Mad Batter

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Allow me to introduce to you this 48th week in the TEMPLE. OF. COURAGE!!!! 'Ware the licentious trickery of both this week's contestants, as well as your lawyer.

In the yellow-ish corner, we have a diminutive inventor of ship add-ons, a man living in what could be referred to as total seclusion and has absolutely no sense of proportion or correct pricing of items necessary to complete a game... it's EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEDDO!

And in the green corner floats this a bad-looking bat-demon-spirit...thing. Imprisoned for an unknown time, this creature hates whomever frees him from captivity, but has no sense of punishment; it's the MAD BATTERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

So, two of the strangest characters from any of Hyrule's time periods, with no sense of scale, shall now face off against each other. Who shall prevail? That, my dear voters, is up to you! I can feel the tension building, so LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE! Yeah!

Votes for Eddo

  1. "Ready?... I'll say it!... Get ready guy! I'm serious!... It's going for the stoop price of... 50 rupees! King_of_evil
  2. It's fun screaming into the DS mic to make his prices go lower. And he's kinda creepy. Kopaka251 (talk) 22:03, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  3. Eddo is just too funny. I don't care how bad a caracter I pick losses.User:Midna Rocks
  4. I don't really know who the other character is, so I am voting for Eddo. Besides, he has cannons. Cannons go boom. I like things that go boom. User:CaelumMortis
  5. I am voting for him completely out of pity that he is losing. User:Mr.Green hat
  6. Maybe one day Eddo will be loved. UberPhoeb 15:04, 23 May 2009 (UTC)

  1. Eddo has a cannon. Does mad batter have a cannon? I didn't think so.
  2. It's fun to scream into the DS, and cannons are cool.
  3. I want Eddo, because he works more with machines. Mr. Fairy

Votes for Mad Batter

  1. Honestly, there's no way I could not vote for Mad Batter. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 01:06, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  2. Lets get serious. This battle was made to have a ToC with the Mad Batter in it. Eddo is just here so it can officially be called a ToC. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:16, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  3. Human vs. Demon? Demon wins. Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 12:12, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  4. Yay, it made it through. As cool as that is, Joe was right. I didn't exactly suggest this, expecting Eddo to have any chance in Hellesund. Mad Batter is a scizophrenic badass. Eddo is...meh, another underdeveloped Phantom Hourglass character. Good for a few laughs, but raises the urge to kill. --AuronKaizer! 13:25, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  5. We all know eddo stands no chance. and is that the only picture we have of the mad batter? Oni Dark Link 13:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  6. Mad Batter needs not a cannon for he has the power to utterly confuse anyone who dares even think of disturbing him. When i was little playing this game i used to avoid him because i thought he cut my magic in half rather than cause me to use half the magic upon wielding magic-depleting items. Haha. Good times you little jerk...i mean friend. Katamariqueen (talk) 14:10, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  7. I have yet to play a game with either in it but just by looks alone: the Mad Batter looks like a God or something whilst Eddo looks like some weird midget guy who tried to make a turban. --Flashpenny (talk) 20:08, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  8. Okay, some insane bat demon ghost thing from a hidden shrine versus a bland character who somehow survived a lobotomy performed with a samurai sword. Eddo is Deddo. Portal-Kombat
  9. I just wanted to vote for him. nuff said. sue me.--Shade Link (talk) 22:07, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  10. Classic quotes, classic laffs. --Caiaphasthesympathist (talk) 22:11, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
  11. Boy, I haven't played A Link to th Past yet, (I, planning on getting it on the virtual console soon), I havent played Phantom Hourglass either, but how could i not vote for mad batter? Anyway, cool bat demon beats ANY PH character anytime!-BulbinSlayer
  12. I know this is an one-sided fight, but still. The Mad hatter seems funnier, and his in-game character is humoruous. -iceblade1994
  13. Voting for Mad Batter only because he is a demon. Oddball 464
  14. I don't really have a reason aside from the fact that Eddo isn't such a good character... Sicerely, Watcher.

  3. looks like bongo bongo from oot alittle what do i know i never even played the game
  4. bat dude is going to win
  5. Eh, I just like this guy more. (Also, it should be noted, the recurring character is always going to win :P)
  6. this guy is just plain funny. Eddo looks like a little dork who had a tough time with his bandages

Not even a day and this fight is already ridiculously one-sided. Wow. --Flashpenny (talk) 21:27, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

most of these fights the characters are comprable this one they are nothing alike

most one sided fights are apperent on day one Oni Dark Link 21:46, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey last week, wasn't it a battle for the loser?--Shade Link (talk) 22:08, 18 May 2009 (UTC)

I guess in the end, somebody changed it. Not that anyone cares. (I'm trying to beat Zraliv for the "most one-sided fight" award here, so help out, people!) --AuronKaizer! 22:54, 18 May 2009 (UTC)
You've got your work cut out for you. "They" beat Big Poe by 25 votes. Mad Batter is currenly only winning by 8.5. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 01:16, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
You've gotta think relatively. Think percentage, not amount of votes. --AuronKaizer! 01:20, 19 May 2009 (UTC)
Alright. "They" beat Big Poe by 25/31 of the votes, or about 80%. Mad Batter is currently winning by 8.5/15.5 of the votes, or about 55%. You've still got a bit of work to do. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 08:30, 19 May 2009 (UTC)

What the hell is wrong with the site? All of the pages are messed up. Sincerely, Watcher.

To what extent are they "messed up"? It looks fine to me. By the way, don't use the Temple of Courage comment sections for stuff like that. --AuronKaizer! 19:55, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Maybe he is suffering from a glitch or something. On a more important note, where SHOULD he comment? No where else seems sufficient... Or he could use shoutbox. Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 22:17, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, maybe it's just because this is what the site looks like without McAfee. Incidently, how does your's look? Sincerely Watcher. Man I gotta start remembering to log on.

I just noticed, wasn't last weeks fight the closest ever? I checked and it is closer than both Link the Pig vs. Lord Bulbo and Goron vs. Zora. Metroidhunter32 23:09, 21 May 2009 (UTC)

Week 47: Water Temple vs. Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

Zelda II - The Adventure of Link (box)

LLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this week's battle in the TEMPLE OF COURAGE! Make sure to get your adrenaline flowing and your arteries clogged by visiting the concession stand beforehand! Now, let's get to the action here! This week, for the very first time, we have a location vs. game battle. Not only that, it's a battle between two of the most hated things to ever exist within The Legend of Zelda! If you are a positively-minded person, we recommend that you avoid this battle altogether, because this isn't going to be a cute display of friendliness! Now, introducing tonight's participants.

In the marine-blue corner, we have the most feared dungeon in both Zelda and game history. It's maze-like, it's full of water, requires an inhuman amount of thinking to accomplish, and it can severely glitch your game, all the while causing irreperable nerve damage with the Eastern-feel theme...ladies, cover your eyes...it's the WATTTTTTTTEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRR TEMPLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

And in the corn-yellow corner, is the most hated game in the Zelda series...so hated that some want it to be declared non-canonical...a curse for those who hate it, a gift for those who love it...it's the anachronistically named Wand of Gamelon ZELDA II: THE ADVENTURE OF LINK!!!!!

