How odd, we have three theories but no disucussion about them or the tower itself. I have my own theories about the mysterious tower.

That's what the history section is for Dialask. You're more than welcome to make a new sub-section for your theory as well, provided you give evidence to support it and it is well-written with good grammar and spelling.

There is discussion about the tower if you have read the article, but as there is so little known about its true history or usage, naturally there's going to be little factual information or discussion about it beyond theories about what its true history could possibly be.

I read it, but I think it would be easier (to find and discuss the ideas at least) if it played the role as the disucussion page for Stone tower. I view editing pages as making things at least semi-permenant and think it is better to start theories in a discussion page, which I why I am doing this.

My theory is that Stone Tower was originally a home for an ancient avian race. This race created the stone tower, but not for the same purposes as its later uses were. The many "holes" on the temple served as living quarters for the members of this race, and the temple perhaps served as a town center or something similar.

Later this race either died out or was conquered by another group. Whatever happened, the giant's followers later inhabited the tower. They realized that, as it already was, it was well defended because of the difficulty moving around in it. This new group used magic to create a massive system of traps and other self-defensive mechanisms for the tower. Years later, this group drifted away from the tower and settled around it forming the kingdom of Ikana.

After many prosperous years, Ikana started disputing with a foriegn nation. This nation sent the Garo to spy on Ikana. They decided that the now uninhabited Stone Tower would serve as a decent base of operations. The Garo started investigating the temple by climbing through the eyeholes of the temple, because they realized that the main door might have been trapped by the former inhabitants.

The Garo spied on Ikana and dug the passage under the well so they could enter the castle without drawing attention to themselves. They were caught and attempted to retreat back to the temple as Igos du Ikana and his men were pursueing them. They forgot about the traps and unleashed a curse by opening the formal entrance to the temple. The curse slew them all and years later we have the events of Majora's Mask.

The newest part of my theory is the avian race, which would explain the need for the many holes in the tower, and the many difficult to traverse gaps that are also present... That is one theory I have thought of.

That is a very well-put together theory Dialask, and I think it's worthy of being put on the main page myself. That's the reason why we began putting them there with theory warnings, because the page was so short that we wanted to give it some substance and in the hope that some people reading them might have some spark of remembering something they didn't realize before and thus unlock more of the secrets behind the tower itself.

I agree it's good to probably check with other users and get a guage for their feelings on a theory before posting it under a theory heading on the main page, but for this I would say it is indeed worthy of having its own section there. If you'd like, you can make a third sub-section for it and make sure you post what you said here as well as all relevant proof from what you observed in the game that led you to form the theory.

Since there is so little known factual information about the tower or its history, well-researched theories about its possible history are about the best we can hope for to date. I'd say that of all the things we enocuntered in MM, the tower is probably the one I'm most curious about.

I think it's pretty much universally accepted that there was some kind of conflict between the Ikanans and the Garo that involved the tower, but that's about the only place I've known most peoples' theories to converge.

I'm sorry, but the theory section is written more like a narrative than factual speculation. Can someone please fix this?

i think there should be a Theory/Speculation page entirely dedicated to the "Stone Tower of Babel" theory. its quite unsettling but it makes sense. one has to wonder how they have time in game development to reference hunt, but i dont know what an adult brain feels like yet, so i cant say.

We don't really do entire pages devoted to theory, since theory isn't the kind of thing an encyclopedia contains. It's usually more fact-centered. -Isdrakthül 03:56, February 13, 2011 (UTC)

Speaking of the "Stone Tower of Babel" theory... I think that it could use some touching up for quality reasons. Also, it might help to add in the fact that the moving blocks in the Tower look sort of like a person, with the Triforce placed where the "person's" rear would be; at the very least, it contributes to the idea of the Tower's creators mocking the Triforce and the three Goddesses.

Tower of Babel theory[]

After this article was trimmed recently, the arguments against this theory no longer make sense since their context was removed. However, the theory itself is practically a fanfiction, so reinserting that information doesn't seem right. Would anyone object to replacing the "Tower of Babel" theory to one that simply states that Stone Tower may be a monument to the Four Giants and their superiority over the Golden Goddesses? Sorry I didn't ask before removing most of the theories, they just seemed really unsupported. And yeah, I agree with you. Green Rupee 04:18, November 8, 2012 (UTC)
