Week 66: Granny vs. Syrup[]

Granny
Winner!
Granny!
Granny

16>13
Syrup (Oracle of Ages & Oracle of Seasons)

LAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Courtesy of Zeldapedia, we bring you the 66th near-consecutive week in the (all together now!) TEMPLE. OF. COUURRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!!! And this week, we have a fierce battle between two vicious wiccas; two brides of Satan; the wicked witches of any compass direction you please; yes, my faithful audience, this week in the Temple of Courage, we have for you two famous witches of The Legend of Zelda lore, who will get out their walkers for this one final showdown of terrible, bloody death! Now, the tale of the tape...

In the blood-red corner, we have a mysterious old woman who can be found in the darkest corner of Kakariko Village...creator of the ultimate in potion-making, the Blue Potion, and owner of a fierce pet tiger as well as possible relative to many characters...THIS....IS...GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!

And in the opposite corner, in some kind of neutral yellow, we have a wizened old witch who frequently makes appearances. Together with her apprentice Maple, she sells the finest and most esoteric potions of the distant realms of Hyrule, Labrynna and Holodrum! Quite likely to turn you into a spotted toad...THIS...IS...SYYYYYYYYYYYYRUUUUUUUUUUUP!!!

Now you know all that there is to know about our two fierce magic-wielders! I feel as though I've said enough to make my point, so feast your eyes upon a BLOODUS CARNAGUS MAXIMUS! LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLETTTTTTTTTTTTTTT'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMBLEEEEEEEE!!!!

Votes for Granny[]

  1. It was the Blue Potions that helped me survive the final battles. Besides, she has a pet tiger and a cool store! Portal-Kombat
  2. Voting for Granny, for she is part of the Biggoron Sword side-quest.(She is also a character in MM). Haru Mclean Namikaze | talk | Kanji: ???? ? ? ?????, Romaji: Namikaze Hantou Makurin
  3. I vote for granny. She is funny in MM.--Zelda phoenix the heroine of time 15:13, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
  4. I've never really liked stereotypical witch characters. Granny is somewhat original. P.S. I think living in Kakariko Village makes her the wicked witch of the northeast.--MaloMart (talk) Malo 00:43, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
  5. I don't know, I just like Granny more. Metroidhunter32 02:03, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
  6. She has a tiger. For a pet. Besides, I never really met Syrup......--Marou239 (talk) 00:08, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
  7. This was a really hard decision, but I'll go with Granny. Because she's currently behind, and it's easier to get money to buy her potions in OoT than in OoS. Oddball 464 02:50, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
  8. Syrup has apeared in more games than granny but still i like granny moreUser:Longhorn Velez]
  9. Well, I haven't got anything useful from Syrup yet in ALttP (since I can't find Sahasrala to present my first pendant), but without Granny's blue potion, I would've died or run out of magic (in the latter case, I'd have to get myself killed anyway so I can do the fight) against Ganondorf in OoT. --Majora4Prez (talk) 00:38, September 30, 2009 (UTC)
  10. I don't know... I guess I just like her cat. And the game is better. Blue potions are pretty cool. Twili Tetra
  11. Blue Potion > Magic Powder. Midna Rocks
  12. I always loved the kitty. I also love the Terminan counterpart. User3000 (It's me. I'm too lazy to log in.)
  13. Granny's counterpart is awesome. She's smart enough to avoid eating Anju's cooking and she can put even Link to sleep. The Midna (talk) Midna Laughing 02:09, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Anonymous votes[]

  1. My vote goes to Granny because she is more of chemist or alchemist (like the vote for granny says) and thats cooler than Syrup's simple Witch concept.
  2. I like the pet tiger. And she strangly looks less ugly yhen Syrup..
  3. Pet tiger!
  4. Majoras mask is superior again.
  5. She's Got a fricken' pet tiger! she makes the blue potion! she aids you in the quest for a sword greater than the Master Sword! what more could you want? (and who the heck is syrup?)
  6. The Biggoron Sword and Blue Potions... They were really, REALLY handy on my three-heart challenge. My vote goes to this one.

Votes for Syrup[]

