Week 144: Don Gero vs. Mamu[]

Don Gero's Mask
Winner:
"'Mamu!'"
Mamu

7 < 17.5
Mamu
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEENNN!!! Zeldapedia brings to you the most hundred-and-forty-fourthest battle ever battle in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOURRRRRRRRRRRAGE! And I assume you all got the message. That's right, tonight is Free Frog Leg Night in the Temple of Courage! That is to say, after the battle. Which, as it happens, is between two musical frogs. Let's meander through our contestants' discographies right now!

In the darker green corner is a mysterious frog composer who is never seen in the flesh. In springtime, he conducts the frogs of Snowhead Mountain, whose croak-tastic vocal abilities are the stuff of legend. From a hungry Goron, the hero is given a mask, most likely based on the likeness of the frog composer, which he uses to bring back the frogs, found scattered throughout Termina, for their annual spring oratorio. THIS. IS. DOOOOOOOOOOON GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRROOOOO!!!

In the lighter green corner is the most well-renowned amphibian singing sensation of Koholint Island, whose appearance is most certainly not a reference to a character from another game. His abode is carefully hidden in a maze of signposts, so that only the bravest of heroes can find him. Our hero eventually does just that, and for a modest fee, the frog singer performs for the hero a previously unreleased cut by the name of the "Frog's Song of Soul". This song has the power to bring life to certain dead lifeforms or inanimate objects. THIS. IS. WART MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

And now, for the millions of fans in attendance and billions watching at home, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET REEEEEEEEEEEADY TO RIIIIIIIIIIIBBBBBBBBBBITTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!

Votes for Don Gero[]

  1. Oh please, is this even a competition? Forget the characters involved in the battle, Majora's Mask kicks ass any day. Giraffes (talk) 22:27, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
  2. I must say this mask does make link look cool, Also the frog is cute!! Missunderstood Princess
  3. Don gero rocks.Tj hoffman (talk) 22:06, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

  1. Majora's Mask>Link's Awakening
  2. umm... Majora's Mask, mask given to you by a goron, and... I don't really know... but ive never played LA, I guess...
  3. Never played link to the past so I have to go with Majora's Mask
  4. Link's awakening was epic, but I'm not going to vote for the frog that made my Emulator go all crazy..
  5. Its true, this isn't much of a fight. Mamu has won just about every fight he's been in. But there's just something so mysterious about this mask! For starters, Don Gero-you never see him in game(unless he's that goron...)and that's mystifying in itself! And then, the side quest, we all know it wasn't that great, but it leaves you with a sense of completion. So who are you gonna vote for? The under dog: a mask with unknown origin, or a long time champion who is a great character but also someone who has won so many times a faint disdain is stirring. But this is just me and my little half-vote. May the best frog win!
  6. Majora's Mask vs. Link's Awakening? All I can say is Majora's Mask all the way.
  7. Don gero actually ribbits, all mamu uses are the beeps from the gameboy.
  8. I just picked random

Votes for Mamu[]

  1. As averse I am to voting against anyone who bears the title "Don" out of fear of ending up in a pair of new, shiny shoes of cement, Mamu is just plain badass. The whole while I was playing the game, I was wondering "Oh, what could that signpost maze hide?" and then when I finally got around to doing it (I jumped the gun and tried to use the Piece of Power and the boots to jump the holes and stuff, but no dice), my mind was blown when Wart Mamu of all people was there. The subsequent song performance only served to shatter my preconceptions of life and sense-makery for years to come. Oh, and his song can bring people back from the dead. I'd like to see the Don (on the off chance that he's not just a Keyser Söze) fight Mamu and his army of skeleton chickens and a resurrected Kurt Cobain. --AuronKaizer! 23:22, May 26, 2011 (UTC)
  2. GIANT FROG! HELL YES! -Minish Link 13:00, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
  3. Resurrecting the dead, having an actual in game appearance, a better song and being an epic Mario cameo (he aint any plain old goomba, this is a Mario cameo of epic proportions that deeply connects the two series through the use of dram imagery). Really isn't a hard decision Oni Dark Link 19:03, May 27, 2011 (UTC)
  4. Woo! --Ricorum (talk) 16:58, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
  5. Mamu is based off of a Mario character, thus he wins. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 22:03, May 29, 2011 (UTC)
  6. Mamu rocks! Don Gero isn't even in the game and he may or may not try to intimidate people by being called Don (which is probably short for like Donatello or something) and his sidequest is stupid. Mamu requires you to solve challenging puzzles in exchange for a song to raise the dead. Mamu wins, no doubt. Zant's Faithful Servant
  7. I haven't actually played LA yet, but considering that nearly all the arguments for Don Gero are "vote for the underdog" and "he's from the better game", I don't think I'm left with much of a choice. And Mamu was ripped from perhaps the most unusual Mario game to date. Jedimasterlink (talk) 14:05, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
  8. Mamu is a heaps better character than Don Gero plus Mamu's song is heaps better than Don Gero's cruddy side quest. --TazAJ (talk) 12:28, June 6, 2011 (UTC)
  9. Mamu FOR THE WIN! ???e? s???? 03:19, June 7, 2011 (UTC)
  10. Mamu Stalchild21
  11. If it weren't for Wart being a contender, I might go with Don Gero. TheTM 00:53, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