And now, the moment you've all been waiting for...two insanely hated entities doing battle, causing a black cloud of delightful negativity and hurt feelings to cover the Temple of Courage for the entirety of this no-doubt drawn out, polarized battle of hate. Ladies...gentlemen...Quagmire...LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!! (Kennedy!)

Votes for Water Temple

  1. I hate this one more. BECAUSE IT WAS TOO DARN EASY (most of them anyway.) What's the big deal? I just don't see it. I've played the adventures of link, and i LOVE it, Because it's kinda hard for me. That's unusual for a game. So I vote this one. Zeerotytus (talk) / 00:37, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  2. I really don't see why Zelda II is so hated. I've never played it so I wouldn't know how bad it is, or even if it's bad at all. But the Water Temple, that is a completely differest story, I've hated all Water Temples, except the one from Twilight Princess, because I was stuck in the one from Ocarina of time for almost a year. User:Iriadinh, Hero of Air
  3. GO ZELDA II!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The only good thing in the water temple is the dark link fight. everythiung else is just nightmareish. Oni Dark Link 14:20, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  4. Say what you like, I thought Zelda II wasn't quite as bad as what everyone says. I liked it's 90ish feel, the music, I liked the attempt at the graphics (and the art), the controls, the spells, the wizzrobes confused the f... Out of the rest of the series it isn't ranked very high, but I remember that I was soirst time I played the water temple that I had to restart the entire game and beat it years later. Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 20:57, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  5. I hated Zelda II, so much so that I would've sold it to my friend if he had an SNES (I dunno what he sees in it). If there's one thing I hate more than Zelda II, it would be the damn Water Temple. Let's put it this way: does Zelda II have a fatal glitch if you use a key on the wrong door at the wrong time? Does Zelda II require you to press START to put on a couple of damn boots 50,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times? Does Zelda II have music that gets on your nerves after spending half the tour in it and goes on for the whole damn thing? Was Zelda II created by Shigeru Miyamoto's trip to Japanese Woodstock? Did Zelda II force you to have to play the whole damn game up to that point AGAIN if you made one small little glitch? I'll tell you the answer: no it doesn't! (well the 4th one is a probable exception) There's not a lot of things I hate in this world but the Water Temple is one of them. --Flashpenny (talk) 21:27, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  6. I'm going to ahve to vote water temple because It's the only one I've played and Zelda II is winning so I don't see a problem in voting for this one. Metroidhunter32 21:44, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  7. Aaah yes the water temple *eye twitch*THis stupid temple has to be the most complex dungeon...ever!So it gets my vote :D Nayru goddess
  8. Heh, not much of a contest for me. After all, if you have a taste for bad games, you could tolerate Zelda II. But from what I've heard about it, the Water Temple is just pure insanity. I like Ocarnia, and my insanity, but anything that could destroy either is just far too much. Sincerely Watcher.
  9. I agree that Zelda II isn't that good, but I honestly think everyone is overreacting. This bloody temple was so frustrating for me. Constantly pressing start to switch between those damn boots is enough to make even the most patient gamer throw his/her controller at the TV. Oddball464 03:46, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
  10. This temple is a joke, screw up one thing on this, like using a key on the wrong door and you have to start all over again. not fun. Theo.twili (talk)
  11. Why do people hate Zelda 2? It was great! D:Tinyosi
  12. this one is possible. By the way, I never found a way to screw up the temple so that you would have to restart, and i've tried. Solar flute (talk)
  13. Zelda II is AWESOME!! You guys that hate it obviously think that games are not supposed to be challenging (which makes them fun and interesting), and that you are to finish them in less than 48 hours. You can't have instant gratification all the time, people. To kill an iron knuckle, corner it on a ledge, then attack so that it can't move backwards. I'd like to see more Zelda 2-D side-scrollers! Jarmihi (talk) 15:43, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
  14. Zelda II is extremely hard, but it gets easier once you figure out the enemies' patterns and how to beat them. Water Temple is so bloody aggravating that I'm sre I'll never get through it again without looking up a walkthrough on Youtube. Why? Because text walkthroughs don't even help you not get lost in this dungeon. Besides the layout, there are so many individual puzzles that drove me up the wall. Figuring out that you had to do a jump attack through an iron gate so that I could get a Skulltula took me many angry hours to figure out, and don't get me started on how tough it is to light two torches with arrows when you don't HAVE Fire arrows. In fact, it makes me angry just thinking about it, as you can see by the wall of text. Water Temple, Water Temple... your hardness and the fact that you made me talk to Ruto again make me hate you forever.--Bek (talk) 00:03, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
  15. Water Temple took me 3 to 4 years to beat, mostly because I got so angry I got rid of my copy then got a Gamecube version years later,My vote goes to Water Temple -LoafDaConvict

  1. I have to hand it to Adventure of Link to really get me into the Zelda Series- it was the first game in the series I ever played. I hated the water temple waay more.
  2. I vote for this one because i've played most water temples and this one drove me and my family crazy with the constant pausing to equip and unequip the iron boots (annoying right), but i love realy hard temples so i vote for this one.
  3. Water Temple sucks more. Too much pausing and unpausing for those dang iron boots.
  4. Alright, Water Temple. I bloody hate the Water Temple. I was doing a speedrun competition against my brother, and I got stuck in the water temple and ended up losing because of it. It gets ridiculous, but I love it more that Zelda 2. At least this is only part of the game that sucked, no?
  5. I actually love Zelda 2, it is my second favorite 2D Zelda. Ocarina of Time is my favorite game ever, but sometimes I don't play through because I don't want to deal with the Water Temple.
  6. I must recognize a very hard game when i see it so I have to tell evryone i'd lost a lot of times in the water temple!!! BUT I THINK NOTHING IS HARDER THAN ZELDA 2!!! THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER CREATED !!
  7. Ocarina of Time beats Zelda 2, making the water temple better.
  8. Water Temple has Dark Link. Thus Water Temple > Zelda II
  9. The dang water temple is the only reason I can't beat Ocarina of Time (This is where I write how much I hate it right?). From, Midna Rocks
  10. Ah, to love is to hate and to hate is to love. i liked this dungeon because it gave me a challenge, but it messed with my head. I could never figure out where to go. IT TOOK ME 2 HOURS !!!. SO i like it better because it was hard, but the same time i hate it because it so hard.
  11. well i dont know what u guys just said but the water temple is actuly my fav i have the inhuman thinking skill with out gliching the game so i count it but since ur sapposed to hate it the only thing i do hate about it is the main boss and dark link i think
  12. I Liked the water temple, the Dungeons in Ocarina of time were much scarier then they are in recent games, not to mention this temple is scary and confusing,, I dident know that people actualy gave up on the game for it though, then again the continual swapping between items was annoying, but I Liked the Boss Morpha,
  13. Hated this one so much i am voting for ir
  14. The Water Temple is worse because it is a dungeon, not a game. Mr.Fairy