  1. She's just made lots of cool appearances in which her items were very helpful to me. Besides, she's at least acting the part with her stereotypical clothing and dialogue...Granny's a witch in name only; she's more of an alchemist or something. --AuronKaizer! 21:03, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
  2. She makes weird stuff. Diachronos (talk) 21:13, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
  3. I like Syrup more. But also lets try to see if something can beat OoT for once. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 21:17, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
  4. I never really needed anything Granny could give to me, but Syrup's magic powder really helped me out of several tight spots in the later dungeons. Jedimasterlink (talk) 23:02, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
  5. Syrup pwns all.--DarkTriforce (talk) 00:36, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
  6. Syrup is just a better, more well-rounded witch. Plus, she's related to Maple. And Maple's awesome. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 04:41, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
  7. In OoS, I would not have survived Twinrova, Onox or Ganon without her magic potion. Oh, and sorry for this old bias, everyone, but anyone who appears in ALttP get's my vote!--Redeadhunter (talk) 15:05, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
  8. I think she should make another apperance sometime. When was the last time we seen her. Minish cap i think. And why did they drop mapel. She was great i defintetly want to see those witches in another game Oni Dark Link 17:52, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
  9. Syrup makes a better stereotypical witch. And Granny only shows up in two games, and only one where she sells potions. I like her character better, but she isn't really a witch. User:HeroofAwesome
  10. Syrup is better because her potions are (usually) inexpensive and although she is harder to access (Lake Hylia in the Minish Cap) her potions are well worth it (Big Octorok would have been near impossible without her Red Potions) and she looks more like a with to me. --Voraciouscrawmad (talk) 19:53, October 2, 2009 (UTC)
  11. Syrup is more "usefull", Granny is only good for newbs buy a blue potion before battling Ganondorf first time CaioNVObtained Triforce Piece
  12. Syrup has been in far more games than Granny, and she makes more magic stuff than Granny does, as far as I remember. And her assistant, Maple, is far more likely to kill you by crashing into you than Granny's tiger kitten. Sir Real

Anonymous votes[]

  1. Syrup has a hat! Plus she played an important role for me in AlttP, I couldn't have gotten 1/2 magic without her, whereas I never actually got the biggoron sword til the second play of OoT, and that was honestly just for fun.
  2. I too have never used Granny (or even stopped by her areas), in either game, whereas I have used Syrup nearly every time I could. One vote for the witch with the "sappy" name!

Peanut Gallery[]

Thanks to whoever did this. I don't know much aboyut Syrup.--MaloMart (talk) Malo 23:13, September 27, 2009 (UTC)

You could just read the article you know :P --AuronKaizer! 23:15, September 27, 2009 (UTC)
Haha. Haru Mclean Namikaze | talk | Kanji: ???? ? ? ?????, Romaji: Namikaze Hantou Makurin
That so sad. Granny has only been in one game while Syrup has been in 5, and she still is less known. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:00, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
That's what happens when you create one of the best games ever. One near-perfect game beats five really good games, I guess. --AuronKaizer! 01:01, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
Don't blame me! I'm planning to play the Oracle games next! I'll know who Syrup is!--MaloMart (talk) Malo 01:15, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
To be honest, you actually don't even need to meet her in Oracle of Ages (she just runs a shop, which you never have to visit), and you only need to meet her in Seasons if you want to do the trading quest. She plays a more substantial role in other games like A Link to the Past, Link's Awakening, and The Minish Cap, where she gives you important and/or necessary quest items. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:28, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Don't mind me, but Granny's colors are different. This sounds silly but I may not vote because of it, I mean it just messes me up >.> Would anybody mind if I changed Granny's colors? If you do then just undo it, no biggy.-- C2 / CC 03:24, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Don't understand it at all, but not like I care or anything. Just thought that people wouldn't want to strain their eyes too much. --AuronKaizer! 13:51, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

"Two brides of Satan"? Is that appropriate?--Redeadhunter (talk) 15:10, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, "Satan" isn't a copyrighted term anymore, so it's all right. --AuronKaizer! 15:21, September 28, 2009 (UTC)

Alright, no offense to anybody that did this, but it's really ticking me off that people are voting for Granny becuase they liked her MM counterpart. They're different characters people, we're talking about the witch in OoT, not the likeable but completely unrelated (except for her appearance) woman in MM. And no, I'm not just saying this because I voted for Syrup. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 19:36, October 3, 2009 (UTC)

Sorry, XZ... The Midna (talk) Midna Laughing 01:56, October 4, 2009 (UTC)

Week 65: Deku Butler's Son vs. Flute Boy[]

Sad Deku Tree
Winner!
"Deku Butler's Son!!!"
Sad Deku Tree
20.5>18.5
Link and the Flute Boy

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We are now proud to present to you the 65th week in the TEMPLE OF COURAGE! All right! And now, for your entertainment, the Battle of the Lost Boys!

In the green corner, we have a withered stump-like boy. Lost to unknown causes, he was to work with nobility, was the fastest of his kind, and may have been transformed into a mask; it's the DEKU BUTLER'S SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON!

And in the blue corner, we see an anteater-like boy. Sucked into the Dark World, he plays his flute in hope of rescue, can astrally project himself, and is a talented flute player; here's the FLUUUUUUUUUUUUTE BOY!

So, two small boys lost to circumstance shall face off this week. But only one will be found. Who will it be? That, my dear voters, is up to you! I want to stay found, so LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE! Yeah!

