Week 169: Darmani vs. Nostalgic Ghost[]

Nostalgic Ghost
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! It's time for the one hundred and sixty-ninth ever-so-fabulous duel-to-the-death in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! This week's combatants are two pale specters requiring our hero's aid. Let's meet them in the ring.

In the lavender corner is the ghost of a legendary Goron hero who has frozen to death in the cold of Snowpeak. His spirit lingering on, restless after death, he was visited by an owl who told him that he would be saved by the one who could see his ghost. Our hero finds this Goron with the Lens of Truth and plays the Song of Healing, putting his soul to rest. THIS. IS. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAARMAAAAAAAAAANIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!

In the light blue corner is another restless spirit who haunts our hero after his completion of the Angler's Tunnel. It asks our hero to return it to its home, and so he travels to the Toronbo Shores to do so. There, it finds its old home the same as it remembered it, and asks to be brought to its grave in the Koholint Prairie. Our hero does this, and it is laid to rest. THIS. IS. THE NOSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALGIC GHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOST!!!

Get out your lens of truth to view this battle and LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRREADY TO RRRRRRRRRRRRRUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMBLEEEEE!!!

Votes for Darmani[]

  1. To be honest, I just prefer Darmani to the Ghost. AWWW YEA! (talk) 22:03, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
  2. I haven't gotten that far in Link's Awakening, so unfortunately I haven't quite gotten the chance to judge the nostaligic ghost, but, Darmani has a sad backstory to him, and it gave you another reason to play the song of healing, which again how you got to see his backstory again, and I kind of felt that sorrow he was talking about when I saw that cutscene. Then you got to use his body for the rest of the game, so that was nice. Dragon Emperor Ryuga (talk) 15:10, August 5, 2012 (UTC)
  3. If I didn't vote, then how could I use Goron Link again?? Zeldas-ganon 03:15, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
  4. With Darmani you get the Goron Mask. Easy choice. Also he is a LEVITATING GORON!!! TimboJimbo (talk) 09:06, August 6, 2012 (GMT)
  5. Darmani actually brings you where he wants to go. I find that tactic a bit better than randomly stalking a stranger until he happens to visit the places you want to go. Beyond that Darmani gives you the Goron Mask, possibly the greatest item in Majora's Mask, while the Nostalgic Ghosts gives you what? A secret seashell? That's one twentieth of a better sword. The Goron Mask apart from being as awesome as it is already can also out right get you a better sword and a bottle with the Goron Races. Oni Dark Link 11:51, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Darmani not only gives you the goron mask, but the ability to curl into a ball and destroy all of termina field.--— CandD (talk) 22:46, August 7, 2012 (UTC)
  7. Darmani is a far more sympathetic and developed character. We actually know who he is, unlike the Nostalgic Ghost, who just comes out of nowhere. Not to mention, Darmani actually helps you out a lot, giving you the Goron Mask and the Hot Spring Water, by extension allowing you to upgrade your sword. ~~Sir Real
  8. I haven't played either of the games, but I like gorons. ghost of________??? 04:49, August 12, 2012 (UTC)
  9. I think he is an all around deeper character. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 23:14, August 13, 2012 (UTC)
  10. another chance to play the song of healing and hear the story of deceased hero. Beautiful.Sontana of Sleeping (talk) 14:41, August 17, 2012 (UTC)

  1. I vote for strength. I vote for honor. I vote for Darmani, the goron hero.
  2. Majora's Mask ruled.I havent played the other game but when this fight was a suggestion I looked up Nostalgic ghost and at least darmani isn't some creeper who keeps you from making progress.
  3. Gorons are awesome.
  4. this one has a true name the other one dosnt that should be it right there
  5. Hero of a great tribe of the mountains, selfless, and honoured even in death. Nakura (the name of the ghost) is just whining "Hey bwing me HOOOOOME." I never see an idol of Nakura. Ever. Hands down Darmani.
  6. Though I really like Links Awakening and the picture side-quest in DX, I love Darmani better than the Nostalgic Ghost. I mean, look at that humongous scar on his belly!! I don't know what caused that, but since he died of the cold, not the wound, it didn't even kill him.. Which would make sense, since he is a Goron..
  7. Darmani had an exceptionally cool tomb, a honorable story, and the patience to put up with a screaming child. He rocked his snowy side burns and scars like a genuine tough guy and could get mad mad spikes to shoot out of his back, Nostalgic Ghost doesn't even have a real name.
  8. Majora's Mask is better than Link's Awakening. Also, unlike the Nostalgic Ghost, Darmani is useful, not annoying.
  9. Darmani is like a bear. Heck yeah!
  10. Darmani is a goron, MY SECOND FAVOURITE RACE IN THE LEGEND OF ZELDA!!!