Votes for Zelda II

  1. I never understood all the hatred towards the Water Temple. Of course, it was the dungeon I struggled the most to complete in Ocarina of Time, but I've completed much harder things than the Water Temple throughout my storied gaming career (have any of you ever completed Outlaws on the "Ugly" difficulty setting? No, you have not.) Stop whining just 'cause you don't have the cognitive capacity to complete a simple dungeon. Now...Zelda II. The first time I played it on my NES emulator, I was thinking "Man, I really wasted my bandwidth on downloading this crappy fan game." Imagine my surprise when I saw that it was an officially licensed Nintendo product. Boring, tedious, and unenjoyable on a level only reached subsequently by Halo and World of Warcraft, it was probably one of the worst wastes of time I have ever committed and will probably pass as a violation of one of the ten commandments when I go, and rightly so. Worst sequel of all time and most definitely worst Zelda game. I'd rather have the CD-i games, or even no game at all. Nintendo...MAKE IT NON-CANONICAL...now. --AuronKaizer! 00:28, 11 May 2009 (UTC
  2. Heh, you know a game is freakin' hard if you die WITH A GAMESHARK...—Triforce 14Triforce4 00:36, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  3. I've never played Zelda II, but from what I've heard, it's the worst game in the series. Bkarcher97
  4. This one. This game was stupid. I've only ever seen it played, and it was terrible. User:Ccbermanzzpedia 02:15, 11 May 2009 (UTC) just because i'm way to lazy to include the time. (UTC)
  5. Holy Crap. While I admit that the Wter Temple has been the only Zelda dungeon i.ve had to get a walkthrough for, )besides Stone Tower Temple), I've played Zelda II on The Zelda Collectors disc and let me tell you, it is freakin' retarded! I die like every five minutes, and Its one of the only zelda games that I have died in. I admit that the water temple was long and tedious, but Zelda II pwns all in the category of annoyance.-Bulbin Slayer
  6. While the Water Temple was ridiculous and annoying at times, it challenged me to utilize my time and also purchase the first and only guide ever. Despite the fact that i have beat OoT many many times, i still have trouble finishing this temple without throwing my tv out the window. However, after countless months of Zelda II...i never finished it. It did not challenge me, but made me scratch my head in confusion while kicking anything in my vicinity. Why would someone market such a cruel joke?!?! I don't even thinking making in non-canonical would do justice to all the pain, suffering and broken electronics this game has caused. I propose a MASS BONFIRE!!! Katamariqueen (talk) 13:49, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  7. I don't know why everybody hates water temple. Forest temple was my total nightmare... But Zelda II tops the list. ?? ?µ??
  8. The Water Temple was well-designed. Zelda II frustrates players because of BAD design. I prefer the CD-i games over it because they at least have the most unintentionally funny/scary cutscenes known to man. Here's what I hate about Zelda II: a terrible EXP system that would've killed the series multiple times over if they had stuck with it, badly designed and stupid enemies/dungeons, villagers that take forever for their text to load just to get useless, unhelpful lines like HELLO YOUNG FELLOW, I KNOW NOTHING, and I AM MUCH TOO BUSY TO TALK TO A STRANGER, bad controls that cause Link to immediately slip and die in platforming segments, and really dumb character names that sound like stuff from the CD-i games (Rebonack and Carrock doesn't sound to out of place with Militron and Goronu.) The only redeeming factor is the good music. But you can get that in nearly every other Zelda game. I gave up on this game not because it was too hard, but because it is not worth my time. If I wanted to play an RPG I'd play MOTHER, and if I wanted to play a platformer I'd play Super Mario Bros! Portal-Kombat
  9. I never played this, but it looks like a piece of crap. Not only do you die like every minute, and after three times go back to the beginning, but the story freakin' sucked crap! What is this, Sleeping Beauty? Did Nintendo hire Disney for the story or something? NINTENDO: MAKE THIS PIECE OF CRAP NON-CANONICAL! --Majora4Prez (talk) 22:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  10. DERN IT!!! --Caiaphasthesympathist (talk) 21:34, 11 May 2009 (UTC)
  11. let me say i don't dislike any legend of Zelda but the water temple was my second favorite temple in OoT and Favorite in TP and LoZ 2 is neer the bottom of LoZs go Bottom being the DS titles go DRTJR (talk) 16:49, 12 May 2009 (UTC)DRTJR
  12. I played this on an emulator. I hate it. Though the Water Temple of water was hard, it only took me 2 weeks to beat. Kopaka251 (talk) 22:02, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
  13. Oh no!I hate the end of this game it's like some sleeping beauty story!! ): User:Zelda phoenix
  14. Sorry, Zelda II. I actually LIKE the Water Temple. (...What? I love puzzles, Dark Link is my favourite miniboss, Morpha is my favourite boss, and in the half-dozen times I've played the game through, I've NEVER got stuck!) It does get SOME points for introducing things like magic and NPCs ("I AM ERROR." Yes you are, good boy), and has some great music - its Overworld theme is one of my favourites. (And, okay, sliiight soft spot because one of my favourite Links in my favourite RPG is from this game.) But it's not enough to save it - sorry, Zelda II! --Ryttu3k (talk) 08:44, 13 May 2009 (UTC)
  15. Ok, since i have not been on for a while, and i missed most of the fight, and i realized we are voting for loser, i just say this thing is. nuff said. no questions asked. --Shade Link (talk) 19:54, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
  16. I can't even explain it but... Zelda 2 just doesn't deserve anything, it was terrible. user:dodongolord
  17. Zelda 2 was just one of those games in which I would spend hours upon hours searching through the dungeons and overworld for hidden items only to get to a difficult part, where I would get multiple game overs and eventually give up. Sorry, Zelda 2, but I managed to get through the Water Temple in one day, and I still haven't beaten you. User:Nayru's Maiden
  18. What's wrong with the water temple? Zelda II was way worse! -User:Hello Doggy

  1. The Water Temple was tough, but it isn't NEARLY as hard as people make it seem. Zelda II, on the other hand...the whole game is just boring, tedious, and frustrating. Do we really need a poll to know this is the most-hated canonical Zelda game of all time?
  2. I have never played this game, but it looks annoying from the sidescrolling segments. The water temple only had me stumped on one key, which I found a few minutes later. Thank the compass!
  3. I actually wasted my money on this game.. played it for an hour and I didn't even make it past dungeon one.. I really really really hate this game!! Water Temple was kind of nice actually.. I mean it was highly irritating that you had to swich the water height over and over again, but besides that it was a nice temple..
  4. I don't remember the Water Temple, but anything is better than Zelda 2. >_<
  5. I don't understand the great fuss about the Water Temple, it is really easy to remember and when you have got the hang of switching the water level (the switches being only 3), it doesn't take that much time. First time I played Ocarina, it took me 2 hours to figure it out and win it. Besides that, Morpha is the easiest boss in the game (except for Gohma). And Dark Link can be beaten easily with the Megaton Hammer. I actually like the Water Temple alot. Zelda 2, on the other hand... Disgusting.
  6. THIS GAME IS SO DANG HARD! I die everytime, and the Water Temple's Miniboss is the hardest Miniboss i had ever fought. But Zelda 2 he pops out (not sure)ranomly. ZELDA II MUST DIE!!!!!
  7. I have never used a walkthrough with the water temle, no joke. Zelda 2 however is a sadistic bastard child that wants nothing better than to tie you down eat burn you alive
  8. This. I never could finish the water temple without a proper walkthrough, but this I played a couple times... Even with the most wide array of cheating enhancements I could get, I couldn't even be bothered to get past Rebonack. I mean, just darn.
  9. One reason for voting here is to say that I love the Water Temple and that Zelda 2 is awful, but the main reason is to make AuronKaizer mad! ~~AGENT CLYDE!!!!!!!!
  10. I HATE ZELDA 2!!!!!!!! I love Ocarina of time and I love the water temple. It was confusing a few times, but it's a lot better than Zelda 2! DARK LINK RULEZ!!!
  11. i found the water temple to be insanly hard, but i got through it. here now we have a pathetic attempt to make a zelda game into an RPG.
  12. This game is impossible to play. They give you no direction whatsoever as to what dungeon you're supposed to do when, and therefore you end up walking into a pitch-black cave with a hundred Keese mobbing you and no Candle. Whereas the Water Temple, I have figured out the general pattern after 4 runs through Ocarina. (I still get stuck from time to time though).