Hey, anonymous #2 for Don Gero, I know this seems nitpicky, but Wart, I mean, Mamu was A Link to the Past, not Link's Awakening. 12:58, May 31, 2011 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by LINk11 (talkcontribs)

Actually, Mamu was in LA (as opposed to NY). And it says in the rules not to use talk templates, so would you mind changing that? I was hoping to get him to do it himself so we wouldn't need the unsigned template, but that'll do. Jedimasterlink (talk) 14:00, May 31, 2011 (UTC)
Oh yeah, sorry forgot(turns out it was nitpicky and incorrect.:(. oh well.). also sorry about template, haven't been on in a while.Zant's Faithful Servant

Gee, I wonder who will win, the unseen, rarely named, frog, who's sidequest everyone hates, represented only by a mask vs. the frog singer hidden in a maze whose song can reserect the dead, such a competionUser:Majora's Warth's ReincarnationReincarnation 16:07, June 11, 2011 (UTC)

You can cast your vote for another fight before it goes through, or you can hush the fush up. This is not constructive on any level. --AuronKaizer! 23:59, June 13, 2011 (UTC)

Week 143: Bombers Secret Society of Justice vs. Seven Maidens[]

Bombers Secret Society of Justice
Winner:
"'Bombers Secret Society of Justice!'"
Bombers Secret Society of Justice

14 > 9.5
Seven Maidens

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! It's time for the belated 143rd week in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOUUUUUURAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE!!! This week's battle is between two sexist gender-exclusive groups, both of which fight for justice. Let's meet them both in the ring.

In the purple corner is a group of young do-gooders residing in Clock Town. Aiming to please all throughout the land by doing deeds for them as well as helping them with their many troubles, our hero joins this group at the beginning of his quest. In order to do so, he must best five members of the group at a game of Hide-and-Seek, finding them all before the dawn of the next day. When he does so, he receives a notebook so he may keep track of his good deeds, and is granted permission to pass through their hideout in East Clock Town. THEY. ARE. THE BOMBERS SECRET SOCIETY OF JUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSTIIIIIIIIIIIICE!!!

In the light blue corner we have the descendants of the Seven Wise Men, all women. In order to break the spell on his master, Ganon, the dark wizard Agahnim captures and imprisons them all inside crystals hidden throughout the corrupted Golden Land. Our hero braves the many dungeons of the Dark World, and rescues them, and is gradually told the history of Ganon's war on Hyrule. Eventually, he rescues the seventh descendant, Princess Zelda; their powers combined, they open a gateway to Ganon's Tower, where our hero does battle with Agahnim once more. THEY. ARE. THE SEVEN MAAAAAIIDENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNS!!!

It looks like they're squabbling already, so get to your seats! This will not be a fight to miss! LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREADY TO RRRRRRRRRRRRRRUMMMMMMMMMMBLLLLLLLLE!!!

Votes for Bombers Secret Society of Justice[]

  1. Kickass little kids who aim to do good throughout all of Termina? Sign me up! ...Not literally. —Minish Link(c·ec·db)
  2. It would have been an easy decision if it weren't for FSA. Those maidens are much more interesting, aren't as much of a copy of each other, show signs of being involved in their respective lands, can teleport Link across Hyrule, and turn into fairies, which is awesome. Though I do remember those maidens spouting a lot of text at me that I didn't really gain much from. Still, what gang of kids do you know was created to seek out and help people in need? They're just too cool. And the shorthand for their group is "The Bombers", which sounds like something else entirely, and the long form is "Secret Society of Justice", which is a way better title than "Seven Maidens".--FierceDeku 04:31, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
  3. Because boys rule and girls dr- no, just kidding. Seriously, though, Bombers are way cooler, and aside from that they actually allow you to gain entrance to the very place you need to go to in order to make any progress at all in the game. So, yeah. Besides, SEVEN damsels in distress? Really? And you have to save one twice? Also, the one on the roof tries to escape Batman style, with the gliding! Awesome! And most importantly, I <3 bombs/blowing stuff up. Even if they don't do that at any time in the game, they still get points for the name.LINk11
  4. WE ARE HEMAN WOMEN HATERS. --Jäzzi(Talk) 18:31, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
  5. Wow. Is this a slow week or is this a slow week? Anyways, I like these guys and the hide and seek game wasn't bad. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 17:44, May 13, 2011 (UTC)

