I don't think the slingshot is required to defeat her, but I'm not sure about it. The reason I'm bringing this up is because on the Bongo Bongo page, it says "This is one of the three bosses in the game where the usage of the temple's treasure, the Hover Boots, is not strictly required (one being King Dodongo since you can use the Bomb Flowers instead of your own Bombs and the other being Phantom Ganon since you can use your Hookshot instead of your Fairy Bow)." Does anybody know whether or not this is true?

Slingshot[]

I really don't think you do need the slingshot. I think you can use a Deku Nut when she is on the roof then attack her eye when she falls? I'm not 100% sure but I swear I've done this before as it's a lot quicker... Maybe it's when she's on the floor, use the deku nut then stab her? No idea. :3

That's odd. In most copies of the game I played, when one uses a Deku Nut a glitch occurs that causes the game to freeze. Good thing it's the first level.

no decku nuts can stun her on the ground. quicker to use then aiming the sling shot too but quickness is irrelvant since gohma dies within seconds no matter what you do. Oni Dark Link 23:38, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Ok, so the slingshot is not strictly required. If you immediately stun her with a Deku Nut, jumpslash with a Deku Stick, and then use the shieldslash a couple of times (I saw a video of somebody doing it that way, then tested it out myself to make sure it worked), she'll die and you'll never need to use the Slingshot. It's a very specialized way of dealing with her, though, and most of the time, she'll crawl to the ceiling and will need to be shot with the slingshot, so I don't know if it's worth mentioning.

Actually, before one of my friend said it to me, I didn't even know that I could use the Slingshot. I've alwas used a Deku Nut. When I first played the game, I stunned her with the deku nut, then slayed her with the sword. If you destroys all the eggs she drops, she'll come down again. Unless you're out of Deku Nuts, I don't think you have to use the slingshot at all... but I have the Gamecube version, though. I'm not sure if there's a difference there.

EDIT: Found a better way to say it.

Disambig Header[]

Since this page is only about the OoT boss, but unlike other such pages it has no game title in its name due to the slight name difference (Queen), I'm tempted to put a disambig header linking to the general Gohma page, so less-knowlageable people who go straight to the Queen Gohma page will not get confused. Would anyone object to that?--FierceDeku 02:53, January 11, 2012 (UTC)

Since this is the only Gohma incarnation whose game does not appear in the title, I have no objections. Jedimasterlink (talk) 03:26, January 11, 2012 (UTC)