Votes for Deku Butler's Son[]

  1. I love the mystery and ambiguity behind the Deku Butler's Son. This is one of Nintendo's better stories; just enough story provided for people to understand what's going on, but not enough to make it blaringly obvious. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:26, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  2. I love running around as Deku Link too much to vote against the Deku Butler's Son. And I don't think I've ever actually seen the Flute Boy. Diachronos (talk) 12:33, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  3. seriously i dont think many people know who flute boy is and is there a better pic than that one?? indycolts63
  4. Kay so I dunno who the flute boy is, but either way, the withered up tree dude from the beginning of majora's mask owns. Plus he lives under my bed. He is threatening me to make sure I vote for him. It's really more annoying than disturbing, but either way if I never come back . . . XiCERA was here! (don't be as shocked. . .)
  5. I remember seeing the supposed Deku Butler's Son and tried doing things to it trying to figure out why it's there. Good times. Anyway, I like how he may look like, I like the Deku, I like Majora's Mask, and I don't even know the other guy. The Midna (talk) Midna Laughing 22:29, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  6. MM character coming this way! Nice, but deku butlers son will always pwn, flute boy. Haru Mclean Namikaze | talk | Kanji: ???? ? ? ?????, Romaji: Namikaze Hantou Makurin
  7. In my opinion, the story of the Deku Butler's Son is one of the best side-stories in Majora's Mask. I didn't actually notice the connections and hints until my second playthrough, though... Jedimasterlink (talk) 00:34, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
  8. I wanted to vote for the Flute Boy, but as a loyal fan of Majora's Mask I can't turn this guy down... Portal-Kombat
  9. Well, i just love dekus so i'll have to go with the mask that turn you into one! Hevehoc 15:32, September 22, 2009 (CET)
  10. I love the Deku Butler's Son's backstory too much not to vote for him. Oddball 464 01:25, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
  11. My favorite part about the zelda sereies are the many mysteries it holds. I gotta go with him. The Exterminator (talk) 11:13, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
  12. Though the game doesn't tell you too much about him, I think all the dekus on this game are pretty cool. And you've got to consider the fact that he is quite possibly the spirit in the Deku Mask. If he lives in a swamp, then he's gotta be pretty cool, I mean that Southern Swamp is AWESOME. Twili Tetra
  13. The Deku Butler's Son is one of my favorite side plots in the entire LoZ series. Its subtlety and emotional significance are sublimely placed in an already dark and lonely game. In fact, this sub-plot features prominently in my fan fic I'm currently writing. Him and his mysterious story are the icing on the cake in MM. Deku Hero Small Deku Guard
  14. The Deku Butler's Son is like such a bôss. You can clearly tell that he does not smell of elderberries. Quailord
  15. Though both are tragic, this was the most tragic in my opinion.(Darknut15 (talk) 00:06, September 26, 2009 (UTC))

Anonymous votes[]

  1. hey this guy may or may not be the spirit in the deku mask and i for one like flying... so yeah!!
  2. I think Deku Link is cuter and more mysterious ;)
  3. I love the ambiguity present in his story line.
  4. I dunno, I just like him better. I haven't played either game...
  5. His story is so sad, creepy, and ambiguous, how can you not love him?
  6. I give my vote to this guy cauz I hate that flute boy!!!!
  7. deku son for the win ,i mean come on at the very least he gets a pity vote right?
  8. 50/50 on this, but I gotta vote for the poor tree. the flute player doesnt DIE and deku but's son does; you can see the dad mourning him...(sniffle) Cybrwulf
  9. I love this guy!
  10. they both stink but i like him better
  11. Having played and beaten all but two Zelda games, I can honestly say that this story was one of the only ones that really touched me. Seeing his father there at the end and realizing what happened to him was one of the saddest moments in the whole series. And you didn't even know who he was!

Votes for Flute Boy[]

  1. This guys story is in general just cooler. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 04:53, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  2. LttP was my first and most favorite LoZ game. This was my favorite character because he gives you two items. <span="color:green;">Mr <span="color:yellow;">kmil 11:16, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  3. He makes an apparition in the real world. I like apparitions.--Redeadhunter (talk) 13:46, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  4. Although deku Link is brilliant the actual deky butlers son never does anything notable himself. This guy on the other hand probably has the best back stroy in A Link to the Past (getting lost in the dark world not brilliant but its probably the best one the game) and gives you wuite a usefull item. Oni Dark Link 17:14, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  5. This guy had a great sense of mystery about him and is a part of one of my favourite mandatory side quests in the series. Too little of anything consequential is known about the lost Deku kid. Meh, I'll take Flute Boy any day of the weak. --AuronKaizer! 22:20, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  6. Heh..... took me awhile, and I like his story more.-- C2 / CC 22:22, September 21, 2009 (UTC)
  7. Even though Deku Butler's son was a more mysterious character and you got to play as him (sort of), I think flute boy is better. His story was sad and made you want to fulfill his last wishes. I found myself hoping that beating Ganon would bring him back(I was 8 at the time.) HeroofAwesome
  8. Flute boy really brings back memories...After being dead he could not pass away just because he's flute was still buried...Flute boy where ever you are my vote is for you!!! Longhorn Velez
  9. Man, I love majora's mask, but there's something about flute boy that just... wins my vote. Mr. biggles
  10. Meep! (Meep Meep (talk) 22:44, September 23, 2009 (UTC))
  11. I dont know why but I like this guy better. DragonPhoenix13 (talk)
  12. I like his flute. Midna Rocks
  13. Flute Boy plays such beautiful music on his flute. I would often visit him in that enchanted grove just for the song. Nayru's Maiden
  14. The music flowed through me like a cool summer's brook as the birds tittered in the trees, a harmony to the melodius song. Zeerotytus (talk)
  15. Having seen a flute player and being friends with many in general, he's just so much better. —Baltro [ talk · edits ] 04:36, September 26, 2009 (UTC)