This fight isent Phsycically possible,

Heh, guess people are going to be confused as to whether or not the one you vote for is the one you hate more or like more. To tell the truth, I don't even know. Ain't it cool to just tell logic to take a hike for a week? --AuronKaizer! 00:41, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

This is why I didn't like this. Are we voting for what we like more or dislike more? (too lazy to read the whole intro if it is answered in there) --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:20, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Asked the same exact question when Metroidhunter suggested for the first time. He just said that he wasn't sure and that it was really up to the voter. That said, I really don't want to sound like I'm complaining or being a bad sport or anything, but I'd just like to say that I'm not going to be voting on this one. Just don't like the idea of a fight based on hatred, and I don't want to be a part of it. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 03:00, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

FOOLS! GIVE IN TO THE DARK SIDE! *forcelightning* --AuronKaizer! 13:38, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

something tells me this is going to be rather one-sided in Zelda II's favor User: Iriadinh, Hero of Air

even if its going to win for being bad a win is still a win. still i dont like that a lot of people (so far about 2) are voting for zelda ii and just saying theyve heard its the worst but i supose a vote is a vote and no real reasons are required. Oni Dark Link 14:18, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

Finally, I could vent my boundless hatred for Zelda II. By the way, has anyone ever played through the Water Temple in OoT Master Quest? It's not hard, just strange... rows and rows of empty rooms and bypassed puzzles, plus a random hallway that makes you fight Lizalfos underwater. Portal-Kombat

I changed the picture because the box doesn't tell you anything. The picture gives you a feel of the gameplay. Change it back if you do not like it. Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 21:01, 11 May 2009 (UTC)

O.o"~Does the water temple really have that glich? I'v been playing OoT for years and i'v never come across it. I'll admit it's deffenetly one of the harder tempels but i didn't think it was that awful. As for Zelda II i'v never played it but it sounds anoying. User: Twilght mistica :p 11/05/09 11:49 pm

How the hell did this get approved, do people really hate this game THAT much. MasterTheif43 (talk) 00:21, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

How did it get approved? People supported it. Feel free to make some mainspace edits so you can vote down suggestions like this in the future, if you care to. Just don't come here complaining about what the majority obviously wanted. And yes, I do believe the number of votes and harsh words spoken against it would be a good illustrator about how (most?) people feel about the game, in this instance. --AuronKaizer! 00:25, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you to whoever wrote the intro this week! I was dreading having to write it, and you, well you did it just perfectly! I couldn't have done a better job myself! Thank you! Sincerely, Watcher.

I'm not going to check back in the history, but the little "(Kennedy!)" at the end there seems to imply that it was AuronKaizer. Not sure a lot of people other than you or AuronKaizer could do the intro like that, for that matter. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:06, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
It's called subtlety...I think. --AuronKaizer! 20:47, 12 May 2009 (UTC)

I am just writing this to say that I think it is EXTREMELY unfair that AuronKaizer blocked me on a different computer until October just because I made a few votes in the ToC without knowing that I had to edit 50 articles or some such stuff. Just started playing Zelda II today, so I could know what I was talking about when I voted. I am planning to beat it, so that all will marvel at my skills and/or strength of will and/or resilience of sanity.--Bek (talk) 00:05, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

One bit of advice, beware Iron Knuckles and most of all beware the Great Palace. There is no joke that they are some of the hardest things in a Zelda game. I thought that game was already very hard... I thought "bah it couldn't get much harder" I was wrong. The Great Palace is one of the hardest things ever... instead of Iron Knuckles they have bird knights (same thing only jumping) and Firebirds (shoots fireballs that follow you). Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 00:26, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Whoo, this is going to be a close one. Zelda II is "losing" by .5 due to a anoynomous vote. This is going to be close. Kopaka251 (talk) 01:47, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

To whoever posted Vote # 13 for the Water Temple there's a fine line between being the right kind of difficulty and being too hard or too easy. Quite frankly Zelda II stepped over that line and was difficult right off the bat which is probably why a lot of people hate it. However that doesn't quite explain why people don't hate the original Zelda or Twilight Princess which also went away from that fine line (one was too hard, one was too easy, take a guess at which is which). The happy medium of difficulty is also one of the many things that made the two N64 Zelda games masterpieces. --Flashpenny (talk) 11:42, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

what that person said is dead on and 100% true. there is no too hard. Oni Dark Link 11:52, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Actually Oni, you're one of few individuals who probably think that (considering the fact that you're obviously a Zelda II fan yourself). Whenever someone says something like that they mean as a majority. --Flashpenny (talk) 19:55, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

to whoever was the last guy in anonymous vote for water temple, THIS IS A VOTE FOR THE LOSER BATTLE! CHANGE YOUR VOTE, IF YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO CHANGE IT, THEN TAKE IT OFF! --Shade Link (talk) 19:56, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

im not saying the majority think that (becuase i know they dont). im saying he is speaking the truth (which he is although the majority will disagree because they are blind) Oni Dark Link 20:10, 14 May 2009 (UTC)o and that anonymous must fail to see that the final boss of the whole game is Dark Link.

Excuse me? Have you ever heard of this thing called "relativity"? There's no such thing as a "truth" in this case. Could you stop insulting people by calling them blind just because they don't have as bad a taste in games as you do? Thanks. --AuronKaizer! 20:15, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
On that note, while Flashpenny may be "nicer" than Big Poe=Nice Guy, he sure doesn't seem to have a better sense of relativity. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:18, 14 May 2009 (UTC)
Well XYZ there are 3 definitions for relativity: 1. The state-of-fact of being relative, as in having an awareness of what's going on around you; 2. The state-of-fact of being relative, which is the kind you guys are obviously talking about; and 3. Albert Einstein's theory of how mass equals mass multiplied by the speed of light squared. Since I have yet to get to advanced science the first two I do have an average awareness of. You should learn not to automatically assume someone just by one comment. --Flashpenny (talk) 01:41, 15 May 2009 (UTC)
I didn't, I based it off of several comments I've seen from you in the past. Hows about you learn not to assume that someone's assuming something? Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 00:28, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
What? Didn't I say myself (to you Xykeb no less) that when I do say stuff like that I am of course speaking relatively and it's probably just what the general population thinks. For example when I say that Zelda II is a very difficult game I'm being relative, just look at some of the votes in the column. Most users think that but a handful don't. --Flashpenny (talk) 10:41, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
Except that's not always the case. For example, I don't particularly think that "most" people think that Twilight Princess is more popular than Wind Waker or that "most" people think that all people that oppose Link are secondary antagonists. Sure, "most" people think that Zelda II is hard. But that's just one example of your statement being what "most" people think. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 16:59, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
What exactly is the point I'm getting at? I do have a sense of relativity and such, and thus those things are relative. Perhaps when I'm saying a majority I could just mean 50.0000000001% but the majority nonetheless. Look if that comment is really getting to you, I wasn't really in the happiest of moods that day and I can understand how negative mindsets can cloud one's opinions and public judgment. --Flashpenny (talk) 23:38, 16 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey, I voted for the Water Temple but I accidently put it under anonymous votes and then I tried to put it back under the user votes and now its deleted. Does that mean my vote dosen't count and I can't vote again?--Twilightwizard0309 (talk) 23:50, 14 May 2009 (UTC)

