"A branch from a local tree. It doesn't do much damage, but it doesn't have to. Great for throwing at things or for swinging around haphazardly during peaceful jaunts."
— In-game description

Tree Branches are items in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. They can be found by Link in forested areas such as the Forest of Spirits in the Great Plateau or in Korok Forest in the Great Hyrule Forest region. Similar to the Deku Sticks and Boko Sticks from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, they can be used as weapons by Link and can be lit on fire to be used as makeshift Torches though will eventually burn up if they stay lit for too long like most wooden weapons.

Bokoblins can be occasionally encountered wielding them such as the Bokoblin encountered along the forested path lead from the Old Man's campfire near the Shrine of Resurrection to the Temple of Time. Unarmed Bokoblins, Moblins, and Lizalfos may also pick them up and wield them if there are no other weapons lying around. Unlike Deku and Boko Sticks, Tree Branches are classified as one-handed weapons allowing Link to wield them with shields. Tree Branch is one of the earliest weapons that Link can obtain, though due to the fact they are an improvised weapon they only have a base attack power of 2, have low durability, and burn up in volcanic areas of Death Mountain, though Tree Branches can be easily obtained as they occasionally drop when Link cuts down trees and can be used to kill minor enemies to preserve Link's stronger weapons.
