Can the odd potion be in fact a zeldaesque antidepressant? That is my little personal theory. The potion shop granny says "No potion can cure a fool but this is the strongest potion I've got" clearly indicates that it has to do with mental illness plus Grog is obviously depressive or at the very least, misanthrope.

Well that is sort of random, but it makes sense I guess. You might be right

"Fool" doesn't always (or almost ever) denote insanity. The guy's just emo. Which is strange; you'd have to imagine his haircut should look the part.
Yes, the reason that I am in fact discussing this rationally rather than laughing is a good sign. I think.

Hmm... AK must have taken some of that odd potion. Anyway, like AK said, "fool" doesn't mean "mental illness."
Hmmm, yeah "fool" doesn't always mean mental illness in the medical sense, but why would the old lady call Grog a fool and then give him a medicine about that? What other kind of "foolness" can be cured by a medicine? What else seems to be wrong about Grog that can be cured by a medicine?
Reading too much into something...the bread and butter of any Zelda fan.
something she said strikes me as strange. "But it will not work on a monster". maybe it was used to prevent grog turning into a stalfos but link didnt get there in time. OniDark Link 22:41, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Odd Poultice[]
Well, I'm currently doing Biggoron's Sword quest, and just got the Odd Potion, which I thought was actually the odd medicine, but it's titled "Odd Poultice" in the game. I'm in the U.S so it's probably not the region difference. But I told Minish and he said "Maybe it is, you know / If it's called the Odd Poultice / We should add this to the page / And obviously create a redirect." so I created this section because I didn't want to jump the gun. So, yeah, thoughts? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jäzzi (talk • contribs)
[1] text dump does not lie. I see no Odd Poultice there. Where is it called this in your version? The text upon receiving/giving it, by the character who gives it to you or on the start screen? OniDark Link 16:30, June 21, 2011 (UTC)
Really should've specified what version I was using. I'm currently playing through Ocarina of Time 3D, which is where it mentions Odd Poultice. She tells me to take the Odd Poultice, start screen says Odd Poultice. "You received an Odd Potion! / It may be useful for something... / Hurry to the Lost Woods! / You returned the Odd Potion / and got the Poacher's Saw! / The young punk guy must have / left this behind." is what the U.S text dump says, and says nothing about a poultice. So if this is new in the game, it should probably be mentioned somewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jäzzi (talk • contribs)
