Week 79: Bow-Wow vs. Deku Baba

Bow-Wow
"It's a tie!"
23.5=23.5
Deku Baba

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! The Christmas rush is over and after a fierce battle for the Christmas crown (Maybe?) we bring you the last fight in the Temple of Courage in the year 2009. To cap it off, we've got a battle of two fierce-looking monsters who would surely overrun and consume the entire populace, were they not confined to one location with only a possibility for very short-range attacks! Draw your eyes to the center ring!

In the grey corner is a cannon-ball like creature bound by a leash of chain. Beyond the menacing façade of this creature is a gentle, loyal being who defends his master fiercely! A vegetarian and hater of monkeys...THIS. IS. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW-WOOOOOOOOW!

In the blue corner is a fearsome plant that eats whatever comes in its way. Once defeated, its parts may be used as helpful tools. A dangerous plant to be sure, and always out looking for fresh meat, if they are stupid enough to come within its short reach...THIS. IS. DEEEEEEEEEEKU BABAAAAAAA!!!

Though their reach may be compromised, there is still a chance that they can escape from the ring and attack you, our faithful audience! Now you know what the liability waiver you signed at the entrance to the Temple was for! Oh, and before too many people get hurt, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRREADY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMBLE!

Votes for Bow-Wow

  1. You know something, Bow-Wow was pretty cool. Wouldn't mind having him as my partner for the entirety of the game at all. And his reaction speed is killer. Deku Babas sure are pushovers. If this were a real fight (although I typically do not condone people judging from that) Bow-Wow would kill all Deku Babas in the worlds before they could read some kind of long book of some kind. Yippee yo, yippee yay. --AuronKaizer! 01:18, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  2. A brain-dead sea monkey can kill a Deku Baba.-- C2 / CC 01:22, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  3. The fact that they were invulnerable in ALttP was epic, and the fact that the Bow-Wow in LA is invulnerable AND ON YOUR SIDE is even more epic. Deku Babas, on the other hand, are the epitome of non-epicness. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 01:24, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  4. The most Deku Babas ever did for me was give me some worthless item after killing them in one of two sword slashes. Bow-Wows gave me some funny memories...don't ask. Jedimasterlink (talk) 01:25, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  5. Simply put: Much cooler. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:26, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  6. I like him more, and would fetch the Deku Baba after the Deku Baba was uprooted. The Midna (talk) The Midna 03:45, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  7. I liked Chain Chomp ever since Mario 64, so I have to side with it. Portal-Kombat
  8. We all knew this would be one-sided. Oh well. Bow-Wow an awesome character to have with you in LA. He made me wish I could get him again after I finished Bottle Grotto. The Flying Rooster falls in the same category.--MaloMart (talk) Malo 08:15, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  9. Seriously though he's invincible. Deku Baba's die in two sword strikes. Bow Wow is the strongest possible creature in the Zelda (and Mario) Universe Oni Dark Link 14:51, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  10. He is the Zelda embodiment of a Chain Chomp, one of my favorite enemies from the whole Mario universe. How could I not vote for him? Also, his name is so cool. Bow-Wow! Ceiling Master (talk) 16:43, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  11. Deku Babas are just wierd. They're so easy to defeat. Plus, all they give you is ammunition for a weapon that you use for about 5 seconds. (aka the slingshot) --Bkarcher97 20:27, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  12. Bow-wow....Awesomeness in a impervious metal shell and a slighty creepy 'Hi, Im going to kill you grin'.Zoma89
  13. I love Bow-bow and Deku Baba he's just simple. User:Chaos Omega
  14. Bow-wow is friendly and cool. He helps against enemies. Deku babas are annoying. --Nunovanhalen (talk) 22:43, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
  15. I'm for Bow-wow because of three things: one, it's a wild iron creature of death (need I say more?). two, you can carry him around on your adventures and IT ATTACKKS FOR YOU!!!!!! This makes it easier to battle and it even eats flowers so you can advance to bottle grotto (i've played LA before). third, one of the easiest monsters in WW is the deku baba (I even took a picture from a safe distance from this dude, and that can take a while with enemies). so I say Bow-Wow will epically win! --[(User:Orangecraz|Orangecraz)] [(user talk:Orangecraz|talk)] time uncomformed, December 30, 2009
  16. I've played LA a million times, and Bow-wow is awesome. He eats your enemies! What's not to like? Sir Real
  17. i like deku baba more but bow wow has got a win coming fooster
  18. Bow-wow has a chain on it. Deku-Baba is rooted to the ground. I think that says a bit. - McGillivray227

  1. These things really sucked in A Link to the Past, but the one in Link's Awakening was totally awesome. I wanted to keep him for the whole game cause he was an awesome ally, and pretty cute for a metal ball on a chain.
  2. Nature cant beat mechanisation, neither can it bite through steel.
  3. Bow-wows are a much bigger threat to Link's life.. I always find it hard to pass them, even though it shouldn't be.
  4. I always liked the chain chomps from Mario. And well, you take it from there.
  5. There invunerable and a pain in the neck so I'd choose them over the deku babas because there just annoying nothing else. Also who dosent like a round ball tied to a chain? Huh exactly.
  6. Plant versus Big Metal Ball. I think the choice is obvious.
  7. whenever i played A Link to the Past, i some how managed to never make to the point in the game with these guys, but i've played almost every mario game there ever was and every time chain chomps were in a game they were AWESOME!
  8. Bow-wows look like chain chomps from mario. That's pretty cool.
  9. Bow-wow is very cool.
  10. Bow wow. He kills things in one hit, and was part of a game with tons of Mario tie-ins. I vote for him.
  11. I didn't really like the deku babas that much at all, and bow-wows seem really cool. The deku babas were just scavengers who would attack you when you were distracted while the bow-wows will actually get you with their skill.