Votes for Nostalgic Ghost[]

  1. Remember being freaked the geek out by this thing as a kid because I had no idea what to do with him (I wasn't the brightest pickle in the crayon box). Anyway, he's kind of a creepy yet pitiable guy, so...yeah. Minish Link   Talk Page 21:39, 8/4/2012
  2. Because sometimes, words fail. --AuronKaizer! 22:45, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I actually haven't played Link's Awakening, and have played Majora's Mask, but the poor ghost seems to be much more satisfying to lay to rest rather than just playing a song. —Ceiling Master 22:53, August 4, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Darmani was a cool character, but there was always something really satisfying about this little guy. I think part of what I liked so much was the tragic mystique around him: we don't know what exactly transpired during his life and why he's still so attached to this world. I kind of miss the days when there were these sorts of unsolved mysteries in video games, where you were left to your own devices to imagine what everybody's stories were. That's not to say Majora's Mask didn't have stuff like that, because it in fact had perhaps the most out of any game in the series, but Darmani was not one of those characters. His story was sad, but predictable. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:16, August 5, 2012 (UTC)
  5. He creeped me out. When I finished Angler's Tunnel, I had no idea who he was, nor how to get rid of him. Plus, I thought the little sound effect that played whenever you entered a new area was also creepy. But I still liked him anyway.--Kingkillerbee (talk) 07:02, August 5, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Nostalgic Ghost is a more interesting character. Green Rupee 17:08, August 8, 2012 (UTC)
  7. I'm not sure why, but this ghost gives me a strange sense of nostalgia. --Hydropanda (talk) 00:06, August 10, 2012 (UTC)

  1. As we all know by now, when I haven't played either game from which the combatants originate, I go with my instincts. (You should try it sometime.) Now, I can't think of much else to say, but I do want to get my vote in before pretty much everyone else so that I don't get a bad case of Peer Pressure. Also, nostalgia (in general).
  2. This guy was awesome!
  3. woop woop!

Peanut Gallery[]

I know this is about last week, but Anon 5 for Phantom was wrong. They didn't have to win the fight. In fact, almost twice as many people voted for Guardian as they did for Phantom. Anyway, as for this fight, I really don't know who will win. I mean, I haven't played either game...I'm guessing more people will vote for Darmani? Anonymous (talk)

The real question is when did Minish realize that he shouldn't be putting pickles in crayon boxes. --Birdman5589 (talk) 22:02, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Wait, why don't pickles go in crayon boxes?! ~Minish (talk) 01:52, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
I can't think of any particular reason they shouldn't, come to think of it. Let the Minish do as he pleases. Jedimasterlink (talk) 04:18, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

MINISH IT TOTALLY ISN'T BROWN YOU'RE RIGHT D= – Jazzi (talk) 22:54, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

Also, thank you so so so much for doing the intro! – Jazzi (talk) 22:55, August 4, 2012 (UTC)

To AWWW YEA!: you do realize that we're supposed to be voting based on the actual combatants, not the games they come from? I mean, don't take this the wrong way, you're free to vote however you like, but it's always kind of bothered me how you seem to judge everything based on the game it's from. For instance, I like Majora's Mask in general more than Link's Awakening, but I like the Nostalgic Ghost more than Darmani. I don't want to sound judging here, I'm just wondering if there's a particular reason you do this, because to be honest it's not really what the Temple of Courage was intended to be about. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 05:16, August 5, 2012 (UTC)

