's Title is shown. I translated the title, so what now Birdman5589. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 23:43, September 10, 2012 (UTC)

Japanese Screen Shot of Bellum before you fight him!

Japanese Screen Shot of Bellum before you fight him!

Now would be a good time to get the person who posted the original translation involved in this discussion. I saved you the hassle of looking through the edit history and found Yatanogarasu added the Japanese. --Birdman5589 (talk) 12:42, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
Got it, thank you for everything, Birdman. --Vaati the Wind Demon (talk) 13:47, September 11, 2012 (UTC)
I found an offical translation of the word, *Majin*, devil isn't part of it, so I think a change is necessary seeing as how the link provided is from an official Japanese website, the translation should be *Demonic Phantom Being: Bellum*. http://dic.search.yahoo.co.jp/dsearch?p=魔神&dic_id=ejje&stype=prefix&b=1, http://kotobank.jp/jeword/%E9%AD%94%E7%A5%9E?dic=pje3&oid=SPJE04130200, and http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%E9%AD%94%E7%A5%9E. --Vaati the Wind Demon Vaati Jigglypuff. 19:02, November 29, 2013 (UTC)