Votes for Deku Baba

  1. The most awesome plant in the world to begin with, the venus fly trap, has super-evolved!--RH 03:03, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  2. The Bow Wow is just a cheap copy of the Chain Chomps from Mario, so I will vote for the Deku Baba.--Grax638 (talk) 04:38, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  3. As much as I like the Mario universe, the biggest drawback of Link's Awakening for me was there being too many cameos. So I'm going to have to side with the plant that could easily be eaten by Bow-Wow. --Birdman5589 (talk) 05:15, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
  4. Decapitation is cool.Solar flute (talk) 21:53, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

  6. I vote for Deku Baba only because I don't know much about the Bow-Wow. Sam samurai
  7. The Deku Baba brings back fond memories of when I first played OoT. Oddball 464 20:32, December 29, 2009 (UTC)

  9. Come on, an enemy from OoT versus the links awakening. This is a real enemy not some kind of cameo. --Green Courage 18:26, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
  10. Bow-Wow was better in Mario, and I love Ocarina of Time. Plus the Deku Baba have a ton of cousin Deku and don't forget Diababa from Twilight Princess. That by itself wins my vote. User:HeroofAwesome
  11. I vote Deku Baba because Deku Sticks are good weapons. User:DekuStickMaster
  12. I vote for deku baba cuz the bow-wow reminds me of a chain chomp from super mario and I hate super mario so much :( --Yorick141 (talk) 21:05, January 1, 2010 (UTC)
  13. It appears all my ZP pals are against me on this one. I for one don't appreciate copied enemies, even on Zelda's standard. Heh, Nintendo messed up in some places. Well I do support the Deku Stick, and anybody like using glitches? I know I do. Well the deku stick, being the awesome weapon that it is, can be used with glitches to turn invincible and invisible. I don't know about you but that's pretty cool. --??? - ? 23:17, January 1, 2010 (UTC), your man of the world.
  14. well oot was one of the first games i played ive played through it with and without help about 8 times and this enemy is a quick way to get deku sticks and deku nuts and also in twilight princess the red ones can run around if u hit them near the baseDevdude (talk)

  1. ITS EATING ME!!!!! GET IT OFF ME!!!!!!
  2. Glomp! oh, nom nom..
  3. I agree with Birdman5589's vote, although Deku Babas aren't a much better opponent.
  4. Okay. Just think about this for a second. The "Bow-Wow" is a big ball with teeth on a chain. All it does is chomp at you until you get away. The Deku baba is a giant, man-eating, slobbering, flower of DOOM! And, in certain variations, it can have its head cut off and still bounce around and kill you. If you've played Spirit Tracks, the Deku Baba are one of the hardest enemies in the game. So yeah I'm voting for the Deku Baba.
  5. Bow-Wow is a Mario copy.And I like plant enemies.
  6. Like everyone else said, Bow-wow looks like a Chain Chomp Ripoff. I've got about halfway through the Deku Tree in OOT, and I must've got hit about five times by these guys (I suck at OOT). Bottom Line is, Deku Babas FTW. ...Even if Bow-wow would totally own the Deku Baba in a fight... And it's going to own the Deku Baba in the votes... Oh yeah, to that guy who posted that thing about taking a photo of this guy from a safe distance, those are BOKO Babas, not DEKU Babas.
  7. Bow wow is just a ripoff of my favorite Mario 64 enemy. I remember Wind Waker when Babas first got the ability to actually bite into you. How I hated them
  8. the carnivorous plants are underrated. and not a cameo. never really liked the chain chomps
  9. Lets hear it for original Zelda content!
  10. I hate Deku Babas ,but bow-bow is a super mario character
  11. I like Deku Babas ,their like a deadlier version of my favorite plant. Plus their not a metal ball that only jumps around.
  12. I don't think i've ever fought a deku baba, but spirit tracks' fire babas are pretty pwnful. I mean, the4 immortal whip can't even beat them!
  13. HE is cool Phantom Zelda

Jedi, why did Bom-Wow give you funny memories? :P-- C2 / CC 01:28, December 28, 2009 (UTC)