  1. Bombers Rock!!! what can some little girls do besides get into trouble and teleport people around where bombers help people and have spit wad guns what could be better! The hero of time
  2. Myr
  3. Is it not obvious??? Bombers are a)in majoras mask b)cute and look so adorable in their lil' bandannas! Plus, have you seen their hideout?
  4. These dudes are in MM. Nuff said.
  5. The Bombers actually care about others, the hideout is awesome, and MM>aLttP.
  6. Three words: "hide" and seek. Man, it was so funny just watching them run around as soon as Link found them.
  7. I prefer Majora's Mask to A Link To The Past. I'm still going through aLttP (one of the 4 Zelda games I still need to finish) and it's not really exciting me all that much. Majora's Mask was amazing so my vote goes to the Bombers :-)
  8. Bombers FTW, the Seven Maidens got nothing on these Bombers!
  9. MEH.
  10. If it wasn't for these children i could never have spoken to that creepy old man who look through a telescope 24/7

Votes for Seven Maidens[]

  1. Seven Maidens All The Way. --Ricorum (talk) 03:46, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Bros before h... Scratch that. It may not be 72 but I think I'm going to have to go with the seven maidens. --Birdman5589 (talk) 03:59, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
  3. The Bombers could be a little annoying at times, especially Number Three, whose... actions need not be elaborated upon (sick freak). Rescuing fair maidens is the bread and butter of a hero, and there being seven of them, could be the biggest accumulation of heroics in a Zelda game. And besides which, the music that plays whenever you rescue a crystallized maiden (now there's a good name for your new lackluster and brainless thrash metal project) melts this troper's heart. Every time. On a dime. Even with key lime. ...What was I talking about, again? Oh yes, I vote Edwards. --AuronKaizer! 05:28, May 9, 2011 (UTC)
  4. ALttP....--LinksGirlfriend
  5. Secret society of justice...what acts of justice have they ever performed ever? The seven maidens actually are a great set of likable characters in Four Swords and in A Link to the Past they kind of started the whole trend of saving someone else other then Zelda. They also do a nice job of filling in the back story of the entire game. The Bombers where just a group of kids who don't do anything special and annoy me when they're still waddling around on the Night of the Final Day when everyone else has fled (seriously do they have no parents or sense of self preservation). Oni Dark Link 15:17, May 13, 2011 (UTC)
  6. Rescuing maidens... shouldn't a society of justice get on that some time? --Hydropanda (talk) 18:14, May 15, 2011 (UTC)
  7. For all their talk about helping people, the Bombers never actually do anything except play hide-and-seek, attempt to pop a giant balloon, and play in the observatory. The maidens fill you in on backstory and help you enter the final dungeon in both of their appearances. Jedimasterlink (talk) 12:03, May 16, 2011 (UTC)
  8. I've never played A Link to the Past before. But from what I've read about the maidens, they sound like they actually do something in their game. I've never seen the Bombers do anything accept stroll around in Clocktown. Sure they gave me the notebook, but that's about it. And, as Oni Dark Link said, they're just a group of kids that don't do anything special. They were in Majora's Mask just to be there. --Nevermind0309 (talk) 01:48, May 19, 2011 (UTC)

  1. I don't like playing hide and seek in a Zelda game, it makes me feel like a kindergartner or something.. the maidens are girls.. come on! Secret society of JUSTICE, but they can't prevent Sakon from stealing from the old lady..
  2. They are ladies, nuff said.
  3. They actually do SOMETHING.

Peanut Gallery[]

So, for the record, I'm pretty sure both of these groups are all one gender due to coincidence/graphics recycling. The bombers allowed whole other species in before Skull Kid came along, so why not girls, and I I'm pretty sure none of them ever said they were boys only. Also, Zelda is the last maiden you rescue after reaching the Dark World. That's why there are 7 dark world dungeons. Yeah, you rescue her at the beginning of the game also, but this makes it sound like she doesn't get captured again. I'm sorry, I just feel compelled to point these things out. It's a side effect of being a wiki editor.--FierceDeku 04:31, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Based on how the sentences were written and ordered, I'm inclined to think the Zelda rescue in question is the one after her second capture (the more significant one), since Zelda's rescue is mentioned after the others' rescues. Unless it was rewritten between our comments. EDIT: It was. Disregard this. Jedimasterlink (talk) 13:59, May 9, 2011 (UTC)

Week 142: Deku Princess vs. Princess Ruto[]

Deku Princess
Winner:
"'Deku Princess!'"
Deku Princess

17.5 > 14.5
Princess Ruto
LLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMENNNNNNN!!! Zeldapedia brings to you the 142nd Easter Spectacular, brought to you by Burlap Sacks 'R' Us! And to celebrate whatever this holiday is about, we have summoned forth its very embodiment for this week's battle! Because when I think Easter, I think... PRINCESSES! Let's see what these two monarchical figures are all about.