By the way, nobody changed the template on the Main Page announcing the combatants. I'm pretty sure it's semi-protected, so I can't edit it, but I just thought I'd let you guys know so someone can edit it. Anonymous (talk) 02:12, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I completely forgot since I didn't put it through this week. Thank you so much! – Jazzi (talk) 03:19, August 6, 2012 (UTC)
Hey, no problem. I'm happy to help. Anonymous (talk) 18:10, August 6, 2012 (UTC)

"It's time for the one hundred and sixty-eighth ever-so-fabulous duel-to-the-death...." It's fight 169, not 168. --Amythistfire (talk) 16:34, August 7, 2012 (UTC)

Next time fix it instead of complaining. Actually, I think I already told you that. – Jazzi (talk) 21:36, August 11, 2012 (UTC)

Going on vacation tomorrow. I can change the fight later in the day, but I'd prefer it if someone else could do it so that I'm able to spend my vacation vacationing. Although, if I'm skyping instead of on the beach I'll do it. – Jazzi (talk) 21:36, August 11, 2012 (UTC)

Well, humanity and good taste sure lost this fight. Good on ya'lls! --AuronKaizer! 23:20, August 12, 2012 (UTC)

Week 168: Guardian vs. Phantom[]

Guardian
"'Guardian'"
Guardian

16.5 > 8.5
Phantom
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! It's time for the one hundred and sixty-eighth showdown of fabulousness in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! Better grab your running shoes so that we can avoid these combatants.

In the brown corner, we have a newbie to the arena. Hailing from the noiseless realm, this contestant becomes active once our hero steps out of his protective barrier. Once hit by one of these enemies our hero is done for! Collecting the item of the Goddesses will put this contestant back in their place. THIS. IS. GUAAAAAAAAAAAARDIAAAAAAAAAAAAN!

In the blue corner, we have a not-so-new contestant who has been in the arena before! Having a rogue eye that travels and is able to alert this contestant of our hero, this contestant is dangerous and impervious to damage... for a little while. Much like the first contestant, this fighter comes in a few different varieties. THIS. IS. PHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Before these fine fighters start, well, fighting, don't step out of your safe zone and LLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRREADYYYYYYYY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Guardian[]

  1. I have not yet gotten to this part of Skyward Sword since I'm lazy and put the game down for months in between, but that's besides the point. I can tell that the Guardians will be more difficult than the phantoms (which isn't saying much). But I do believe they deserve to win against.... → —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jäzzi (talkcontribs)
  2. I found that the Silent Realms were much more fun than the Temple of the Ocean King as the latter was just too tedious to go back and forth through, in my opinion. Overall, I thought dodging the Guardians were much more difficult than that of the Phantoms. – Wattz2000 17:49, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
  3. Phantoms didn't mentally scar The Neph when they unexpectedly came to life. Also, it would take a hell of a lot for me to vote for anything Sphantrit Ourthracks. It doesn't help that you're bored stiff by those guys by the end of Phantom... and then you get to spend THE ENTIRE NEXT GAME with those suckers again. So much for giving the people what they want, eh Nintendo? --AuronKaizer! 18:10, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
  4. I almost never saw these guys since it's way too easy to keep them subdued, but I'll admit I had some pretty cool and intense moments when I got caught with no tears around. The Phantoms were just kind of...there. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 18:53, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
  5. Voting for the only one I've played. AWWW YEA! (talk) 20:10, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Frankly when it comes down to it Guardians just look way cooler. Minish Link   Talk Page 23:32, 7/22/2012
  7. No contest. These things are actually pretty terrifying. Jedimasterlink (talk) 07:43, July 23, 2012 (UTC)
  8. The Guardians are scary as anything!! When you set them off it's the scariest part of the game by far!!! They look awesome, there are several different types, and the silent realms are one of the best parts of Skyward Sword. Easy choice. TimboJimbo User talk:TimboJimbo 14:54, July 23, 2012 (GMT)
  9. I played Skyward Sword much more, and I like to "Taunt" them as I pass next to them collecting the goddess tears. --PokeLinkEs (talk) 08:50, July 24, 2012 (UTC)
  10. These guys were a bit harder to avoid, and it actually got my heart pumpin when they got close. Ike 00:59, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
  11. Phantom Hourglass? What is this? Guardian? This dude delivers legitimate fear within the souls of the Wii wielder. Phantom? Simply a cool name. Kapodaco! (talk) 03:50, July 25, 2012 (UTC)
  12. The Guardians were much more challenging, since there weren't really any safe zones in the Silent Realms. —Ceiling Master 20:13, August 1, 2012 (UTC)