CC, what is it about you and asking questions when people ask you not to ask? I ask you. --AuronKaizer! 01:30, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Ah, reverse psychology, it never fails, please don't try to prove me wrong.--RH 03:07, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Well, I just like to push people's buttons. And if reverse psychology never fails to not work in this universe what about an exact opposite parrel universe? Think about it.-- C2 / CC 03:10, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Hmm, it seems I have been bested in the art of messing with peoples' heads.--RH 15:45, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
You don't know what a "parrel universe" is either, huh? --AuronKaizer! 15:49, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Actually, since we cannot be sure whether such a universe even exists, there is no proof there there are circumstances under which reverse psychology fails to achieve its desired effect. As such, RH's original conclusion is still valid. Jedimasterlink (talk) 20:32, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
I never disproved his statement, just offered up a point of conjecture saying that he might not be right. So that means he isn't wrong, just not totally right....whitch makes him wrong, unless he can prove to the entire scientific comminuty as a whole that it is totally immpossible to have such a parrel universe. -- C2 / CC 15:37, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
Conversely, one could say that your conjecture is invalid until you can definitively prove that such a parallel universe exists and that said universe functions with rules that are the opposite of ours. Additionally, even if such a universe exists, there is no guarantee that there is any form of life there, meaning that we can't be sure that there are psyches insurmountable to reverse psychology. =P Jedimasterlink (talk) 20:06, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
In essence if one parrel universe is found, then that mean's there is infinite parrel universe's and that mean's that there is a 100% chance that there is a parrel universe out there were reverse phsycology doesn't work but a 100% chance that it does work in a parrel universe. So, if this is true then he is wrong, completely, but right completely and so is every other theory/law/whatever is right but wrong.-- C2 / CC 13:50, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
Exactly. However, since that statement is conditional--it depends on us finding a parallel universe--how can we be sure that it can be verified? Jedimasterlink (talk) 22:45, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
We can be 100% certain by finding a parrel universe, interacting with it's people(if they are human's) and comparing our histories and their law's of physics.-- C2 / CC 22:48, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
And how do you propose we find this universe and make contact with its inhabitants? Jedimasterlink (talk) 22:51, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
It has been theorized that the parrel universe(s) are connected through space and that it is physically possible to send a ship out, going fast-than-light for many year's would eventually happen cross over to another universe. Or you develope trans-dimmenstional travel.-- C2 / CC 22:55, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
This is worse than when I started that Malo-Talo Gender confusion conspiracy--RH 03:29, January 3, 2010 (UTC)

Wow, for once, something from Twilight princess is losing! --User:Ar7washereTalk

Deku Babas also appear (and more so) in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask Oni Dark Link 17:55, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, but aren't they harder to defeat in those 2 games? --Bkarcher97 20:30, December 28, 2009 (UTC)
...What? Deku Babas aren't exclusive to TP by any means whatsoever. You could say something from TP is losing if Keese, which have been in nearly every game in the series, are losing in a ToC fight, but that logic is so stretched that it hardly applies to the situation. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 21:48, December 28, 2009 (UTC) The dekue baba is weird. phantom zelda
I know, I'm not an idiot! But, if you look at the artwork, you can clearly tell that this is the TP version of the Deku Baba!--User:Ar7washereTalk
I don't mean to be condescending, but if if you look at the image URL, it says it's the OoT/MM version. Just saying. Jedimasterlink (talk) 22:49, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
It looks like the OoT/MM version too. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 23:48, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
There was a Twilight Princess image up but Auron replaced it so both pictures would be art work Oni Dark Link 23:52, December 29, 2009 (UTC)
Is that why? I don't get why that matters, many fights have mixed artwork and 3D Models. My only guess was for a change of pace, or something. Sorry to talk about you behind your back, AK it's a nasty habit of mine.--RH 18:01, December 30, 2009 (UTC)
If they do, it's probably because one of the characters/enemies/bosses/etc. has no artwork. Artwork should always be used before in-game models if there is any. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 00:27, December 31, 2009 (UTC)
I prefer the ol fliping the coin method Oni Dark Link 13:02, January 1, 2010 (UTC)

Why is "THIS" in italics and has a random ' next to it? Ceiling Master (talk) 15:56, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

They must've meant to make it bold, but forgot to add the last apostrophe. To make it bold, you surround it with three apostrophes on either side. Like '''this''' would make this. They must've forgotten or overlooked it, and instead put two apostrophes on one side, making it italicized and have an extra apostrophe- because two apostrophes like ''this'' makes this. Does it make sense? And something like that you can just change yourself, you don't have to worry about an admin doing it or not for mere grammatical or code mess-ups. --??? - ? 17:03, January 2, 2010 (UTC), your man of the world.
There was some kind of ethereal symbolism there that apparently was lost on most people, so no point in keeping it. --AuronKaizer! 22:29, January 2, 2010 (UTC)

Bow wows are exactly the same as chain chomps from mario!

Week 78: Chancellor Cole vs. Zant

Chancellor Cole
Winner!
Zant
"Zant!"
19.5<27.5
Zant

LLLLLLLADIES AND GENNNNNNNTLEMENNNNN!!! The holidays are coming on and in honor of Christmas, we have a special presentation for you! (Huh, what's that you say? It's NOT Christmas-related at all? ...I hate this job.) Erm, what I mean is, it's a perfectly normal (yet awesome) battle between two secondary antagonists in Zelda mythos, famous for disguising their true appearance. They are both Number 2, but tonight (or, one week from now approximately) one of them will walk away as Number 1! The halftime show consists of performances by other Number 2s such as Art Garfunkel, Captain Kirk and...Link. Stupid Gamespot character battle. So yeah, DRAW YOUR EYES ONTO, ERR, TO THE CENTER RING!