  1. This guy actualy appears in the game. Plus, he's an anteater. That's just wierd.
  2. Tough one for me, but I just prefer this guy, I love ocarinas, so he gets my vote.
  3. I find this one more mysterious, since he disappears when you find the flute and in the dark world he is a tree..
  4. My vote is for the Flute Player. He was so damn mysterious when ou first encounter him.
  5. This guy's flute is so convenient! Plus I never liked the Deku Mask...
  6. I agree with Narus Maiden, the fluit boy plays very good music. The fluit boy was better than the deku butlers son. But i feel pity for him because he was killed before he got to where ever he was going.the fluit boy remides me of skull kid because of the fluit and playing it in a part of some woods. Skull kid is one of my favorite bosses Becuse of MM. That is why I voted for The fluit boy.:)
  7. Fuit boy plays a ocarena and I LOVE the ocarena (INSET HEART HERE)

Peanut Gallery[]

Thanks Xykeb and other person who I forgot their name for calling me scary, cuz it's really nice. . . Just kidding, I think it's funny. But the mask dude. . . SOS! Oh crap, he's coming! And I am a flipping chik. For future reference. --Xicera Was Here!-- (Booya I was first!)

Is there a bigger picture of Flute Boy anywhere? Diachronos (talk) 19:19, September 22, 2009 (UTC)

I doubt it. We could only get a bigger image of him if there's official art of him, which there isn't to my knowledge. As it is, we're stuck with his in-game sprite, and that's the size it is in the game. And AK doesn't like stretched sprites. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 19:35, September 22, 2009 (UTC)
It just looks off to me....-- C2 / CC 19:37, September 22, 2009 (UTC)

Can we use the picture of the Tree thing in the first cave that is assumably the deku butler's son rather then the mask? If you know what I'm talking about.--GOLDEN [[User talk:Zelda311|FIERCE]] DEITY 03:04, September 23, 2009 (UTC)

That was my idea too, but there'd probably be some theory discussions. --AuronKaizer! 14:50, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
What about using the Elegy of Emptiness? It makes a statue of what the mask characters looked like when they died. The Exterminator (talk) 11:18, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Whaddya say now guys? --AuronKaizer! 14:50, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Kudos. Looks, much better. :)-- C2 / CC 18:17, September 23, 2009 (UTC)
Nice new images. Me like. User3000

Halfway through the week and we have a perfect tie. I like the way this fight is turning out. Hopefully it will stay close. Jedimasterlink (talk) 02:28, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Yeah, this is one of my favorite fights so far. Flute Boy took an initial lead, then Deku Butler's Son passed him up, and now they're tied. Really nice. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 02:47, September 24, 2009 (UTC)

Hey guys! Just wanted to say that I'm back now. Don't expect to hear from me as much as usual because I have to practice playing trombone for thirty plus minutes a day.Mr. Fairy

Week 64: Mayor Bo vs. Mayor Dotour[]

Mayor Bo
Winner!
"Mayor Bo!"
Mayor Bo
20.5>17
Mayor Dotour

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We at Zeldapedia proudly bring you Week 64 in the pretty, shiny Temple of Courage! This week, a special treat for our dear voters: two masters of municipal government going head to head!

In the kind of tannish-yellow corner, we have the tough-as-nails mayor of beautiful Ordon Village! He's the only human to ever beat a Goron in sumo wrestling, he's got some wicked body piercings, and he has no control over escaping goats in his village, he's MAYOR BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

And in the violet corner, seated in his throne that looks a bit too regal to belong to a mayor, it's the apathetic, somewhat disinterested mayor of hustling, bustling Clock Town! He hates long meetings, he loves hair gel, he's MAYOR DOTOOOOOOOOOOOOURRRRRR!

And so, two mayors get out from their offices for a brawl to the death! Who will triumph? I don't know, don't ask me, it's your decision. Without further ado, LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMMBLLLLLE!