  1. Despite the fact that I recently replayed the DS games and had a blast just going around and defeating Phantoms, I just remember the music that played as these guys were chasing you and... What? It fit perfectly with the feeling. Also, Phantoms (and that ridiculous puzzle with the lava and the Arrow Orbs, too) made the Tower of Spirits what it is. Read: annoying to no end.
  2. Guardians are awesome and I love Skyward Sword.
  3. I honestly almost had a heart attack the first time i stepped in waking water. The music made me jump and all of a sudden everything was chasing me. I've never playe other game too. And I luved the fling ones with scimitars.
  4. I gotta say, my most epic moments in S.S. were when I got caught by a watcher in just th wrong order. There was also a time when I was doing the Nayru Trial getting the tear atop the Lanayru Mining Facility, a Gaurdian came so close to ending my proggress that I almost peed myself..yeesh....
  5. These guys really scared me. Its all quiet and eerie one moment and then suddenly you get this really fast paced music with loud and vibrating beats, which really gets your heart beating. Its especially terrifying when you run out of stamina right when they're behind you.
  6. Seriously, I love both, but the guardians were much more terrifying. Don't get me wrong, the phantoms also scared me alot too, but the guardians actually have a reason to try to try to kill you.
  7. I haven't reached this part in Skyward Sword, but the Silent Realms can't be as bad as the Temple of the Ocean King. So Annoying!!!
  8. Man, these gyus surely spooks me and my little brother.
  9. I think a flying guardian would win because they can go right through things, and the phantoms are completely solid and slow. (Although a phantom "might" make a mach for the other kind.)

Votes for Phantom[]

  1. Phantoms can't fly and are easier so they get my vote. Green Rupee 17:55, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
  2. Although I hate Phantoms, I haven't gotten to that part in Skyward Sword. Plus, you can play as one.--Kingkillerbee (talk) 21:36, July 22, 2012 (UTC)
  3. Why do Phantoms win? Because they are able to quit their jobs. Sure they only do that if they are weaklings like Bob, but their possession of free will makes them reign supreme. --Birdman5589 (talk) 01:41, July 26, 2012 (UTC)
  4. You can control them. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 14:56, July 27, 2012 (UTC)
  5. Phantoms sure, they kill you at first, but eventually the hunter becomes the hunted....... and the poor become the rich!--— CandD (talk) 20:33, July 30, 2012 (UTC)

  1. I AM ZERO!!! Oh gosh don't make me choose! I would say that Gaurdians are stronger, and they definetly are more suspensful,But then again you never got to use weapons against them, so you wouldn't know if they really are stronger. Plus when they notice you, you can easily outrun them, and phantoms aren't sleeping on the job. Plus I like the minigames with the phantoms, and it was a bit more fun than the silent realms. Don't get me wrong, Silent Realms were fun and all, but yeah, I like trolling my friends.
  2. My usual pity vote for the losing side, sans a half-clever comment, cause I really hated PH.
  3. Uh.......
  4. I was about to place my vote on the Guardians, but since I really enjoyed Spirit Tracks and it was my first Zelda game I decided to vote for the Phantom. Plus, the guardians gave me a too much of a heart attack so I'm voting for the Phantoms!
  5. The Phantoms just HAVE to win this, no question!
  6. Two thing I already mentioned once at these Temple of Courage contests: 1. Running from Phantom's is so much fun with the right music coming out of your computer, and 2. I hate the Silent Realms. Not only did they make my heart bump so fast I had to stop playing for a few minutes after clearing a realm, they also could've been sooo much better. Why is it that all four Silent Realm challenges are the same, only with a different location? I mean, yeah it was a nice test of courage, daring to run to the next tear with guardians on your tail, but not really a test of power or wisdom, right? It should've been!! The test of power should've been a bad-ass fight against a guardian and the wisdom challenge should be some hard game-related trivia. Then it would really have been something interesting. The final one could've been a combination of all three for all I cared, I didn't even feel like doing it a fourth time.. I had to do all the trials at least two times, only because I could never find all the tears in time. BAH!!
  7. PHANTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

Well, at least the Error vs. Secret Moblin fight wasn't too wide until the results were posted. And as for last week, I blame the past/present maps of Oracle of Ages. Anonymous (talk) 02:42, July 31, 2012 (UTC)

Crescent Island
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! It's time for the one hundred and sixty-seventh showdown of magic in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! I'd get ready before our combatants of this week gang up on you!