Hey Auron, what do you mean by calling Agent Clyde "Mr. Sockpuppet"? From, Midna Rocks

I think he was comparing the "Mr. Sockpuppet" to a schizoprenic Split Personality Disorder (the way that a mentally ill ventriloquist would put that kind of stuff into a sock puppet). In other words he apparently blocked the original user, Agent Clyde is another domain name created by that aforementioned user and thus Ak blocked him as well. --Flashpenny (talk) 02:22, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

People, please remember that you're supposed to vote for the one that you hate the most. --Majora4Prez (talk) 01:50, 17 May 2009 (UTC)

Week 46: Bomb Fish vs. Real Bombchu

Bomb Fish - Water Bomb
Winner!
"Real Bombchu"
Real Bombchu
5.5<30
Real Bombchu

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We are now proud to bring to you the 46th week in the TEMPLE OF COURAGE! All right! All patrons please be advised that our combatants are highly explosive.

Submerged in the blue corner, we have a highly explosive fish. From the Lakebed Temple itself, we have the mighty, carnivorous BOMB FISHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

And sitting in the brown corner, a moving explosive waiting for Link to set him off, this rat reallly means business, it is the REAL BOMBCHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

So, to explosive down right nasty enemies to Hyrule, loading themselves with ammo for a battle that will shake the foundations of the Temple of Courage itself!!!!!! Who will win? That, my dear voters, is up to you! I can hardly withstand the tension, so LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE! Yeah!

Votes for Bomb Fish

  1. wow, bombfish has so few votes right now, I guess I have to vote for bombfish because he is both more likley to win (the real bombchu can't swim and is too impatiant to wait) and I like fish better than rodents User:Dodongolord
  2. K. this fight is so insanely unfair i have to vote for bomb fish just to make it seem like it has a fighting chance. in fact i wasn't even going to vote this week, until i saw what was going on. User:Ccbermanzzpedia May, 6th 2009, Somewhere in time! 7:00 am (UTC)
  3. Eh, it's losing, but there's just something about a fish that explodes on you that just seems oh so right... Wow, I just scared myself. Sincerely, Watcher.

  1. Umm, you can find this bomb BEFORE the lakebed temple, but anyways, I choose this because I was so happy when I first got it, because I was desperate to destroy a rock underwater. Bombchus are just annoying.
  2. Bomb Fish are better
  3. Bomb fish were more of a nuisence to me- you cant shield half the time while fighting them. And this fight is a bit one-sided...

Votes for Real Bombchu

  1. These guys are annoying and crazy! My vote goes to them. Oddball464 4:21, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
  2. A rat that explodeds is cooler than a fish that explodes.--EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 04:26, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
  3. I have no idea why I prefer these, I just know that I do. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:11, 5 May 2009 (UTC)
  4. Oh my God! These guys are the most hated enemies in any one of the games, ever! Therefore, they have to win. //Khanson

  8. OMG these guys are so cool! I've always liked them! Hevehoc 15:36, 5 May (CET)
  9. It is a suicidal rat with a bomb on it's tail, therefore it has to win. User:King_of_Evil
  10. These ugly dudes were ever so much more annoying than the bombfish, I mean the fish just sits in the water and is fairly simple to avoid, just don't go in the water, the real bombchus however were all over the path to Ikana. The crazy, homicidal, kamikaze rodents definitely get my vote User:Iriadinh, Hero of Air
  11. These @$$ are everywhere. And they rock! Dark Fierce Deity is out. Peace!

  15. Kamikaze suicidal rats for the win—Triforce 14Triforce4 03:25, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

  17. I've never encountered a real bombchu but the bomb fish are a pain in my butt in Twilight Princess. I hate them so much that I'm voting against them. --Twilightwizard0309 (talk) 11:20, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
  18. I could have predicted the way this battle would turn out...I mean bombchus even have a notable weapon (unlike the ooh it blows up under water, water bomb) Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 12:20, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
  19. Not even this TP fanboy is that blindDarkest-Link123 (talk) 14:02, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
  20. Don't shoot me for saying this, but I enjoyed Twilight just as much as I enjoyed Majora. That being said, the water bomb was just a tad... useless. You use it during one dungeon and then they become a waste of money and you switch back to regular bombs. Eclair Blanc (talk)
  21. The Bomb Fish are really easy to defeat. I've never seen the Real Bombchu, but he looks like he would skitter away from a simple sword swipe, unlike his opponent. Bkarcher97
  22. The bombchus are a lot harder and less problematic than the bombfish. Solomon2479343
  23. The bombchus are way better. It is a bomb vs. a real creature. The bombchu can easily avoid the bomb fish. Bombchus all the way! Younglink712
  24. Suicidal rats win every time. YOWUZA TALK 2 ME! 19:39, 9 May 2009 (UTC)
  25. I've never played Majora's Mask, and I have played Twilight Princess, but there is just something undeniably cooler about an exploding rat than an exploding fish. Maybe it's just that it makes so little sense (I know neither of them make sense but somehow a rat seems to make less sense).MaloMart (talk)
  26. Well, lets just say I get creeped out with underwater creatures. >.< user:dragonmaster_kayla

  1. I've never played Majora's Mask (maybe someday), but the bombfishes were just too annoying. I vote for the awesome, explosive rodent.
  2. Explosives work better on land than under water, anyway.
  3. Go Bombchus!
  4. These guys were tough. The Bombfish were annoying and uncool.
  5. The bombfish appeared so little in TP that before I saw the fight I forgot they were in the game From, Midna Rocks
  6. The rat-thingy is better than a fish with a bomb in his stomach. Mr.Fairy
  7. Theres noway these two particular enemies would ever cross paths but if they did the Real Bombchu would win becuase the blast radiants from inside the fish would be smaller then a explosion from a bomb attatched to a animal.
  8. Exploding things are cool, but bombchus are the coolest!

Hey guys, don't be too hard on the intro this week. My little brother's been dying to do it, so I let him. Don't bash it because he did it. It's actually pretty good, non? Sincerely, Watcher.

