- "The rules are simple. You send Terrorpins spinning and then cut them!"
- — Deku Scrub
Terrorpins are recurring enemies in the The Legend of Zelda series. Link must flip these Turtle-like creatures onto their backs in order to make them vulnerable.
Appearances[]
The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures[]
Terrorpins are encountered in Frozen Hyrule, they are sent sliding when flipped over with the Magic Hammer. Depending on whether or not they are still moving when hurt, Link can obtain Force Gems from attacking them. They play a vital role in Terrorpin Hockey.
Several special Terrorpins also appear in the Realm of the Heavens. Their shells have colored rims and they can only be flipped by the Link that shares their color.
The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[]
Terrorpins appear within the Tower of Hera and behave more like Turtles from A Link to the Past than their Four Swords Adventures predecessors. They are invulnerable while right-side-up, so Link must flip them onto their backs with the Hammer. They will attempt to right themselves after a few seconds.
Etymology[]
"Terrorpin" is a portmanteau of "terror" and "terrapin", the latter being a species of turtle.
