Actually, me... Now go away
should it be noted how the barrier came into existince when it did (just as link and midna left the castle).
was it just good timing they got out in time or did it appear because they left (particly zelda inside midna)? also if you notice zelda's body disapears when she gives midna her soul. was she captured by ganondorf at the exact time or was that body the pysical part of her soul? what do you all think? Oni Dark Link
All good questions Oni, very good questions indeed. Unfortunately, nobody really knows what truly happened to Zelda when she "sacrificed" herself to save Midna, nor do we know precisely why her body re-materialized in the Throne Room of Hyrule Castle. However, we can take note of a few things:
Zelda's body vanishes as she "passes" something to Midna ("Accept this Minda. I pass it to you"), and moments before she held up her hand showing she possessed the Triforce of Wisdom. We saw some kind of light leaving Zelda's body and flowing into Midna's as Zelda's body vanished from sight. Midna is henceforth able to exist outside the twilight, whereas she couldn't previously. The only people in the game that were immune to the twilight's effects were those holding a piece of the Triforce it seems.
The Twilight Pyramid springs up just as Link and Midna leave the castle, making it impossible for them to return there until the end of the game. Midna shows a great look of hate toward the pyramid, as if she knows what it symbolizes. Apparently someone didn't want them to be able to return there, and we learn that someone was Ganondorf.
Midna sends what appears to be that same light as before back into Zelda's body in the Throne Room of Hyrule Castle. When Zelda reawakens in the Throne Room after supposedly her spirit is returned to her body, she states "Say nothing Midna. Your heart and mine were as one, for however short of a time..."
Now, from these facts, it appears likely that given the timing of the pyramid's appearance, Ganondorf was already inside the castle and was possibly observing events. We have seen throughout the series that Ganondorf's soul has been bound to the Triforce of Power, so it may be possible that the two other bearers of the Triforce are the same, for as long as they live their spirits are bound to their Triforce pieces. If the piece leaves one's body, then that one's spirit goes with it I guess would be a good way to put it. So it would be my guess that Zelda passed the Triforce of Wisdom (which would have the power to heal such wounds as Midna sustained) to Midna to save her life, but in doing so her spirit was also passed into Midna's body.
Ganondorf may have been observing this, seized the Princess' soul-less body at this point and taken it to the Throne Room (just as he did in Ocarina of Time in a remarkably similar action). In Ocarina of Time, Zelda was once again suspended over Ganondorf in the Throne Room of his castle, mirroring this instance where her body is once again suspended over him. Perhaps he intended to use her body to possess it and take command of Hyrule, posing as its true ruler and using her authority to search for the other two Triforce pieces, hence the name Ganon's "Puppet": Zelda. This would account for her body's disappearance, why Midna was able to exist as a physical being outside the twilight from this point onward, why the Twilight Pyramid sprung up when it did, and why Zelda was only restored to her former self when Midna returned that strange light to her body.
However, this is all merely speculation, there's been nothing concrete to confirm one way or the other what the truth is behind what happened to Zelda's body and spirit when she sacrificed herself for Midna, just about like there's nothing concrete to prove that Ganondorf really died at the end of Twilight Princess. There were several events like this that have yet to be fully explained, so the best we can hope for right now is to take what we do know and see if we can't deduce the truth for the creation of theories.
that doesnt explain the timing of the barrier appearing. i think the barrier might of appeared when it did because zelda was no longer present to defend the castle aganest ganondorf. Oni Dark Link
That's basically what I said in response to that question. That Ganondorf took Zelda's body when her spirit was removed from it and that he cast the Twilight Pyramid to keep Link and Midna from getting to him again now that Zelda was no longer in control of Hyrule Castle or there to defend it. In that way, he could possess Zelda's lifeless body and pose as her in order to take charge of the government and search for the other two Triforce pieces.
guess he didnt think the people would be suspicous by the fact she would have grey skin ,freaky eyes and had crack like things on he face Oni Dark Link
Did they when Vaati disguised himself as the King of Hyrule? Nope. That's another reason I think Ganondorf possibly wanted to use Zelda's authority over the kingdom for a while, thus necessitating her body.
yeah i know. no offense but you did tell me twice already. Oni Dark Link
Just making sure you see where I'm coming from with it.
Name[]
I'm not sure if Twilight Pyramid is the best name for this. Mainly because it doesn't seem to be actually made of or related to the twilight. It looks more like the stuff they specifically use to replace twilight barriers with later in the game due to the context of the fights. If they wanted to they could have went and made it look like the barriers that are used by twilight Shadow Beasts (which do also appear outside of the twilight) but they didn't. I suggest renaming this Pyramid (Twilight Princess) and at the very least mentioning it on the Pyramid disambig page as long as it has some pyramidal name. OniDark Link 17:25, March 20, 2012 (UTC)
Has it ever occurred to anyone that this thing isn't even a pyramid?