In the green corner, we have the princess of the Deku Scrubs that inhabit the region of Woodfall in the land of Termina. When the once comparatively clean swamp water of her domain became contaminated, she immediately took action and headed towards Woodfall Temple, the swamp's source. However, she is taken captive by the evil spirit that has taken over the temple, and the innocent monkey with whom she had embarked on this mission is mistakenly blamed for this. The hero is eventually caught up in this series of unfortunate events, and is able to cleanse the swamp water, rescue the princess from the evil Odolwa (and return her, in a most unusual fashion, to her home) and prove the monkey's innocence, but not before the Deku Princess lets her hasty father hear what's what. THIS. IS. THE DEEEEEEEEEKU PRINCESSSSSSSSSSS!!!

In the turquoise corner is the princess of the Zoras that reside in Zora's Domain in eastern Hyrule. When her people's patron deity, Lord Jabu-Jabu begins to act strangely, she loses possession of the ancestral Zora's Sapphire when checking on him. As she has done so many times before, she ventures inside of Jabu-Jabu to find her lost possession. The hero finds a message in a bottle written by the princess, which he shows to her father, allowing him to pass through to the fountain where Jabu-Jabu resides. Inside Jabu-Jabu, he does indeed meet Ruto, and inadvertently becomes betrothed to her when she gives him the Zora's Sapphire. Seven years later, the two meet again, and the Zora princess is awakened as the Sage of Water, destined to save Hyrule. THIS. IS. PRIIIIINCESSSSSS RUUUUUUUUUUUUUTOOOOOO!!!

The Easter Bunny himself is in attendance tonight to witness this spectacle. We hope that all audience members have brought along protective gear to prevent life-threatening damage sustained from any eventual showers of chocolate eggs. With that said... LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRREADY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Deku Princess[]

  1. Bit of a toss-up here, actually. I like them both. However, Ruto, as we all know by know, is part of an Escort Mission, and it's not one of the good ones. That and she's a bit of an annoying brat and her becoming the sage was as obvious as it can get. The Deku Princess, while not having a lot of character traits or anything, just struck me as a more likable character and actually a semi-efficient ruler. And while she too was technically part of an Escort Mission, it was one of those that was fun, and actually took me a while to connect the dots on what to do. That's thinking outside the box. Ruto loses on some glaring character flaws here, I'm afraid. --AuronKaizer! 00:04, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Although I like Zoras as well as Deku (no way), I found Ruto herself and carrying her around a bit annoying. At least Link can carry the Deku Princess in a bottle, which is much more original than the letter in the bottle that Ruto had. --DekuStick Master 00:13, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  3. She's wearing clothes. And I can play the Deku Palace theme on flute. So, yeah. --BassJapas 00:14, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  4. She does not try to marry Link. -Isdrakthül 00:16, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  5. Actually shows respect for Link as someone not bound to serve her upon first meeting.--RedeadhunterRedeadContributions Edits 00:39, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  6. Love ability to carry person around in bottle. Also, Ruto ticks me off with her "How in considerate! You shouldn't have left me behind! If you're a man, act like one!" (Sorry, but, I was too busy killing a giant parasitic tentacle to hold you.) Also, I found it very annoying to have to carry her everywhere. (Although I enjoyed throwing her at jellyfish!) She also was extremely bratty, especially when you think about the fact that I carried her everywhere in that stupid dungeon (apparently she can't walk on her own), saved her from the big octo and Barinade, and then she yells at me for being late! (I didn't know we had set a time to meet up again) Then, she not only shows me very little gratitude, she also has to trick me into getting engaged to her! I think I'll end it Metallica-style: Specially Huge Amounts of Hatred and Cess-Ridden Filth to the Idiot that Follows: Princess Ruto! LINk11
  7. I agree with Isdrakthül. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 15:16, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  8. Even though I like Ocarina of Time more, I'll have to with Deku Princess instead. Ruto is waaaay too annoying, you can just shove Deku Princess in a bottle and save yourself from having to listen to her complaining. Lincas1Vaati (The Minish Cap) 19:39, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  9. Okay, maybe that's going a little too far. But I really hate her. The Deku Princess, on the other hand, saves monkeys. Yay. Sir Real (talk)
  10. When I first met Ruto she reminded me of my Mom. Then, when she falls in love with Link it creeped me out. I mean come on, the girl's like, part fish. The Deku Princess was her polar opposite. I actually enjoyed the character when I met her, and I liked being able to carry her in a bottle. --Nevermind0309 (talk) 08:11, April 27, 2011 (UTC)
  11. This was a hard one. I think I'm kinda "closer" to Ruto. But then there is that fact that she just annoys the heck out of me. So I'll go for the Deku Princess this time --Breakin'Sleazer 17:15, April 30, 2011 (UTC)
  12. I'm not voting for the Deku over Zora or MM over OoT, I like the Deku Princess as a character, while Ruto has always annoyed me.--FierceDeku 23:17, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