In the green corner is a relative newcomer to the secondary antagonist scene, but he's no slouch. A man who loves hats so much that he wears not only one, but two of them! However, this is only to hide his true appearance. A smooth-talking bureaucrat with an agenda, THIS. IS. CHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANCELLOR COOOOOOOOOOLE!!!

In the grey corner is the usurper King of Twilight who fooled everyone into believing he was as calm and calculative as Cole over there until he went insaner than a Montana. Deprived of his meds for a week, you can pretty much bet that he is in a bloodthirsty mood tonight! THIS. IS. ZAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANT!

Make sure to get some off-brand snacks in the concession stand during the halftime show. And now, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMBLLLLLLLE!

Votes for Chancellor Cole

  1. Right from the start you know he's up to no-good. But that point is not required as he wears two top hats. Instant victory right there ladies and gentlemen. User:NotaNinja
  2. Is he a leperchaun? SCORE! ShadowDialga (talk)
  3. The way they tried to dump a last-minute personality change on Zant was pathetic. Both personalities were cool in their own way, but not on the same character with absolutely no transition time whatsoever. Cole was errrr, "interesting" at best, but in the end I couldn't find anything I disliked about him, which is more than I can say for Zant. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 06:18, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  4. He's kind of like the anti zant. Zant tried to have a deep story, confirmed race, motive and backround while cole was just...cole. I mean what is he anyway? The game completely ignores anything and everything about him. The most we can gather from him is that he calls Malladus majesty. Wow this sounds like im giving out about cole now. Im trying to say mysterious is better then half attempted. Oni Dark Link 16:18, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  5. I didn't know which way to go but when I went back and looked at the picture where he first shows his horns it became an easy choice. --Birdman5589 (talk) 17:39, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  6. I haven't actually played Spirit Tracks, but having seen how Zant fails as a character, I have a better impression of Cole. Jedimasterlink (talk) 18:50, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  7. I love spirit tracks, and cole is just awesome. He knows Phantom Zelda's one weakness (magic rats) and he wears TWO top hats. One top hat is cool enough, but TWO!!!!--Hylianhero777 (talk) 15:34, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  8. Zant is crazy. He really creeps me out when he does all that yelling and starts jumping around like a maniac. He's kinda cool, but where are his demonic horns? Huh? User:Ceiling Master | User talk:Ceiling Master 00:37, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
  9. Cole is loyal to the end. blt33
  10. I like Zant and Cole, but Cole did so much better at setting himself up as the villain. The way he acts makes you want to beat him to death with his own hats before you even find out he's the villain, and he plays the part pretty well after that (albeit a lack of screentime; Zant's got him beat there). Plus I love the way his eyes look when he gets "excited" (or whatever the f*** you wanna call it), although they look a little too funny for me to take him seriously most of the time. And he's got probably one of the most badass henchmen of the series; even Ganondorf never found a lackey like Byrne. Diachronos (talk)
  11. Cole has TWO HATS!!! User:Ar7washere (talk) 20:20, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

  1. Zant is insane. Chancellor Cole is (or at least looks) more insane.
  2. Some Zant people say that Cole looks like a drunk leprechaun, or a person who just saw a donut. He does! <---My reason to vote for him
  3. I love Spirit Tracks and Chancellor Cole, he's insane! he looks like he shoots himself for fun! So Cole you rock!
  4. Well, I still have to get Spirit Tracks, but Coles master plan(I HAVE seen TONS of Spirit track videos... well up to the snow realm at least...)was WAY better then Zants. Plus in Spirit Tracks, you ride a train... that (and I can't tell you how much)is WAY better than walking/rolling/running(as a wolf).
  5. Cole was annoying to the extreme in the 1st phase of the Malladus battle. Zant's fight was just recycled from the previous ones. Besides, he doesn't suddenly change for the worse like Zant.
  6. Why I must say this is PREPOSTEROUS, Cole is gentleman. In fact he qualifies as a double gentlemen with his two toppers! Zant is a blasphemous blubbering belligerent bastardy bibulous buffoon!
  7. I have to admit, up till now I was all for Zant, but I realized that cole is an amazingly smart interesting and funny bad guy. He is so sinister it creepy, though i admit zant is by far deeper, cole is just a better bad guy (They are almost even)

Votes for Zant

  1. For the record, Cole is a pretty good and original villain. But c'mon, Zant is a badass that totally outdoes Ganondorf as TP's villain. In fact, they could have easily come up with a better way to give Zant his power and not steal his spotlight away with a dumb last-minute fanservice thing. Ah well, Zant was still extremely cool right up until the end of the game. Oh, and Cole looks like he's seen a tasty donut or something in his artwork. --AuronKaizer! 04:56, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Zant was hilarious, with his insane behavior and all. Sam samurai
  3. Zant is pretty freaky but at the same time awsome. I meen he can take out and control an entire kingdom in the blink of an eye when hes calm. And when he goes crazy he can just bulldoze in his fenzy through anything thrown at him. No offense to ST, But from what it sounds like, Cole is like Agahnim. He has to go get in the in the confidence of the king or such then do his evil deeds. Zant took the initiative. Zoma89 8:06, December 21, 2009
  4. Zant is problably one of the coolest boss fights in the series, and he was also a nice villain. Don´t know much about Cole tho. --The Gerudo Guy (talk) 15:33, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