Votes for Bo[]

  1. He'd deck Dotour before Dotour could even make up his mind to fight.-- C2 / CC 21:25, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Guy who sumo wrestles vs. Guy who is afraid of his wife... Hmmmm.... --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 21:34, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
  3. Bo's the kind of mayor every town needs. "What? You got a problem with my policies? You wanna take this into the ring? Yeah, I didn't think so."--MaloMart (talk) Malo 00:39, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
  4. For some reason I really like Mayor Bo's character. He was just so memorable and for some reason I can see a kind of "roadtrip" movie with Link and Mayor Bo going off to save Hyrule, or going to find a legendary treasure, or going to White Castle, whichever comes first. There's just nothing I really liked about Dotour. He only gives you a Piece of Heart for the Couple's Mask which you go to great lengths to get. Portal-Kombat
  5. Bo's much better. He actually has balls.--DarkTriforce (talk) 21:59, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
  6. At least Bo can make up his mind to do something.Cybrwulf
  7. He gets into sumo matches with Gorons. Sumo matches. With Gorons. The only thing I don't like about him is what he wears we he teaches you about sumo (he could at least put a shirt on or something...). Diachronos (talk) 03:02, September 15, 2009 (UTC)
  8. Sumo, sumo! Seriously, this guy is like a sumo wrestling walrus. That's too cool! Sincerely, Watcher.
  9. Bo is definately cooler and he beat a Goron! Mayor Dotour couldn't even evacuate his people to protect them. Dotour was an awful mayor and was too indecisive. Bo just wins hands down for me. HeroofAwesome
  10. Bo is indeed a bôss. Dotour is weak and smells of elderberries. Enough said (of Justice). Quailord
  11. Mayor Bo has a certain degree of awesomeness for being able to take down a Goron in a wrestling match, even if he cheated. Dotour was actually a platypus, rather than one who smells of elderberries. And he's composed entirely of Phailons. Jedimasterlink (talk) 01:20, September 17, 2009 (UTC)
  12. Bo went head to toe against gorons...gorons rock-eating volcano living beings...he earned my vote!!! Longhorn Velez
  13. lets see:1, He wrestles with gorons;2,He runs the town a heck lot better;3:HE HAS TWO FREAKING HORNS, FOR CRYING OUT LOUD! Sage of thunder
  14. I like his Mustache. Zeerotytus (talk)
  15. I enjoyed his minigame, for 1. Another thing is that he's less of a spaz then Dotour, though he's still a spaz. Turtleman579 23:43, September 20, 2009 (UTC)

  1. The tusks kind of creep me out, but it's legend of Zelda, 90% of the things in it are weird like that. :P Bo was more involved with Link from the beginning, I just generally prefer him...Though I love Dotour's hair, my vote still goes for Bo.
  2. Tusks? Thats his beard. Anyway I like this guy way more. He can actually make up his mind.
  3. Tusks, sumo wrestler, first human to beat a Goron in a fight, he's got my vote
  4. Got my vote cause I feel like it!!
  5. He can take down a goron in a wrestling match, witch is all they do, and he has the coolest mustache known to man. He has my vote hands down.
  6. He was gorgeous in that fight with link, so I could learn how to beat a goron easily and in my opinion, that was really useful
  7. with Bo, their's mooore to loooooooove :P
  8. The man can sumo wrestle, has an awesome mustache, and keeps a pair of Iron Boots in his house! Does Dotour keep Iron Boots around? Didn't think so!
  9. i vote for bo cuz i liked the pointless mini game ^_^
  10. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! MAYOR BO IS AWESOME!
  11. He is so cool! Plus he's in the only game out of these two that I've played. Oh, I forgot to add that he's the only character in Zelda that gets Link to take his shirt off. He is hot!

Votes for Dotour[]

  1. Errr, I dunno, I just like him more. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 21:33, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
  2. I like Dotour more. He has character development and a sweet hairdo. Bo kind of creeps me out a little... The Midna (talk) Midna Laughing 21:42, September 13, 2009 (UTC)
  3. I am more likely to vote for guys whose huge backsides were not shoved in my face during an incredibly needless mini-game. This guy's the perfect politician — rely on a guy in a goofy mask to help you make your decisions for you. Yep. --AuronKaizer! 00:12, September 14, 2009 (UTC)
  4. ...Let's not bring my wife into this. —Baltro [ talk · edits ] 00:29, September 14, 2009 (UTC)

  10. Maybe Dotour has a hard time making up his mind, but that shows he is seeing both sides of the argument and he has the whole town in consideration. Bo might seem like a better mayor, but Dotour is in charge of a bigger town with a larger population, so obviously it would be more difficult for him to do his job, and the town seems to be in pretty good shape. He has to worry about problems like "the moon is gonna fall, what do we do?". What does Bo worry about for his town? "Oh my gosh there's a stampeding goat"? Seriously, Dotour works hard, even if it isn't showed much in the actual game. By the way, too many of you are overlooking the fact that this is not anticipating who would win a fight as much as it is deciding who is better. -Twili Tetra

  2. He has awesome hair and a THRONE. How many mayors have thrones?

  4. Throne he has it
  5. look at the moon on his throne its awesome
  6. Okay people. Who wouldn't vote for him? He has bloody PURPLE HAIR! I mean come on! How awesome is THAT?!