This might be a worse match up than Big Poe and Them

First off, sign your comment. Second, this is not a "worse" matchup, just a more one-sided one. The matchup itself was a good one, evidenced by people supporting it, it just ended up being one-sided. Third, please keep any rude comments to yourself. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 16:06, 6 May 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, what paper plane? However I did find out on my first playthrough that Goron Link can't kill ChuChus (unless he's spike-rolling) and that Real Bombchus can walk on water. --Flashpenny (talk) 22:42, 6 May 2009 (UTC)
For the record, I'm sick and tired of the one-sided fights we've been having lately. I wish we had some more epic fights like the one with Death Sword and Gommess. And another thing, I think we should have some truly epic fight for week number 50. --Twilightwizard0309 (talk) 00:56, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Well, it's a good thing you're not in charge then, isn't it? Sorry man, fights are based on votes only, we can't just make a special one-case "epic" fight, seeing as epic is relative and most people will disagree about what's epic. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 01:13, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

when you get to the roof of ikana castle you can go right to get a heart piece or left to see a paper plane on a pillar Oni Dark Link 07:33, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

I just came up with another idea. What if, for all the characters who won temple of courage fights we say on the page of their article we say that they won a Temple of Courage fight? Like for Link we could say "Temple of Courage winner of week 44" or something like that? Or if we had something like a Temple of Courage hall of fame? --Twilightwizard0309 (talk) 11:17, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Could get a bit tedious after a while but I like where you're going with that. --Flashpenny (talk) 14:07, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

If anyone knows how to use Windows Movie Maker (admittedly I don't) then perhaps we should do that thing they do on the SPIKE TV show Deadliest Warriors. If anyone's seen it you know that after deciding who the winner is they have a simulation showing the two combatants fighting with the winner killing the other. If someone could figure out how to do that with the ToC that would be cool! Ain't sayin' that it's going to happen but it would be cool. --Flashpenny (talk) 14:09, 7 May 2009 (UTC)

  • sarcastic*Wow, you're so funny. Have you ever thought of doing standup?*end sarcasm* If you actually watched the show I mentioned you might get a general idea of what I may be aiming for. --Flashpenny (talk) 21:35, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
The first idea (the one where we put something on the page saying that they won the Temple of Courage) sounds cool (as long as we don't do it on the article proper, but rather as a small thing up in the top right corner, like the featured article thing), but what we do for two-time winners? Just have two of those things? As for the second idea, doesn't really appeal to me, since all that would really do would encourage newer people that didn't read the rules clearly to think it's a real fight, not a popularity contest, which is kind of the opposite of what we're trying to do. I mean, it's fine when people are just insisting on doing a real fight scenario, nothing we can do about that, but I'd prefer it that nobody got the wrong impression and voted based on a real fight just because that's what they thought they were supposed to do. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:17, 7 May 2009 (UTC)
Agreed User:Ccbermanzzpedia May 7th 2009 8:00
Hey, I've seen Deadliest Warrior, and I think that that's a pretty cool idea. Unfortunatly, it could get complicated, and we would have several bloody murderers after us for giving them such a ridiculous task. Plus, what purpose would it accomplish? Finally, why am I writing an essay here which I so do hate? Sincerely, Watcher.
It was a suggestion! Never say it's going to happen, besides I don't think that kind of technology is available. Just saying it would look cool. Also as I pointed out to CCbermanzzpedia on my talk page we could probably just put up that the winner won via popularity and that the ToC is a popularity contest in a messageat the beginning. --Flashpenny (talk) 14:03, 8 May 2009 (UTC)

It's just an idea, not everybody has to like it or agree with it, or something. Maybe someday we should have a poll about it, or we could have a poll right now and see what people think. It doesn't sound to hot to me, but I don't say I'm not welcome to the idea, or not-understand why it isn't "coo". Just, an idea K? Apparently the Bomb Fishes and Real Bombchus are a bunch of idiots with no future who got recruited for the Great Hylian/Terminan Al Qaeda. lol --Flashpenny (talk) 23:47, 10 May 2009 (UTC)

Week 45: Death Sword vs. Gomess

Death Sword
Winner!
"Death Sword!"
Death Sword
29.5>16.5
Gomess

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We are now proud to present to you the 45th week in the TEMPLE OF COURAGE! All right! Keep your eyes peeled, folks, or you might just miss it.

Lurking in the purple corner, we have a floating, giant sword. Hailing from the Gerudo Desert, its wielder hates the light, loves the fight, and is 100% creepy and dead; it's DEATH SWORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRD!

And in the gray corner, a shadowy figure emerges. Protected by bats, this creature adores its scythe, enjoys the fight, and loathes light; it's GOMESS!

So, two of Hyrules most mysterious, shadowy creature squaring off in pitch darkness. Who shall win this duel of fierce shadows? That, my dear voters, is up to you! The clash is about to begin, so LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE! Yeah!

Votes for Death Sword

  1. I'm voting for Death Sword, I don't know anything about Gomess, and Death Sword looks so much cooler anyway User:Iriadinh, Hero of Air
  2. I Loved Gomess and I like Majora's Mask more than Twilight Princess, but there is no denying the badass that is Death Sword. --EveryDayJoe45 03:38, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  3. Gomess may command bats, but Death Sword, if you watch what happens once you beat him, IS bats. Plus, he looks so much cooler.MaloMart
  4. Short and simple answer: Death Sword is better (IMO)Darkest-Link123 13:28, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  5. I've gotta go for the undead demonic swordsman. Dark Ridley 13:57, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  6. They were both pretty easy, but I like Death Sword better because you can alternate between wolf and human. Mrs.MikauShadLink 17:21, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  7. I just like the sword. Metroidhunter32 20:32, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  8. first of all he is sooooo cool looking, and second of all anything from the gerudo desert is cool Nayru goddess
  9. Death Sword is waaay cooler! User:Linkgirl123
  10. Death Sword is awesome, like me. We awesome people have to stick together. If you're awesome, vote for death sword, even though I like Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask User:Hello Doggy
  11. Wow, Death Sword is a frickin' dead guy wielding a giagantic sword! C'mon! Sincerely, Watcher.
  12. Death Sword ROCKS!!!!.Darth Boba Fett 16:06, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
  13. I'm voting for Death Sword because: He is a giant ghost with a sword, and you can't see him most of the time, and I don't know what or who Gomess is. User:11drew511
  14. I liked Death Sword better because he's more likable in my book. Gomess was just some Grim Reaper wannabe who had the same music as every other mini-boss. Death Sword however was easier but I still got that music and that demonic roar of his stuck in my head. After beating him I reset my Wii and played through Arbiters' Grounds again for the sole sake of doing the battle again. --Flashpenny 21:48, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
  15. K. this is a better fight than last weeks, and while they both rock, i like death sword better. this is just a popularity contest, no? User:Ccbermanzzpedia April 29, 2009 6:48--i always forget (UTC), (UTC)
  16. Quite Frankly, Death Sword could easily take out all of Gomess's bats, and shatter that crystal with a single swipe. An dI can't see Gomess doing much with small scythe against an invisible super-natural being. - User: Swordsmanr
  17. Death Sword gets my vote. He's a good mini-boss and has a nice fight. Comboing your Wolf skills and your Sword skills, along with whatever else you can think of, I like to mess with him by using my Hero's Bow... lolz -- User: Hyperwire
  18. Death Sword is more realistic so I choose him.--Twilightwizard0309 12:57, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
  19. While Majora's Mask was an awesome game, I have to go with Death Sword because he is way more creepy, as well as his sword is freakin' awesome! While Gomess was a cool mini-boss, Death Sword scared the crap out of my sister when i first beat him. So he gets my vote.- BulbinSlayer
  20. Even though I haven't played either games, Death Sword seems a lot cooler. --Majora4Prez 17:20, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
  21. The thing about Death Sword is, he can kill anyone except Wolf Link because you need senses to see him.Bkarcher97
  22. Death Sword - One of my favorite (mini)boss' in TP, until I played through the fifth time, I didn't notice the awesomeness, now he's one of the best. --Guru-Guru Traveling Musician With Odd Instruments 15:40, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
  23. Ahh, the Death Sword. Awsome boss, even though its a bunch of flies.Plus, using an action replay to use the Death Sword instead of the Master was FUN with a capitol F,U, and N. Ive played them both and Death Sword ROCKS! said the Dark F.D. 23:44, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
  24. DEATH SWORD'S EVIL ROAR WILL HAUNT MY DREAMS SO BOOYAH TO DEATH BLADE!!!! Zeerotytus (talk)-01:03, 4 May 2009 (UTC)
  25. I've beaten both, and I like Death Sword just for the nasty surprise you get the first time you cut the ropes attached to the sword. MoscowModder (Talk)