  6. Almost as hardcore as Dirty Harry or Indiana Jones. With the exception of the fact neither of them get's their cool from some fat 40 year-old magician.-- C2 / CC 16:16, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  7. Zant shouldn't even count as a secondary villian. It was cool that they brought Gananodorf back, but I think Zant stole a lot of his thunder. Some people complain about Zant's personality switch but if you think about it, that really shows how insane and warped he was. Zant for the win! User:HeroofAwesome
  8. Honestly it would take too long to explain this. Nothing against Cole, I just like Zant better.--LapisScarab 20:07, December 21, 2009 (UTC)
  9. What is there to say? Even at first glance, Zant is a much cooler villain! --Brittonshayne (talk) 02:36, December 22, 2009 (UTC)
  10. I really like Chancellor Cole as a villain... I think he's even better than Ganon/Ganondorf! Although Zant was being controlled by Ganon, he was a good villain. Forget about how Ganondorf ruined the end of Twilight Princess- Zant really got to show his potential during one of the early cutscenes and a sequence right before the fourth boss. I've yet to play Spirit Tracks, but I look forwards to it. Portal-Kombat
  11. Blue Stalfos (A Link to the Past)Chancellor Cole looks like a demonic leprechaun, while Zant looks like a mutated fish. Even though Cole looks cooler, Zant has enough power to knock his little green butt all the way to Termina! --Lincas1 (talk) 20:44, December 22, 2009 (UTC)

  16. I'd hate to vote for something from Twilight Princess, but I've never got a chance to know Cole as a character. Zant on the other hand had a good backstory, even if it did make him completely insane. Oddball 464 19:18, December 24, 2009 (UTC)
  17. While Cole is certainly one bad dude, I have to go with Zant. His backstory, his psychotic nature, and his - for the lack of a better word - kickass character design, all come together to create what is easily the most haunting Zelda villain to date. -- Rare Addict (talk) 21: 27, December 26, 2009 (UTC)

  1. I loved Zant. He was cool, and fearsome. When they decided to 180 flip him, I was all: "Oh my frigging god, this is AWESOME!" Since then, I've been practicing his sword fight style. He isn't only my favorite character in this voting, he also is my favorite puppet to be thrown away. (Agahnim, Skull kid, Cole) Plus, the way he breaks his neck is epic.
  2. In a previous fight, i ranted on the fact that many people vote for characters just because they are from twilight princess, but i have to vote for zant on this one. Cole's stupid. He looks like a drunk leprachaun in my opinion.
  3. Zant is a beast, cole looks like a freaking st. patricks day drunk who pees on front lawns
  4. Zant is so AWESOME he will blast the face of the green guy
  5. I would vote for Zant because you never really get to fight Cole in Spirit Tracks. Zant is the best puppet EVER!
  6. I didn't like how he went completely insane, but he is nevertheless one of my favorite Zelda villains.
  7. He is AWESOME and he reminds me of Agahmim kinda.
  8. He was a pretty cool boos. He is my favorite.
  9. Zant is cold and calculating (until he breaks) and cole looks like a leprechaun
  10. I've never played Spirit Tracks and never heard of Chancellor Cole until now so I'll have to go with Zant.
  11. Zant all the way. Honestly, I just never thought of Cole as a credible villain. He's basically nothing more than a servant for Malladus. Whereas Zant was a schizophrenic psychopath. Sure, Ganondorf was given credit for being behind everything in TP, but as far as I'm concerned, Zant WAS the villain of TP.
  12. zant is crazy, but hes winning so im voting for him so go zant i think..
  13. A Possesed Darkness creature against a horned leuphercan? Seriously... - Yoda
  14. Zant is a deep character who is creepy, he just has this dark aurora around him. Despite what some say, I kinda like the character change, he goes crazy with power and this just makes for a more wholesome character
  15. Zant was a puppet but a scary puppet nevertheless. Better than the weird double hat wearing leprechaun.
  16. Zant was definitely better, he had this whole calm and confident vale on first that let him walk through anything because his enemies would be too intimidated to do anything.
  17. Zant ofcourse! When he gets insane, your dead meat!
  18. Cole is A LEPHRECHAUN! A LEPRECHAUN! SERIOUSLY! That is why Zant gets my vote.
  19. Zant is just plain cool. He's got power, two castles, and way too much time of his hands. Never even heard of the other guy

The problem with this match is that people have had time to get to know Zant, while chancellor cole is relatively new. Take me for example, I don't know Cole because I am waiting to get Spirit Tracks via Christmas Present.

I wouldn't say it's entirely un-Christmas related. Cole could pass for one of Santa's elves.--MaloMart (talk) Malo 05:22, December 21, 2009 (UTC)

In the red corner is a master thief feared by all in the land of Termina. Easily recognized by his rictus grin and gimpy walk, he hoards his treasures within his lair and is the inventor of the least Link-proof security system of all time...HE...IS...SAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKON!!!

Be sure to keep an eye on your belongings at all times during this battle lest they be stolen. And now, if you still have your wallet, go buy something from the concession stand...oh yeah, and LET'S GET READY TO RUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMBBBBBBLE!!!