Week 63: Carpet Merchant vs. Medigoron[]

Carpet Merchant
Winner!
"Medigoron"
Medigoron (Ocarina of Time)
10<19
Medigoron (Ocarina of Time)

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! Once again, it's time for a brand new fight here in the Temple of Courage, and for fight number 63, we bring you two competitors with the offer of a lifetime!

In the yellow corner, sitting cross-legged on his flying carpet, hidden in the sands of the Haunted Wasteland, is a man with a deal you won't regret! Yes, 200 rupees for... Sorry! You're going to have to pay to find out! It's the CAAAAAAARRRRRPET MEEEEEERRRRRRRCHANT!

And the tan corner, the second greatest swordsmith in Death Mountain! Yes, the manufacturer of the famous Giant's Knife, the most powerful sword known to- oh, wait, it's broken. Anyway, heeeeeeerrrrre'sssss MEDIGOOOOOOOOOORRRRRRROOOOON!

So, two of Hyrule's biggest scammers meet for a battle royale. Who shall emerge victorious? That, my dear voters, is up to you. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to send some good-faith money to a Nigerian prince, so LEEEEET"SSSS GEEET RRRRRREEEAAADY TO RUMMMMMMBBBBBLLLLLE! Yeah!

Votes for Carpet Merchant[]

  1. Okay, 200 Rupees for Bombchus is a little ridiculous, but at least they're actually useful compared to the extremely fragile Giant's Knife. Plus, the Carpet Merchant is on a flying carpet over a whirlpool of quicksand, whereas Medigoron is just lying on his stomach in a small cave. Diachronos (talk) 16:03, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Normally bombchus arent very usefull but when you try to discover the hidden mechanics of the game they are vital. Although 200 rupees is way too much there isnt many other options once the guy in the market run out (you can always try winn them in bowling but i hate that music and its thrity rupees ago for what could be bombchu) Oni Dark Link 18:14, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  3. I suck at the bowling game so this guy is the only way for me to get bombchus after the shop is sold out. Midna Rocks
  4. Three words: SQUA. DA. LA. Portal-Kombat
  5. This guy just seems to be more mysterious so I'll vote for him. Plus hes losing. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 17:37, September 9, 2009 (UTC)
  6. I'll only vote for him for also being a character of MM. Haru Mclean Namikaze | talk | Kanji: ???? ? ? ?????, Romaji: Namikaze Hantou Makurin
  7. I was torn, but then I saw Portal-Kombat's vote and made the connection and I JUST HAVE TO VOTE FOR THIS GUY. User3000
  8. I like how he is kind of unnoticed. He just floats on his carpet in the desert and sells over-priaced merchandise that you don't really need.(Darknut15 (talk) 19:26, September 12, 2009 (UTC))

  3. I like the awesome magic carpet dude better than the giant rock. Even if his Terminan counter-
  4. part totally makes me mad--this dude is awesome! He knows how to get money!

Votes for Medigoron[]

  1. I will admit, the first time I played this game (but come on, I was 6...), I was totally and utterly fooled by Medigoron. 200 rupees completely down the drain. The Carpet Merchant not so much. I was always more wary about him. The way he made it sound all extragavent and wonderful, I was just kinda "Hmmmm" about it. Or maybe I was just paranoid after the Medigoron scam. Either way, Medigoron's scam was more convincing in my opinion. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 06:10, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Medigoron's image is good enough not to make no picture at all a better alternative. Also, I like this guy and his overpriced, crummy knife. Almost like the ones you can buy on TV Shop. Besides, he's got barrels of explosives at his command. The Carpet Merchant (I thought that was Ellen DeGeneres...) only has at his disposition the most useless and pointless item of Ocarina of Time. Give that one a thinkin' you drunks. --AuronKaizer! 15:47, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  3. I nearly fell for this guy's scam, I was about to buy the Giant's Knife until I heard about the Biggoron Sword quest. It was only after I got the sword that I found out how useless the Knife was. Oddball 464 16:56, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  4. His scam was a lot easier to fall for. Plus, he's a Goron, while the other guy is just a dude with big hair. Still, I think that the biggest scam in the whole series was Beedle and his "Complimentary ID."--MaloMart (talk) 18:26, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  5. Argh, I fell for BOTH scams. I didn't make it 5 feet without breaking that thing! But still, a giant goron vs. a hairy carpet dwelling whatever he is, The goron wins in all aspects of coolness--Redeadhunter (talk) 22:40, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  6. I fell for this scam the first time I played Ocarina of Time. There I was, thinking I had the best sword in the game...and then it broke. I was more overcome with laughter than anger, though, so I'll give this guy my vote. Jedimasterlink (talk) 22:48, September 7, 2009 (UTC)
  7. Medigoron is friendly, but the carpent man don't show the item until I show the money. Damn CaioNV
  8. I actually bought into Medigoron's scheme, while I couldn't even make it to the Carpet Merchant. I guess it's only fair to give him my vote. The Midna 22:55 29 August 2009(talk) Midna Laughing
  9. iI remember Medigoron as the first Zeld aCharacter i can remember, I must have been about 7 and at a friends house, His brother was playing OOT, He was talking to some sort of Big Giant Troll, Five years later, I got the game and realised IT WAS MEDIGRONLeekduck (Da Pwnsome) 20:27, September 9, 2009 (UTC)
  10. I like Gorons. Zeerotytus (talk)
  11. the bigger con artist DRTJR (talk) 03:20, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
  12. It's a giant goron that gives you a giant sword. It dosen't get any better than that Mountdew072
  13. Medigoron has tricked a lot more people into wasting some money. And he can even get people to pay him over and over again. I knew a guy who bought his sword dozens of times before I told him about Biggoron. But the desert guy just sucks. User:HeroofAwesome
  14. Medigoron is completely bôss. I mean, he tricks Link into buying a poorly made knife, and there isn't a thing that he can do about it. Plus, the other dude smells of elderberries? Quailord