  1. I HATE RUTO. RUTO IS EVIL. DEMONS ARE EVIL. RUTO IS A DEMON!!!
  2. Ruto is annoying, although it is fun to toss her at those Bari to defeat them. The Deku Princess tops her because of that hilarious scene where she tackles her father in a scene of hilarity. DEATH TO RUTO!
  3. MEH.
  4. While I love Ocarina of Time and anything associated with it, Ruto's just sort of annoying and bossy, while the Deku Princess has spunk. Plus, I've always kind of wished Ruto would put some clothes on....
  5. Ruto has earned a special place in my heart. That place is a hellish realm where she burns for all eternity, kept far from her precious Link. A fitting place for a creepy, annoying stalker such as herself.
  6. After she's FINALLY done being rude, Ruto can never take the hint that Link doesn't want to marry her. The Deku Princess, however, actually treats Link like another being, not an object. Plus, I like watching her own her father.
  7. My vote's going for the Deku Princess mostly because Ruto scares the crap out of me, and the Deku Princess beats the crap out of her dad, which is by far the BEST scene in MM.
  8. My voice goes to Deku Princess. She was actually nice to Link, while Ruto was bossing him around. *nod*
  9. While Ruto is indeed hot, like A REALLY REALLY HOT FISH that i would do dirty things to, Deku Princess is just too cute, she has those yellow, big and sad eyes that just screams LOVE ME!! and the civilization of the Dekus has that Mayan feeling that is so mistic, not like those sumg fishes... also, Ruto doesn't hit her father, which would only augmented her awesomeness, a missed oportunity...
  10. Weird naked fish lady chasing after Link, Deku girl who owns her dad for being an idiot...no contest. Deku Princess
  11. Personally, from the theories I gather, that the Deku are more deserving of sympathy and respect. I think Ruto, though important for the symbolism of the mythology, is ultimately a creepy stalker who forces Link into decisions he doesn't want to make. Deku Princess...? You put her in a bottle for crying out loud! XD

Votes for Princess Ruto[]

  1. Zora. -Minish Link 01:37, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Though there there is a lot that makes me prefer the Deku Princess over Ruto here I do have one major qualm with the Deku Princess. You can't sell her to the guy in the Curiosity Shop. I've alwys wished you could (illegally trading princesses that would be so epic). Ruto also shares a name with a Zelda II town Oni Dark Link 10:05, April 25, 2011 (UTC)
  3. First of all I think Zoras are awesome. Plus Ruto and I have a bit in common. We both like Link plus we are both annoying. She's the Sage of Water which is cool, both Princess and Sage! I think the Deku Princess is ok but Ruto's a much better character story wise.--LinksGirlfriend
  4. I can't trust anybody that associates with monkeys. --Birdman5589 (talk) 15:22, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

  7. Zora > Deku any day of the week! Just sayin. Njh117 (talk)
  8. Not that I have any (specific) thing against the Deku Princess, it's just that I think Ruto is better overall. Plus, Ocarina of Time is my favorite Zelda game. Corfid Bizna (talk)
  9. I've got fonder memories of Ruto. Nayru's Maiden (talk) 05:56, May 8, 2011 (UTC)

  1. As a child she is cute (especially when she blushes), as an adult she is hot, she's a Zora and you don't have to figure out that you must capture her in a bottle.. Because that makes much sence..

  3. Female Deku in a bottle.... have to go whit princess ruto on this one.
  4. Princess Ruto is totally hot. And i LOVE Zora people... THEY'RE AWESOME!!!!! :-)

  8. I fell in love with her, even though she could act like a biatch^^
  9. Look at Ruto, though she has scale she is kinda pretty. But Deku princess is butt-ugly and looks EMO!