Votes for Lockpicker

  1. He is truly a cool character. You don't need dialogue to make a badass character. And it took me a long time to figure out the whole chest puzzle. Besides, he could zap Sakon with his laser eyes or whatever. Lockpicker, we love you! --AuronKaizer! 23:25, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

  1. i hate majoras mask, so im biased towards lockpicker
  2. If you shoot Sakon with an arrow while he has the bombs, he blows up. I had to reset time because of that and I never liked Majora's Mask that much in the first place.
  3. Come on, seriously, no-one runs like that!
  4. This character is awesome.
  5. A link to the Past is a lot better than Majora's Mask. But who's cynical enough to rob from old ladies (bomb bags, or no bomb bags). This guy ran his own gang of thieves, and made me laugh when I first read his sign.
  6. I think lockpicker isn't getting the respect he deserves. He should get more credit, because he is cooler than sakon.
  7. Sakon looks like a freak.
  8. I've been playing Link to the Past more lately and I haven't played MM yet, but after reading that you KILL Sakon...that's not right. Link's way is not murder, unless its a monster. I have to go with lockpicker cause 1) He gets you an magic bottle 2) He was a thief and now he has a sign and 3) he's plain awesome and 4) Sakon kinda scares me.
  9. Sakon was cool, but this was a fun guy to talk to. heh.
  10. Can never have too many bottles

Votes for Sakon

  1. I find him creepy and slightly annoying, but the fact that you can kill him in MM is cool. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 23:32, December 13, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Never before has a character put so much pressure into a side quest! After meticulously planning out the three-day schedule, it all comes down to a short window of time on the last night, and so many things can go horribly wrong. Plus, he is one of the only NPCs that you can kill (shoot him with an arrow when he steals the bomb bag.) Portal-Kombat
  3. His hideout contained that most annoying part of the Kafei sidequest, but he's the only character you can truly take revenge on. LapisScarab (talk) 23:49, December 13, 2009 (UTC)

  11. The Lockpicker is a cool character, but Sakon´s perpetual grin creeps me, he´s a geniune, ethic-free burglar and there´s a bit of dark humor when you murder him. It´s the only NPC you can hurt and kill for mere fun, and that´s an outstanding fact in itself. The Gerudo Guy

  8. He is REALLY fun to kill
  9. I'm biased because I've only played Majora's Mask, and he's FUN TO KILL!!
  10. I like Sakon beacause his fort is awesome

Week 76: Dark Dragon vs. Stallord

Dark Dragon
Winner!

Stallord

LLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN! We are now proud to present to you the 76th week in the Temple of Courage! All right! And now, for your viewing (and voting) pleasures, we present to you a bout for the World Super-Heavyweight Championship!

In the dark purple corner, we have a massive, evil dragon. The true form of General Onox, he was created by Twinrova, favors hand-swipes and fire-blasts, and treasures the jewel on his forehead; I present to you the DARK DRAGOOOOOOOOOOON!

And in the sandy corner, we have an equally humongous skeleton. The lord of Arbiter's Grounds, he was brought to life by Zant, can blast dark fire, and withstand endless attacks; Let's hear it for STALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLORD!

So, two giant, merciless dragons shall now face off for the title tonight. But which beast is the ultimate? That, my dear voters, is up to you! I don't want to get squashed in the resulting conflict, so LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET READY TO RUMBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLE! Yeah!

Votes for Dark Dragon

  1. This is one of my favorite final bosses in the seres, and to be honest I never thought the Stallord fight was near as good as people give it credit for. It was a good fight but I didn't think it was that special. Besides, Onox himself is just cool. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 00:16, December 7, 2009 (UTC)
  2. One of the best battles of all time and also from one of my favorite games off all time. What more needs to be said. --Birdman5589 (talk) 01:17, December 7, 2009 (UTC)
  3. This boss battle is just insane. It took every bit of gaming skill on my part to beat him (note: this was back in 2001, when I was still having trouble beating games like Tonic Trouble. It does NOT apply to my skills today) I love the Stallord fight, but I could still do it with one hand tied behind my back and the other wrapped around Lucy Liu. I loves me a good challenge and that's why Dark Dragon wins. --AuronKaizer! 05:47, December 7, 2009 (UTC)

  1. Stallord is just gonna win because hes from twilight pricess, just look at the last two rounds, wind waker characters lost every time. I think the only fight a twilight princess character didn/t win was majora vs zant.

  3. Dark Dragon is the beast form of one of my favourite characters
  4. I have no idea who this guy is, but he seems pretty epic in my book. I love what I hear.

Votes for Stallord

  1. This boss fight was really fun. It was likely the best boss fight in the entire game. And he looks a lot cooled then that thing over there. -Twili Tetra
  2. I'm gonna go with Stallord. There were some things, as I've pointed out more times than I should, like the Spinner, that deserved more usage evenly spread throughout the game. But regardless of that, there is no denying that when the Spinner had its moment of glory, it was one heck of a moment. What an incredibly epic battle. Portal-Kombat

  1. Onox was a freak, and look at the stubby displaced arms on the Dark Dragon! Now Stallord is awesome. He can spit dark fire(or extreme halitosis), he is surrounded by what appeares to be the zombified corpses of all the soldiers it took to kill him, and he keeps fighting even after his entire skeletal system besides his head is ground into powder!