Anonymous votes[]

  1. He gives you powder kegs in MM and lets you get to the race track and in OoT the giants knife at least kicks butt until it breaks.
  2. Im in here because I really don't like either... This dude makes you waste 200 rupees for a big knife that BREAKS. I like him in MM though because the powder kegs are needed for beating the game, but he does still scam you because the kegs he sells are 100 rupees, and the goron in clock town sells them for 50... Cybrwulf
  3. Freakin' awesome sword, overpriced Bombchus. I think we know who wins here
  4. Poor Medigoron can't live up to the expectations of his brother, but atleast we know who makes more money, right?
  5. Medigoron is really annoying, and cheap, and I want to kill him, and the sword sucks... what was I saying? But he's still better.
  6. Gorons pwn creepy guys in the desert.--72.160.160.119 02:00, September 10, 2009 (UTC)
  7. well, atleast the knife kicksass until it breaks.
  8. I always like goron's and his powder keg is awesome!
  9. gorons FTW
  10. I have to give my vote to Medigoron. Both merchants price their merchandise at 200 rupees, but the more useless of the two has got to be The Giant's Knife. The carpet merchant sells bombchu, which most people consider useless, but I disagree.. there's plenty of things you can do with bombchu if you try to find them. The Giant's Knife, however breaks after like ten or so swings, and becomes more useless in combat than a rusty butter knife. Bottom line, bombchu can be useful, but the Giant's Knife is not... especially since you can get the Biggoron Sword FOR FREE. Medigoron is probibly sitting on piles of dirty money from that thing by now...
  11. i think the medigron because he gives you a sword the sword is better than dum bombchus!

It's referring to "Squadala, we are off!" the famous line from the wizard in "Link: Faces of Evil", one of the worst Zelda games ever created. If you haven't heard of it before, look up the cutscenes on youtube for a good laugh! There are a lot more famous lines in there, but chances are plenty of people around here have already heard them before and are probably very annoyed at them by now so I won't utter them here. Actually, once you are told of the infamous turdery that are the CD-i games, a part of the fan in you will die. I cannot make any guarantees for what will happen if you play it, however. None have ever been quite the same...mentally, afterwards. --AuronKaizer! 13:36, September 12, 2009 (UTC)

They're CD-i games from Philips Electronics. wiki, wiki. User3000
They're not actually Zelda games. Nintendo declared them non-canon. Thank god for that, by the way. I think I'd have an uncontrollable mental attack if Nintendo considered those official games. Having Zelda II as an official game is bad enough. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 19:45, September 12, 2009 (UTC)
PK may have too much pride to say the lines, but I dont. "Gee, it sure is boring around here!" "Mah boi!" "Dinner!" "Or else you will DIE." Week 62: Kamaro vs. Tott[]

Kamaro
Winner!
"Kamaro"
Kamaro
20.5>7.5
Tott

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! For our 62nd week, we here at the Temple of Courage take a break from our normal fighting and instead bring you a dance-off to end all dance-offs!

In the purplish corner, we have a being who is no longer one with the realm of the seeing and breathing. His one lingering regret is that he could not find a subject unto whom he could pass on his life's work, his dance. Translation: IT'SSSSSS KAMMMMMMAAAAAAAAAARRRRRROOOOOOOO!

And in the red corner, we have a strangely familiar looking dancer. All day and night he tries to use the power of dance to control the flow of time, sadly ignorant of the fact that only song can do that. Lookin' good in tassles, glitter and fantastic hair, it's TOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOTT!