Peanut Gallery[]

This looks pretty one-sided. But I don't think it's because of people liking Deku Princess(she's barely a character), but because everyone just hates Ruto so much. LINk11

"A character is the representation of a person in a narrative or dramatic work of art" Deku Princess is not barely a character. She just had less of a role than Ruto. --BassJapas 14:13, April 25, 2011 (UTC)

Week 141: Megaton Hammer vs. Skull Hammer[]

Skull Hammer

LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! I am pleased to announced the 141st fight in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAGE!!! This week's battle is between two large hammers that our hero picks up during his travels around the world. Let's meet our contestants now.

In the brown corner is an ancient tool once wielded by the Hero of the Gorons. Found in the boiling Fire Temple, this silver hammer can be used to depress heavily-rusted switches found throughout the dungeons of Hyrule. This handy tool may also be used to uncover entrances to hidden grottos and smash rocks, and even use it much like his trusty sword. Weighing in at a megaton and/or capable of producing shockwaves whose force equals the same, THIS. IS. THE MEEEGAAAATON HAMMERRRRRRRRRRRR!!!

In the light slate gray corner is a ghastly-looking hammer, left behind as battle spoils from the hero's battle with Phantom Ganon in the Forsaken Fortress. The hammer's primary usage is pounding down wooden stakes ordinarily unyielding to regular force. It may also be used in battle, sending out devastating shockwaves. When used in conjunction with Ice Arrows, it may be used to defeat the enemy outright by smashing their frozen bodies. THIS. IS. THE SSSKUUUULLLLLLL HAMMMERRRRRRRRRR!!!

Which of these heavy hammers will win? And for that matter, how will they even fight if there's no one to hold them? I guess we'll see in the ring! LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADY TO RRRRRRRRRRRUMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Megaton Hammer[]

  1. BA-DOOM --BassJapas 01:11, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Hammer used to in ancient times to slay a dragon who is later revived and beaten once again with the same hammer, is much more intense than that random one over there. Plus it looks brand new after all these years and doesn't have the slightest bit of corrosion it seems. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 01:24, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  3. It took me until just now to realize this, but the artwork of the Megaton Hammer looks very similar to the Hammer from Fire Emblem. Guess what I've been playing lately? Jedimasterlink (talk) 07:30, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  4. Love me my megaton hammer! Cause Dark Link to just sit quietly and not defend himself! Guaranteed not rust, even if left in a box for countless centuries after having dragon gore all over it! SMASH! SMASH! SMASH! LINk11
  5. Megaton Hammer was one of my fav weapons in OoT! Plus the Fire Temple was awesome!-LinksGirlfriend
  6. *Bang bang* Link's silver hammer came down upon Volvagia's head. *Clang clang* Link's silver hammer made sure that he was dead. --AuronKaizer! 14:25, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  7. It looks better, and makes more sense as an actual hammer... --DekuStick Master 20:27, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  8. Anyone up for a game of Whack-a-dragon? --Hydropanda (talk) 23:16, April 21, 2011 (UTC)
  9. Its epic, nuff said Lincas1Vaati (The Minish Cap) 20:12, April 22, 2011 (UTC)
  10. It's a goron treasure. And I like OoT better than WW, lame excuse, but I like the Megaton Hammer better anyway --Breakin'Sleazer 19:06, April 24, 2011 (UTC)

Anonymous votes[]

  1. One word: Volvagia
  2. It just reminds me of The Legend of Zelda: Abridged Series. Go Mega-Crush (MC) Hammer!!
  3. Even though the skull hammer has a better design, I like the shinyness of the Megaton Hammer. It was fun to slam it against a wall and see Walltullas come down..
  4. You can smash Soul Calibur characters with this one :)
  5. MEGATON HAMMMMMER!
  6. I agree with anon number 2. GO MC HAMMER!!!
  7. Ocarina of time is just cooler then wind waker! and besides, who does'nt love gorons!!
  8. The Megaton Hammer (or Megacrush Hammer in The Legend of Zelda: The Abridged Series) can be used for Ocarina of Time's famous crouch-stab glitch. The Skull Hammer can't be used for any glitches besides the dumb stop-and-swap glitch.
  9. MEH.