All right, all right, I made a mistake. My bad. Sincerely, Watcher.

Ugh, anonymous voter #6 for Stallord is so annoying. I bet he/she would vote for anything from TP over anything from any other game just because TP is the "better game". Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 18:25, December 8, 2009 (UTC)

'nuff said... well at least they have a catch phrase --Birdman5589 (talk) 18:38, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
Hehe, I think I'd risk ZP turning into a totalitarian state only to be able to ban people who automatically vote for TP. --AuronKaizer! 20:38, December 8, 2009 (UTC)
I'd second that motion, but that would defeat the purpose of totalitarianism. Jedimasterlink (talk) 00:22, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
Why don't we have a go at it? If it doesn't work we will just have the normal users rise up against us. We will still be in control, but not "offically".-- C2 / CC 00:24, December 9, 2009 (UTC)
Lol, wonder what think of anon vote #1 for Dark Dragon... --Yowuza yadderhouse | meh 16:36, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

Kmil, we've had people use template sigs in the past and they tend to mess up the numbering. Could you use a normal sig at least for the Temple of Courage? Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 03:28, December 9, 2009 (UTC)

Week 75: Malo vs. Zunari

Malo
Winner!
"Malo!"
Malo
24>11
Zunari

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN! Live from the London Palladium, it's the seventy-fifth week of the TEMPLE. OF. COURAGE!!!!! And this week's battle is between two legendary shopkeepers of The Legend of Zelda lore! Let's get to it!

In the green corner is a diminutive, almost infantile being who possesses great knowledge of business as well as a caustic, sarcastic disposition! From the village of Ordon, the greatest businessman Hyrule has ever seen...THIS. IS. MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALO!

And in the purple corner, a hooded figure from a far-off island who came to Windfall Island to seek his fortune! A merchant whose honor and loyalty to other merchants is indisputable, and who works as an auctioneer at night...THIS. IS. ZUNAAAAAAAAAAAARI!

Our two slick merchants will now battle for the rights to advertise their business on Zeldapedia! And don't forget to stimulate the Temple of Courage's economy by buying something from the concession stand! Now then, let slip the dogs of war and LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRREADY TO RUMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Malo

  1. Malo is an awesome, wacky little devil, and an original character at that. I like the little guy because he reminds me of me as a sumo baby. Zunari is just...weird and is probably related to Tingle in some way. Malo is the superior salesman here. It's not like he paid me off to vote for him or nothing! Erm, look over there! --AuronKaizer! 22:39, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  2. Malo is just a much more interesting character. Zunari is...um cool I guess but Malo is quite simply superior. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:42, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  3. Ahem..."Why Malo is Awesome" by Old Wise Hehn. Malo is simply one of the most awesome characters in all video gaming. Think about it. At his age, what were you doing? Fingerpainting and throwing temper-tantrums? This guy, however, started a successful chain of general stores, built a bridge and bought out the snobbiest shop in Hyrule. Think about what he'll be doing at age eighteen. My guess is that he'll be the first Hyrulean on the moon (excluding Link).--MaloMart (talk) Malo 22:45, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  4. I really wanted to vote for Zunari just because I knew Malo is going to win in a landslide because how is it even possible to think that somebody is better then him. --Birdman5589 (talk) 23:00, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  5. Lessee here...at age 5 (approximately), Malo has the intelligence of a thrity-five-year-old. That makes his IQ...roughly 700. So, he's over four times more intelligent that Albert Einstein if I did my math right. O_O Jedimasterlink (talk) 23:49, November 29, 2009 (UTC)
  6. Zunari sells.....decorative flowers. DECORATIVE FLOWERS. And some flags and statues, even a golden one of himself, which can be used on TWO islands. Two of the... um....forty-nine? And they're all useless and way too pricey. Malo, on the other hand, sells practival items that the player might actually purchase. It also must be noted that Zunari is a freak and Malo is not. -Twili Tetra
  7. you cant beat someone who gives you the hawkeye i mean seriously--Ironknuckle1 00:22, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
  8. I'd vote for Zunari, but Malo bought me out. Portal-Kombat
  9. Malo's awesome, and I always hated how Zunari tricks you into skipping the explaination of the auction. That's not business, that's just cheap! Oh, and did I mention that Malo is awesome? LapisScarab (talk) 03:30, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
  10. i like the music that plays in his stores, plus the low prices. Armageddon1844
  11. Malo is just awesome. My favorite TP character.--DarkTriforce (talk) 00:45, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
  12. Frankly I find Malo's appearance a little... "disturbing". But he's a freaking economic genius. And he kinda promised me a custom-fit set of Magic Armor if I voted for- Don't look at me like that, all the ones he sells in the store are too damn small! Diachronos (talk) 04:40, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
  13. I simply can't understand why anyone would prefer Zunari. I reckon he'd be the founder of Hyrule's first university. --Yowuza yadderhouse | meh 17:51, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
  14. His shop has cheaper pricesLeekduck (vote for me, and you will get a hot dog) (talk) 18:32, December 1, 2009 (UTC)
  15. Malo is so much cooler. And he is about as awesome as any shopkeeper could ever be. User:HeroofAwesome
  16. How many other young children do you know that can open a successful chain of stores? Oddball 464 01:10, December 3, 2009 (UTC)
  17. The better of the two. By far.-- C2 / CC 02:32, December 4, 2009 (UTC)
  18. Malo, hands down! He's smarter, more ruthless and all-round a better businessman! Rovanus (talk) 05:18, December 6, 2009 (UTC)
  19. Malo is one of the coolest characters in all of the series. I'd vote for him any day. Ceiling Master 01:50, December 6, 2009 (UTC)

