"This sword is favored by high-ranking members of the Yiga. When wielded by a proficient fighter, its unique shape cleaves the very wind and creates a vacuum."
Hyrule Compendium

The Windcleaver is an item from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. It is a single-edged sword with a base attack rating of 40, though this may be increased by certain weapon bonuses. It is used by Yiga Blademasters of the Sheikah Yiga Clan and like most enemy weapons, Link can pick it up and use it himself, but it is notably less powerful in his hands compared to Blademasters due to their expertise with the blade.

As its description implies, the Windcleaver sends out Sword Beam-like blades of wind with every swing that can be charged up for greater power. However this causes the weapon to lose durability with every swing. This sword also flies for a short period of time when thrown, traveling a farther distance than any other two-handed weapon.

Quest[]

The Windcleaver is the fifth weapon required by Nebb during the side quest "The Weapon Connoisseur". Link must obtain one from a Yiga Blademaster then show it to Nebb. He is rewarded with a Silver Rupee and can keep the Windcleaver. As Yiga Blademaster only appear during "The Stolen Heirloom", inside the Yiga Clan Hideout, and in Hyrule after Master Kohga's defeat their are only a few opportunities to acquire one for Nebb before defeating Master Kohga thus it is is best to wait till after Link retrieves the Thunder Helm.
