Tauruses, also known as Bull Knights, are recurring enemies in the Legend of Zelda series. They are bull-like creatures with horned heads and glowing white eyes. Tauruses wear armor, either blue or red.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[]
Blue Tauruses wield spears with strange spherical objects on the end, and can be found spread all over the Dark World. Encounters with Red Tauruses, wielding pitchforks, occur less frequently; only one Red Taurus can be found outside Ganon's Tower. Tauruses are the Dark World equivalent of Hyrule Guards, and behave in the exact same manner; the only difference being their appearance and the weapons they wield. Despite not carrying a visible shield, they can block Link's attacks from the front, presumably with their weapons.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[]
Tauruses act the same way they did in A Link to the Past. The red variety is much more common, but deals more damage and takes more hits than the blue variety.
Etymology[]
Taurus is Latin for the English word "bull". Since Tauruses are bull-like in appearance, this is a possible derivative of the name.