  1. again, better game, better player. 'nuff said
  2. malo lowers the hyrule shop prices down from like 5000 rupees to a reasonable sum. oh, and anonymous zunari vote 2, he has 2 eyebrows, kind of
  3. this little fella is WAY advanced for his age, as he´s practically a pint-sized Rockefeller. Also, you get some of the coolest items in TP thanks to him and his stores (Hawkeye, Magic Armor, Hylian Shield). Zunari´s only useful item is the sail, and that´s it.
  4. Malo is a frikking AWESOME midget. How could you not like him?
  5. Malo is awesome! He is small and is much cooler.
  6. Zunari talks too much. Malo gave me something to save up my rupees for.
  7. You bought it, and if you're smart, then you bought it at Malo Mart! (also, not the biggest Wind Waker fan)
  8. Malo gave me a peice of heart, a hawk eye, and a hylan sheld, and hes going to guive me magic armor! go malo! p.s. i didnt play wind waker
  9. Malo was actually helpful. And he made a good thing out of a bad situation. I mean, if you were kidnapped by an ugly monster you'd probably sit in the Sancuary crying but Malo, oh Malo, he made a living out of that. And Zunari did practically nothing, came from a cold island, from what, the ice island's head?! Backround story for Malo is just way cooler.
  10. Frankly, I find Malo vey annoying, even more annoying than Midna, Navi and Tatl put together. That's gotta count for something!LunaLink

Votes for Zunari

  1. Meep. Meep Meep (talk) 01:25, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
  2. How can you not respect the 'stache?--RH 03:26, November 30, 2009 (UTC)
  3. One-sided and I find Malo annoying. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:38, December 2, 2009 (UTC)
  4. Eccentric guy with fur coat=AWESOME.--NEGATIVE311 03:01, December 2, 2009 (UTC), your man of the world.
  5. There is no doubt that Zunari wins for me. Although they are both short and difficult to see over the counter...Zunari is better prepared for elements of crazed bargain hunters. Just look at the fur lined coat that he has. No frosty glares, from women who just found out that one of your deals expired the day before, could chill his soul. One vote for Zunari. pauj
  6. zunari is the man with a plan who comes from a distant land. he is also an eskimo. how many eskimos are there in zelda??? --Randy w 234 (talk) 19:34, December 5, 2009 (UTC)
  7. It's just one of those things. I liked Zunari the second I saw him... but for like the first month I had the game I thought when Malo used the small text it was his thoughts and he was some mind-control baby thing and he just freaked me out and I never liked him. Zunari all the way. User3000
  8. hey he's cool (bad pun intended) Oni Dark Link 20:00, December 6, 2009 (UTC)

  1. zunaris better. he has an awesome stache
  2. hes got a hood! Hoods beat mutant unibrow kids any day! HOODS FTW!
  3. I cannot understand why anyone would like to vote for a baby-looking rip-off.. guess only semi-zelda fans who only played Twilight Princess and the cool people who actually know what they are talking about.. Still, I never liked Malo.. his Malo Mart soundtrack was absoluhutly crappish.
  4. Because Malo is a jerk-face poo-head cheapskate.
  5. I prefer Wind Waker over Twilight Princess for one. Zunari is a more competent shop owner (Well, they both required Link's help). Malo takes your rupees, and opens a shop where old people try to reach over the counter? Creepy in my thoughts. Twilight Princess's Magic Armor was based on rupees. Wind Waker's used magic, and Twilight Princess didn't have magic. I'll stick with Zunari over Malo. -Anonymous Person
  6. This guy doesn't yell like the baby. How could a baby run a shop?

this fight is just ridiculously one-sided--DarkTriforce (talk) 00:44, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

I find it amusing that two of Zunari's votes are for his 'stache, one is "Meep", and the other refers to Malo as a mutant with a unibrow...despite the picture clearly showing that Malo has two obviously separate eyebrows...LapisScarab (talk) 06:36, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

Zunari's got more of a unibrow than Malo... Diachronos (talk) 14:26, December 1, 2009 (UTC)

Even though Malo is WAY cooler than Zunari, I'd like to point out that you get the Magic Armor from both of them, not just Malo.

Yes, that purple crystal was Magic Armor! Just in a not-as-cool form. --Dawn Of A New Day 00:36, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Anonymous 3 for Zumari doesn't really make sense. They can't understand who would vote for Malo except semi-fans and cool people?--DarkTriforce (talk) 01:16, December 4, 2009 (UTC)

Anon number 4 for Zunari gave me a good laugh.