Votes for Skull Hammer[]

  1. It's shaped like a Skull. It's found after defeating PHANTOM GANON. It can freakin' flatten enemies. I mean, come on, what more could you want in a hammer? -Minish Link 01:11, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  2. In my opinion, anything with a skull is awesome. Hammers are also awesome. Therefore, the Skull Hammer would be double awesome. I also renamed it as such as the "Double Awesome Hammer of Skullz". You know you're all jealous of my super naming skills... :D - McGillivray227 01:18, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  3. It can flatten enemies, can send enemies flying Incredible distances, and is skull-themed. -Isdrakthül 01:39, April 19, 2011 (UTC)
  4. I love the animation of the skull hammer. Also it is bigger and better designed than the megaton one.--User:CerberuS GR Phantom (Phantom Hourglass)-The Guardian of Underworld 07:27, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
  5. I really like the Megaton Hammer, but I love playing baseball with Miniblins more. Wait... BANG! New distance record! --Ricorum (talk) 15:13, April 20, 2011 (UTC)
  6. I don't have any idea what animal's skull was used, but I WANT THAT HAMMER.--RedeadhunterRedeadContributions Edits 02:14, April 21, 2011 (UTC)
  7. It has more character. --Birdman5589 (talk) 03:35, April 21, 2011 (UTC)
  8. First off, let me say that I'm a huge fan of OoT, and I think it is a vastly superior game to WW. That said, let's compare. Megaton Hammer: useless outside the dungeon you get it in, very few unique interactions w/ enemies, looks lame, less reach than the Master Sword. Skull Hammer: decent amount of use in the Overworld, interacts differently w/ most enemies, is a visually impressive GIANT F***ING HAMMER W/ A SKULL on it, has more reach than your sword. As cool as all the fanboys think Volvagia (and anything associated w/ him) is, the Megaton Hammer really was pretty useless outside the Fire Temple. Knives182 (talk) 02:36, April 22, 2011 (UTC)

  3. Remember seeing Link jump up and down with that hammer like it weights nothing after beating the Helmaroc King?

Week 140: Ilia vs. Marin[]

Ilia
"'Marin!'"

7.5 < 15.5
Marin

LLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! I welcome you to the 140th fight in the TEMPLE. OF. COUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRAAAAGE!!! This week's contestants are two feminine friends of our protagonist. Let's meet them now.

In the green corner is our hero's childhood friend who hails from Ordon Village. When the hero hurts his horse, Epona, while jumping fences, she takes her to the healing Ordon Spring, but is taken away by evil forces. After her rescue, she is revealed to suffer from amnesia, and our hero attempts to retrace her journey to restore her lost memories. When he successfully does so, she gives the hero the Horse Call, which allows the hero to call upon his mount from most locations. THIS. IS. IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIILIAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

In the azure corner is another fine lady, residing on Koholint Island. When our hero is shipwrecked, she saves him and brings him to her home, where he mistakes her for Princess Zelda upon waking up. Subsequently, the hero encounters her many times throughout his quest, and learns from her the "Ballad of the Wind Fish", which is an important key to his escape from the island. At one point, she directly accompanies the hero in order to awaken a sleeping Walrus that blocks his path. During the very end, her greatest wish may be fulfilled depending on the actions of you, the player. THIS. IS. MARIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!!!

Who will win this battle (presumably over our hero)? I can't be sure, so LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRREADYYYYYYYYY TO RRRRRRRRRRRRUMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Ilia[]

  1. Ilia was creepy and annoying, yes, but that just made it more satisfying when Link killed her in the cutscene about the Interlopers. -Isdrakthül 00:14, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  2. She may be crazy and evil but she doesn't make you drag her all over the world just so some mouse can take her picture. Also Ilia is only verbally abusive towards Link where Marin actually becomes physically abusive in her quest for being photographed. --Birdman5589 (talk) 21:11, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  3. I enjoyed swearing at her and laughing when she got kidnapped. I'm not sadistic... --BassJapas 23:30, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  4. Played Twilight Princess silly and LA was just a gameboy game I played before I could even speak English. Qua design Marin wins, but Ilia was more interesting in my opinion.Mido did what?! (talk) 14:38, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
  5. I feel so sorry for Illia when she loses her memory! Besides, I never played Link's Awakening. Elfpixieprincess
  6. I haven't played LA. Also Illia seems a lot nicer than some girl who dumped Link to become a seagull (I mean, what? Seagull?). Also Illia is cuter. CABAL (talk)

Anonymous votes[]

  1. Never played LA.
  2. Link's Awakening SUCKS. Twilight Princess on the other hand, is a great game. I would have voted for Marin because Ilia is useless if Link's Awakening was even mediocre.
  3. Just because.

