Turtles are enemies from The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. They have exceptionally hard shells which render them impervious to all attacks. Until Link finds the Magic Hammer, he cannot damage them. Striking the ground near them with the hammer flips them onto their backs, which makes them vulnerable. Turtles will attempt to right themselves after being flipped, and if they do they will move much faster than before. They can also be flipped back to their fronts with a second strike from the Magic Hammer on the ground near them.