When two masters of the dance meet for a final showdown, who shall stand and who shall fall? That, good people, is up to you. Without further to do, LET'S GET READY TO RUMMMMMMMMMMMBLE! Yeah!

Votes for Kamaro[]

  1. Even creepy half-naked ghosts are better than people imitating Elvis. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 17:12, September 1, 2009 (UTC)

  5. You get a mask and a Piece of Heart from helping him. And he doesn't dress like Elvis, need I say more? Oddball 464 00:18, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
  6. Like most of Majora's Mask, Kamaro is mysterious. Tott is just an idiot. I'm voting for the nearly-naked Ghost who dances atop a giant, frozen mushroom during the nighttime hours. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:29, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
  7. Tott is just annoying. And Kamaro dances better anyway. Jedimasterlink (talk) 01:33, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
  8. I liked Kamaro and his mask. He is very weird, but his song is cool. I like how when Link wheres his mask, it covers Link's whole face, and Link dances. I don't even know who the other guy is! The Midna 22:01 1 September 2009(talk) Midna Laughing
  9. He is a ghost. I am a fan of the undead. Who did you think I was going to vote for?Redeadhunter
  10. Sadly, I do not in the least feel inclined to even out this fight by voting for poor Tott over there. He deserves to get pummeled, and if it is by a 95% naked ghost man, then so be it.Deku Hero Small Deku Guard
  11. Kamaro is so mysterious and strange that he makes you WANT to know more about him. Tott just makes me want to unsee. He is creepy and an obvious elvis impersonator. And Kamaro's dance is cooler and doesnt make me cry inside. User:HeroofAwesome
  12. The weird Indian-ish music he dances to scared me the first time around, and struggling to find the source of the noise, I was beginning to believe it was all in my head. Creepy stuff. Tott, he's just generic and part of the most non-creative way of learning a song ever. Subtletly is nice... *insert Fergie joke here* --AuronKaizer! 16:33, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

  2. teaching the twins the dance was awsome and u couldnt have done it wwithout komaros help plus the way he talks is awsome
  3. Kamaro doesn't make annoying noises when he indicates his dance moves. Also Kamaro gives you, though indirectly, three things, while Tott only gives you one. Kamaro: Kamaro mask, part of Bombers notebook and a piece of heart. Tott: Song of Passing.
  4. Kamaro looks alot cooler. Tott is just plain wierd. And I like to annoy my mom with the music from Kamaro's mask. ;)
  5. Kamaro is creepy in a good way. Tott is creepy in a gay Elvis-impersonator type way, not to mention he has a stupid name. Kamaro is cool, Tott...eh, not so much
  6. Kamaro is way better. He doesn't break dance like an anti-quail. Kamaro is a bôss.
  7. Kamaro is a better dancer. :P

what are we gonna do for the hundreth fight? gotta be something special for sure!-- C2 / CC 01:48, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

In all likelihood, all that'll happen is that everybody will oppose perfectly good fights just because they think that the big 100th fight should be "bigger and more epic" or whatever. Somebody will probably post Link vs. Zelda vs. Ganondorf just because it's epic or whatever, even though it's the most unoriginal fight ever made. I bet that, in the end, we'll just have a normal Temple of Courage fight for the 100th one. It's what happened for the 50th. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 03:08, September 2, 2009 (UTC)
i was thinking along the same lines. but i was hoping someone had a rly good idea haha-- C2 / CC 13:40, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

I think they are both freaky but it's suprising that people are voting for a half naked ghost enough that it's not even close--Green Courage 14:37, September 2, 2009 (UTC)

No, Michael Jackson isn't one of the choices for this one. (Wow, surprised to see someone actually making an effort for interesting colour schemes (read: non-default generic colours) recently. Big ups.) --AuronKaizer! 16:33, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
That would be me that changed the color from just red to something marginally better. Glad somebody noticed. —Baltro [ talk · edits ] 16:38, September 3, 2009 (UTC)
Oh, YOU did it. Not so big ups then. I was expecting Kurt Russell or something. Big ups only go to the rich and jobless. You'll have to settle for small ups. Now that I think about it...what are ups? And how big do they tend to get? Do they taste like Kudos? What do Kudos taste like? Blah. --AuronKaizer! 16:59, September 3, 2009 (UTC)

To anonymous voter #5, please don't be homophobic.--MaloMart (talk) 00:34, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Malo Mart, I think that he/she is not being homophobic, just saying it's stupid.-- C2 /CC 00:36, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
Still, it's rude. I was just giving a reminder that we don't tolerate rudeness here.--MaloMart (talk) 04:35, September 5, 2009 (UTC)
Trying to make IPs less rude never works, I know from experience. They don't generally come back here after voting. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:01, September 5, 2009 (UTC)

Baltro, big ups, sincerely. Actually, it doesn't really mean so much from me, my net connection is poor, so I only see text and images. So, I fail!--User:Redeadhunter