  1. I'm only voting for Death Sword because he (he??) looks cooler...and i have no idea who Gomess is.
  2. Gomess is just a bunch of bad bats. I HATE KEESE AND BAD BATS!
  3. Gomess wouldnt even see Death swords actual form. That sword could easily swip aside a few bad bats and kill gomess. DER!
  4. I think death sword is much worse than Gomess.. Did someone put a seal on him? No. They did that to Death Sword, so he must be scarier. Besides, Death Sword doesn't really have a weakness. I mean, yeah you can kill it by smashing his head, but everyone would die of that. Gomess has an orb that is his weakpoint.
  5. death sword just looks cooler. I mean, Gomess is just bats
  6. Death Sword because of his badass blade.
  7. Lets see.......A freakin' insane spirit weilding a god forsaken sword named Death Sword, or a giant bat named Gomesses? Concidering where my vote is, I am going with Death Sword all the way man.(Mr.Fairy)
  8. A ghost w/ a giant sword is way more badass I think Gomess fans r weird.
  9. Death Sword is a cool fight because u must be normal link and wolf link 2 win, and I don't know what is gomess

Votes for Gomess

  1. Gomess is cooler.I needed to beat him 3 times at the stone tower temple.I always forgot to save my game.User:Zelda phoenix
  2. Gomess is WAY cooler.User:Fierce Deity Einar
  3. This was a tough decision for me, since I love both, but in the end I've got to go with Gomess. Not only does it look badass, but it's actually difficult (Death Sword not so much), the Keese were a nice touch, and it's one of my favorite minibosses from one of my favorite dungeons from one of my favorite regions from one of my favorite worlds from my absolute favorite game. Death Sword is awesome, but Gomess is many times more awesome. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 03:59, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  4. I'm going to have to go with Gomess. Considering it's probably teh one that took the life from Death Sword...—Triforce 14Triforce4 05:03, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  5. I clearly vote for Gomess. He/it is the best (mini-)boss fight in Majora's Mask without question, and I remember the battle to this day. Death Sword on the other hand, I had to look up to even remember at all. Gomess eins with ease.
  6. I'm the kind of dude who decides who wins in a true fight. In that case Gomess would totally win since he can only be killed with light (specifically Light Arrows). Last time I checked Death Sword doesn't have either. Death Sword on the other hand is killed when his sword (which looks more like an elongated meat cleaver than a sword) is destroyed. So Gomess just has his Big Bats steal it, fly it over and once strong scythe swing later... You catch my drift. --Big Poe=Nice Guy 11:39, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  7. i could give reasons but you know. Oni Dark Link 15:53, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  8. Gomess is original. I get the feeling that Dark Sword is a copycat. --Agent Clyde
  9. Death Sword was really, really easy to defeat. Gomess on the other hand has always been one of the hardest battles in Majora's Mask for me (and I've beaten the game a few times) besides Gomess looks much cooler and has generally more awesome attacks and a huge scythe whereas Death Sword really broke down for me after I realized that it was some random dogface guy in a cape who throws two pathetic red tennis balls at you. Portal-Kombat
  10. Gomess is a badass. I mean, that character design looks pretty good even by today's standards. It freaked me out, that's for sure. Death Sword just feels like something ripped off from Final Fantasy XII...boring generic design and function. --AuronKaizer! 23:41, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  11. Death Sword is cool and all, but Gomess is much more cooler, it's made of bats. And only vunerable to Light Arrows. Awesome.
  12. Well I just prefer a demon made of bats instead of a demon who turns into moths. Scythe beats sword.--Shade Link 21:20, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
  13. Death Sword has a briganish look, gomess looks like a god of death. Dialask77 Ice Wizard Ice Sorceror 13:24, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
  14. Death Sword was really easy, but I forgot to stock up on arrows and magic when I fought Gomess so he was EXTREMLY hard. Plus I love scythe enemies. Oddball464 20:27, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
  15. I shall vote Gomess, as I can remember the epicness of his battle tons of times more than that of DS (mainly because of the incredible awesomeness of his settlement, the Stone Tower Temple) and plus, Gomess is pretty overlooked, people should do some more research before just giving up their vote to swordy there. --Caiaphasthesympathist 08:31, 29 April 2009 (UTC)
  16. Hmm.. I just like Gomess more.--Windu223 17:28, 1 May 2009 (UTC)

  1. Gomess is waaaaaayyyyy cooler than death sword. Plus, Majora's mask and ocarina of time are my all time favs, twilight princess is just confusing and dumb =P.
  2. Majora's mask was a lot better than twilight princess and Gomess was awesome. Death sword was cool too but not as cool as Gomess.
  3. Let's see, Gomess was harder, more memorable, and had a scythe the size of Alabama. Not to mention it took actual light arrows to beat him. That's not to say Death Sword ain't cool, though.

Peanut Gallery

MaloMart, I'm not trying to change your mind or anything, just informing you. I'm pretty sure that Gomess is indeed a bunch of bats, and in addition, Death Sword is actually a bunch of insects if you look closely. Just so you know. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:03, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Well for the fight intro, technically Gomess is not from Hyrule. Dark Ridley 13:56, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

What do you mean technically? Gomess is not from Hyrule period. He's from Termina. --Big Poe=Nice Guy 14:12, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Where'd I say that Gomess was from Hyrule? I don't remember writing that... Sincerely, Watcher.
You didn't put Gomess' location on the opening ballot. Also I was correcting Dark Ridley who said that technically Gomess is not from Hyrule. The word "technically" means that in a way that's probably thinking outside the box. Quite frankly Termina is an entirely different place from Hyrule so it's not technically different, it's different period. --Big Poe=Nice Guy 20:09, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

It's a simple mistake, let it go. PS - I bought this book on video games and philosophy, and in the first chapter, it mentions a whole wiki dedicated to Zelda and it tells people to check it out. Is that us? Yay or Nay? Sorry if I shouldn't be posting this here, I don't know wear I should. Mrs.MikauShadLink 17:25, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Let it go?? Jeez, people have no respect for us OCD people. By the way, best place for that would probably be the forums. On that note, however, they're either talking about us or Zelda Wiki. Somehow I find it more likely that they're talking about Zelda Wiki, since we're a branch of Wikia and they'd likely know about a wiki for almost every gaming series out there if they were talking about us. Hang on, don't they provide a URL or something? Or do they just expect people to search "Legend of Zelda wiki"? Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 19:18, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
is that The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy or a book on video game philosophy in general? Oni Dark Link 21:02, 27 April 2009 (UTC) ps gomess forth voter needs to sign.