Votes for Marin[]

  1. Marin kicks ass, dude. Seagulls ftw. -Minish Link 23:57, April 10, 2011 (UTC)
  2. Marin is awesome - she has awesome hair, she sings an awesome song, she lives on an awesome island, with awesome bros, and at the end she either gets wings (awesome) or becomes a seagull (awesome). She also has a crush on Link, d'aww. Marin also has some epic dialogue. Ilia is NOT awesome. She is ugly, stupid, she STOLE MY DAMN HORSE, she hits on Link and Link is like, WHOA HO, GTFO. She's also ugly and stupid. And human. And annoying. And she's creepy in that cutscene and SHE FALLS UPSIDE DOWN. Ilia is evil! -Stars talk http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y27/pyroac/Starssprite.gif 00:01, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  3. Ilia was weird. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 00:16, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  4. I Like Marin's hair.. ILIA IS WEIRD!! Who gets so mad just because there's a cut on a horse?? I Know who! CRAZY, WEIRD Ilia!! I also agree with Stars, she's creepy in the cutscene where she falls upside down. Marin is much better then her!-LinksGirlfriend
  5. Marin is not going to win this because people don't like Ilia. She is going to win this because she is the embodiment of pure brilliance. I really don't think it would be an understatement to say she is one of if not the best female character in the series. Shes just a total win all round Oni Dark Link 17:28, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  6. I like seeing the walrus fall down. Stalchild21
  7. ... --DekuStick Master 21:05, April 11, 2011 (UTC)
  8. Marin is one of the first characters in the series with legitimate character development. Case closed. Jedimasterlink (talk) 03:02, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
  9. "You got Marin!" should be all I need to say. But in case it's not, I agree w/ Jedi that Marin displayed decent character development, and with others that the Ballad of the Wind Fish she sings is awesome. Ilia, meanwhile, was a mediocre, undeveloped character at best, and an annoying one at worst. I guess it's not really her fault...being an amnesiac for most of the game makes it kind of hard to have a personality. Also, by the time she gives you the Horse Whistle, it's totally useless as you're already warping everywhere. Back to Marin, she made me feel really special for beating the game without dying, a tradition whose demise I lament. Plus, Marin was obviously the inspiration for Malon, who is also made of awesome. In short, MARIN, & anyone who thinks anything else is clearly wrong about everything, ever. Knives182 (talk) 04:12, April 12, 2011 (UTC)
  10. Marin helps you in your quest multiple times, and is the reason you are still alive at the beginning of LA. Illia impedes your progress repeatedly and is the whole reason why the children got kidnapped. Need I say more? --Hydropanda (talk) 02:35, April 13, 2011 (UTC)
  11. Per me. As in, my opinion during the earlier ToC fight in which Marin was featured. I've nothing further to add. --AuronKaizer! 15:21, April 13, 2011 (UTC)
  12. Marin Forever. --Ricorum (talk) 22:43, April 13, 2011 (UTC)
  13. She was a far more interesting character, who actually seemed fleshed-out and made it feel like the game's writers actually wanted to make a character we could enjoy learning about. She's also a good singer, and she makes for some hilarious scenes in LA(though I cannot unsee the scene where Link holds her over his head like an item, all the while staring up with his mouth wide open). Little Orphan AnnieIlia wasn't unlikeable, but she just came across as bland and one-dimentional, almost like the game's designers were merely trying to give the shippers ANOTHER girl to pair up with Link in Twilight Princess. That's how many, five now? Sir Real (talk)

  1. Somehow, Ilia's face looks awkward.. Besides, I love the Ballad of the Wind Fish, especially the version they made for and left out of Super Smash Bros. Brawl. And Marin's cute too.
  2. MEH.
  3. . Let's see...crazy lady who gives you an item that's pretty much useless since you can warp wherever you want to go and flips out over a tiny little scratch on a horse, or super special awesome lady who sings the best song in the Zelda series EVER, has more of a background, and helps you out more? My vote's going to Marin.
  4. I don't have anything agains Ilia, but Marin sings better and HELPS Link
  5. Most definitely Marin. I liked Illia but she didn't have a much of a story or as much character as Marin. Marin is also much nicer and prettier.

Peanut Gallery[]

girl fight!

Catfight, indeed. I forgot to put this in my vote (anonymous vote #2 on Ilia's side), but Marin is also insane. Why would ANYbody want to turn into a seagull? An eagle or a falcon would be a much better choice for if you want to be a bird.

24.192.156.170, if you're going to edit the peanut gallery, please double space between comments. Otherwise, it looks like one comment. Anyway, I'd like you to elaborate on your unfounded hatred of Link's Awakening and Marin. Had you actually paid attention to the game, as well as the behavior of birds, you would notice that Marin doesn't just want to fly, she wants to be able to leave the island and travel across the sea. You know, where you see gulls? I don't think it's all that common to see an eagle or a falcon flying out to sea. I'm sorry if I sound like a prick, but I just can't stand to see someone spew hatred at something I love without even giving reasons. Sir Real (talk)

I see your point, Sir Real. I still don't like Marin or Link's Awakening, because I get annoyed when someone greets me with "THIEF!" when she's supposedly my friend. Also, Marin reminds me to much of annoying, seagull-fetish little sister Aryll from WW, and she just annoys the hell out of me. LINk11
