Gratitude Crystals[]

Gratitude Crystals are solid forms of gratitude. They can be found by either helping people in Skyloft, or can be found in random places on Skyloft, Pumpkin Landing, and Beedle's Island during the night. They can be presented to Batreaux to gain rewards.

There are 80 of them in total, 65 are gained from aiding Skyloft citizens, and 15 can be found as collectible pickup items.

Gratitude Crystals Rewarded Location Requirements Notes
5 Fun Fun Island LD-301S Scrapper Dodoh has lost his Party Wheel to the clouds, causing him to be distraught. Using the Dowsing ability and Scrapper, Link can find the wheel in Lanayru Desert, and can return it back to Dodoh. Overjoyed, his gratitude will manifest into 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Beedle's Island Bug-Catching Net; Fought Bilocyte After a certain point in the game, Beedle will reveal that his Insect Cage containing his rare Horned Colossus Beetle has gone missing. Link can find the beetle in the possession of Strich, who is at the Bug Rock island. After completing a special round of the Bug Heaven minigame requiring Link to catch 10 bugs in under three minutes, Strich gives up the beetle to Link. Now Link can return it to Beedle, who's gratitude manifests itself into 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Luv and Bertie's house The completion of Lanayru Desert's Silent Realm At the Potion Shop, Bertie will look very tired. He will explain to Link that he has not been getting much sleep lately. Going to Bertie's house during the night reveals that his infant son won't stop crying. Bertie then explains that ever since the baby's Rattle was stolen by a bird, he hasn't been able to sleep. Link can find the rattle on top of a tall building between the bridge across the river and the natural rock bridge leading to the Waterfall Cave. Link can obtain the rattle by diving off of the land mass above the waterfall and landing on the building. Returning the rattle to Bertie will award Link 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Knight Academy Must have talked to the ghost, Phoeni Cawlin has feelings towards Karane, and has written her a love letter. However, he is to nervous to deliver it himself, so he entrusts Link to deliver it for him. At this point, Link has two options, he can either deliver the letter to Karane, or can offer it to Phoeni, who has requested paper. In terms of gratitude crystals, it doesn't matter which option Link chooses, as both ultimately end up with Link receiving 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Knight Academy A Bottle; May require completion of the Sandship If Link visits Fledge's room during the night, he can be found doing push-ups (or at least trying to). He complains that he just doesn't think he can improve his strength. Link can help him by buying a Stamina Potion from the potion shop. Presenting the potion to Fledge, he will drink it and claim that he feels better. The next time Link visits Fledge's room during the night, he can be found still doing push-ups. He states that he is improving, but could use a little more help. Giving Fledge another Stamina Potion is needed. Through this process, Link will eventually be awarded with 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Pumpkin Landing Eldin Volcano needs to have been saved At the Lumpy Pumpkin, Kina will be found, talking about how she would appreciate it if she had an assistant. Using the Dowsing ability, Guld can be found at Eldin Volcano. As he will gladly be an assistant, Scrapper can be used to transport Guld to Pumpkin Landing, where Kina will be overjoyed. Her gratitude will manifest into 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Skyloft Placement of the first Ancient Tablet Around The Sky, rumors are going around of a demon kidnapping Kukiel. A man at the Lumpy Pumpkin claims to have seen the demon fiddle with one of the graves in the Graveyard while making his escape. The old man proves to be telling the relative truth, as doing what he says does reveal Kukiel and Batreaux. This is where Link is first introduced to the concept of gratitude crystals. After talking to Kukiel, talking to her parents rewards Link with 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Pipit's house Obtainment of the Gust Bellows Mallara's house is incredibly dusty. However, Mallara is too lazy to do it herself. Using the Gust Bellows, Link can clean up the house. When finished, Mallara's gratitude manifests into 5 gratitude crystals.
10 The Sky none/unknown At some point in the game relatively early on, Orielle goes missing. Her brother, Parrow, is concerned, and asks Link to try and find her. She can be found on an island near Fun Fun Island. Her loftwing is sick and can't fly. Going back to inform Parrow, he provides Link with a bottle of Mushroom Spores to use as medicine for Orielle's loftwing. Giving Orielle the mushroom spores heals her loftwing. Her gratitude manifests into 5 gratitude crystals. Returning to Parrow, hearing the good news, his gratitude also manifests into 5 gratitude crystals, adding up to 10 gratitude crystals being gained from this sidequest.
5 Knight Academy Faron Woods needs to have been flooded Owlan requests a new plant species to study. Using the Dowsing ability, Link can find Oolo, who conveniently doesn't want to be in Faron Woods anymore. Using Scrapper, Oolo can be taken to Owlan, who rewards Link with 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Skyloft Regular visits to the Item Check As Link progresses through the game and uses the Item Check in the Bazaar, the item check girl, Peatrice, will grow a romantic fondness towards Link. Eventually, she will invite Link to her house so she can confess her feelings to Link. When Link does arrive, he can talk to Peatrice. At this point, Link has two options. He can either say that he feels the same way towards her, or he can say that he doesn't. In terms of gratitude crystals, it doesn't matter which option Link chooses, as both ultimately end up with Link receiving 5 gratitude crystals.
5 Skyloft Unknown At some point relatively far into the game, Sparrot shatters his crystal ball. Using the Dowsing ability, a replacement can be found atop the Earth Temple, and can be brought to Sparrot using Scrapper. Playful Items[]

If the Gust Bellows is used on a dropped Rupee, the rupee will spin quickly in place while producing a light shimmering sound. If the Gust Bellows is used on a Heart Flower, the heart will pop off of the flower. If an arrow is shot at a heart, the arrow might pin the heart to the wall or floor.

Remlit Hideout[]

After gaining the Double Clawshots, a Clawshot target near the Statue of the Goddess will enable Link to find a small area filled with Remlits. Interestingly, these Remlits are not present in this area during the night.

Remlit Music[]

Once Link obtains the Goddess's Harp, he can play it at any place. If he plays it near a Remlit, the Remlit will run up to link, sit in front of him, and will "meow" to the sound of the harp. This can be done with multiple Remlits at a time, creating a sort of "Remlit Symphony."

Should Link be Worried?[]

Humorously, in Groose's room, there is a punching bag with Link's head drawn on it.

Skyward Pumpkin[]

If Link stabs a pumpkin with his sword, the pumpkin will actually become stuck on Link's sword. While humorous, the pumpkin will break if Link swings his sword again or sheaths it, with the prior causing the pumpkin to fly off Link's sword, only to break when it hits the ground. Humorously, with a pumpkin attached to his sword, Link can walk, move the sword around, charge a Skyward Strike, and even Dowse (granted the C button is set to something other than the "look" option, as Link automatically sheathes his sword when in normal first-person mode).

The Net of Evil's Bane[]

During the first phase of the fight with Demise, he can be distracted by the Bug-Catching Net, similarly to Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

Zelda's Merchandise[]

If Link goes to the chimney on top of the Knight's Academy, and clawshots into it, he will be taken to Zelda's room. Inside, if Link looks around, he will see a small Tingle doll.