The Legend of Zelda and Philosophy, yep! Mrs.MikauShadLink 22:54, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

It's ZeldaWiki. That's pretty old news, really. Heh, guess the writer made a wrong turn at Albuquerque. --AuronKaizer! 23:41, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

what death sword like thing can be found in final fantasy xii? Oni Dark Link 18:42, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

I think he was saying that its design made it look as if it were from Final Fantasy XII, not that it directly resembled something from that game. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 21:54, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
I really don't need anyone to speak for me. What I meant is that it might as well be something from FFXII, in that its design is just like something out of that game. Translucent ghost wielding a sword inscribed with magical runes. TP lacks that overall creativity as far as enemy designs go. That being said, Gomess looks like something from earlier FF games. --AuronKaizer! 22:00, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
I wasn't speaking for you, just saying that I didn't think you were saying what Oni Dark Link thought you were saying. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 02:21, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

damn final fantasy making everythings design first. Oni Dark Link 11:39, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

This is a really close battle this week. --EveryDayJoe45 18:57, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

K. this fight is better than last weeks, or at least in terms of fairness. maybe i should say that this is a more equal fight in terms of popularity, as i keep saying this is just a populariity contest, with the spin that these "combatants" are fighting in actual match. still a lot better though. User:Ccbermanzzpedia 5:20 on May the 1st the exact year it is in 1556(2009) (UTC) didn't forget it this time--(UTC)

Wasn't this one your idea? --EveryDayJoe45 22:45, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Nope, this one was mine, remember? --Caiaphasthesympathist 22:48, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
Now I do. I forget this stuff though. --EveryDayJoe45 23:08, 1 May 2009 (UTC)
K. lets just go with who's ever idea it was, and it was a good one. lets just hope that maybe this person will come up with more ideas like this one in the future, sound good enough for ya? User:Ccbermanzzpedia WOW! Same date and about two and half hours later! And I didn't forget it: (UTC)

very close battle this week but it looks like death sword is slipping ahead. is gomess's room the only room in ikana temple not visited up side down and right side up? i think it it Oni Dark Link 13:05, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Kind of disappointing, because the fight was really really close for a while. And yes, I'm pretty sure that it is the only room not visited from both points of view, only upside-down (not including the room where you fight Twinmold, although that's arguably not technically a room per se). Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 17:55, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
and the master garo room could be the same as twinmold room too Oni Dark Link 19:32, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Yes, the room where you fight the Garo Master is the room where you jump through the hole to get to Twinmold. What I'm talking about is the little desert area where you actually fight Twinmold. But again, that's generally considered a pocket dimension and not really part of the dungeon per se. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 01:17, 3 May 2009 (UTC)

Wow, Death Sword is actually winning. Normally in these contests the competitor from the more popular game pulls ahead (note: I base popularity on best-selling Zelda game to least best-selling Zelda game e.g. OoT, MM, TP, TWW, etc.). Quite shocking. --Flashpenny 20:44, 2 May 2009 (UTC)

Holy cow, you and Big Poe are extremely similar. Are you related or something? He always makes statments like that, not that its necessarilly a bad thing. And by the way, I think TP has sold more copies than MM. --EveryDayJoe45 20:48, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
No we're best friends. By the way we do have our differences, one of our similarities just happen to be our theories corresponding with the Zelda series. Differences include the fact that I'm less likely (though not unheard of) making pop culture references frequently, I'm much nicer, I'm not eternally sarcastic (but sarcastic nonetheless) and I'm less likely to start rivalries with users on this site (those things between Big Poe and Xykeb always made me laugh whilst I was surfing this site as a blockee). --Flashpenny 23:06, 2 May 2009 (UTC)
Not really, Twilight Princess things tend to win in general, since I think a lot of non-Zelda fans are attracted to the good graphics and thus more people play the game, so Twilight Princess ends up being more popular. But yeah, look back in the archives, except for a couple of select exceptions (mostly with Twilight Princess things that just happen to not be very popular), Twilight Princess stuff usually wins. Also, I attempt not to use the term "rivalry". Rivals are generally people competing for a similar or identical goal (not always, but generally), and that doesn't really apply to Big Poe=Nice Guy and me. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 01:17, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
I think verbal bashes could be included in the term online rivalries. All I know is that you two generally hate each other and that your arguments (and other user's futile attempts to be mediators) make me laugh my head off. And as for the popularity thing: let's put it this way. Which would you say you had a better time playing: Ocarina of Time or Twilight Princess? Which one was more challenging? Which one had an overall better soundtrack? Which one had a more concrete villain? I rest my case. It's also the same reason why I think Majora's Mask is better. Those are the qualities that make a good game, not graphics. Graphics have practically to do nothing with video games aside from marketing-obsessed lifeless geeks. --Flashpenny 02:25, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
It depends on your definition of rivalry really. But I just don't think the term rivalry fits in general. Back to the point though, while Big Poe=Nice Guy has been very open of his "hatred" of me, I actually don't hate him as such. I consider him immature and lacking in tact, but I don't dislike him per se. As for the popularity thing: first, you do realize that that's all relative, right? I'm sure there are people that found Twilight Princess more challenging, or thought it had a better soundtrack than Ocarina of Time, or think that Zant was a great villain and that the plot twist with Ganondorf was great, or thought that the game was better made, or thought it had a better cast of characters. True, most people think that Ocarina of Time was better, but it's definitely not a given. Second, that's not popularity per se. There are plenty of games that are fantastic in all the ways you mentioned and more, but aren't really popular. And third, I think you may have misunderstood me: I didn't say that graphics made a game. I don't care about graphics in the slightest. I'm just saying that a lot of people these days do for god knows what reason, and a lot of those "marketing-obsessed lifeless geeks" flock to Twilight Princess because of its good graphics. That's what I meant when I said that Twilight Princess was very popular, because it attracted an audience other than the people that were already Zelda fans.
Oh yeah I'm not saying that some people probably think TP is better than OoT (especially if one hasn't played OoT in the first place) but still. Xykeb let's put it this way for future reference: when some is talking about that they do mean relatively speaking. For example I said it's a better game in most people's opinions and its true because I'm speaking relatively. Also if you think Big Poe-Nice Guy is more of a nuisance then wouldn't it make more sense to politely inform him of his flaws in a way that doesn't sound like it's a comeback? That's just me though. (P.S. Remember to sign your comments). --Flashpenny (talk) 23:48, 3 May 2009 (UTC)
