"I REMEMBER! I thought I had seen that before somewhere... That belonged to the tribe that protected the Hylian royal family long ago. They worked in secret, so they lived in a lonely, forgotten place. But I heard that tribe dwindled in the prolonged wars[…]"
Gor Coron

The Wooden Statue is a quest item from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This little statue belongs to Ilia and, at one point in the game, Doctor Borville sends Link to find this item to help restore Ilia's memory; Link tranforms into his wolf form, and follows the Medicine Scent to talk with Telma's pet cat, Louise. She explains that she took the Wooden Statue from Doctor Borville, but it was stolen from her by some Stalhounds south of Hyrule Castle Town.

After Link successfully seeks out and destroys the Stalhounds, he goes to Kakariko Village and shows the Wooden Statue to Ilia. She regains some of her lost memory and explains that the person who saved her is in danger. Gor Coron examines the statue and tell Link where they believe it came from. Link travels north of the Bridge of Eldin, and finds a cave wherein Darbus is found. He opens the path to the Hidden Village where Link finds Impaz, the old woman who aided Ilia. She gives him the Horse Call that Ilia left with her. Subsequently, the Wooden Statue is no longer found in Link's inventory.

Theory[]

Theory warning: This section contains theoretical information based on the research of one or several other users. It has not been officially verified by Nintendo and its factual accuracy is disputed.

This is one of the mysterious appearances of the Sheikah Symbol in Twilight Princess. It is important to note that the Gorons knew where it came by the design. It came from the Hidden Village, which is believed to be the old Kakariko Village. This theory is supported by signs with the Hylian Language found in the village, as well as the evidence that Impaz may be a Sheikah. Kakariko Village, in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, was a Sheikah village at one point.
