Tears of Light are items from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. They are stored in a Vessel of Light, which is given to Link by one of the Light Spirits to pour light back into a Twilight-covered area. Tears of Light are collected from a defeated Shadow Insect, and restore one heart of health once received. Attempting to gather Tears of Light without a Vessel of Light results in Link simply passing through them without any effect. Once all of the Tears of Light belonging to a Vessel are collected, the Spirit who provided the Vessel is restored to full strength, and Light returns to that area, thus turning Link into his original Hylian form.