In the tan corner we have a large base filled with many enemies of the same breed. After being captured and having your items stolen, THIS. IS. THE. BOKOOOOOOOOBLIIIIIIIN BAAAAAAAAAAAAAASE!

In the purple corner we have a large island appearing in the present AND the past. With a small village to the east, the hero must retrieve his items which were stolen by Tokay. THIS. IS. CRRRRRRREEEEEEEESCEEEEEEENT IIIIIIIISLAAAAAAAAAAND!

Now before we get off CRUISE CONTROL, LLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRREADYYYYYYYY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Bokoblin Base[]

  1. Chucking bombs at Bokoblin watchtowers was pretty awesome. —Ceiling Master 22:41, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
  2. Sneaking around the Bokoblin Base was a very unexpected part of Skyward Sword for me. It added another dimension to Eldin Volcano and I find it more fun that the stealth in Wind Waker and other games. Also Skyward Sword is my favourite Zelda game. - TimboJimbo User talk:TimboJimbo
  3. *Sigh* Well, I hated Skyward Sword, but I've never played Wind Waker. So, I feel like I have to vote for the one I played. AWWW YEA! (talk) 19:07, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Having boulders flung at you was somewhat enjoyable. Green Rupee 17:11, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Anonymous votes[]

  1. I personally enjoyed sneaking around the Bokoblin Base and re-aquiring your gear, and it really makes you appericiate your sword.
  2. Re-aquiring your gear was fun.
  3. It was a nice change of pace from the rest of the game....until you get Fi back, anyway.
  4. However much I dislike fire places, this part of Skyward Sword was a nice surprise. I haven't played The Wind Waker either.
  5. I would love to try Wind Waker but never got it. this was one of my favourite Skyward Sword moments You know stealthaly killin' bokoblins and all that jazz.Plus I didn't use my slingshot much before this.
  6. I've always loved the stealth sections in games, it really provides a good challenge, and I really feel like im in the game. It makes me feel really suspenseful and is just epic. Oh and to you guys who keep talking about Wind Waker, Cresecent Island is from Oracle of Ages, just thought I'd clear that up.
  7. As always, I'm goin' with my instincts. And these here instincts told me to vote over here. Also, if I hadn't read some of the other votes, I wouldn't even know what game Crescent Island is from (but I was pretty sure it was from one of the Oracle games). And I did really enjoy this section of the game.

Votes for Crescent Island[]

  1. Crescent Island, to me, is one of the best realized settlements in Zelda. You really feel this place has a history, and you get to help it prepare for future changes to come. And the whole losing your items and getting them back bit was pretty satisfying... once it was through, that is. While I did welcome the unexpected gameplay change of losing your items in Skyward Sword, as a whole it felt like padding, and stealth elements have been implemented into Zelda to much better effect than this. The fact that I was so dead tired of the Eldin Volcano area at that point didn't help. --AuronKaizer! 21:47, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
  2. Bokoblin Base was cool and I liked the implementation of stealth elements (though like AK says, they've been done better before), but Crescent Island was just better crafted. Where Bokoblin Base's collect-a-thon was very linear and each item had only a couple uses, Crescent Island was extremely dynamic, what with the multiple pathways, acquisition of an entirely new item, and the great Shovel/Power Bracelet/Roc's Feather switcheroo that takes place. Bokoblin Base was more of a glorified stealth section, whereas Crescent Island was a long, satisfying puzzle. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:38, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I don't really like stealth sections in games. --Kingkillerbee (talk) 05:53, July 16, 2012 (UTC)
  4. All around better. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 03:05, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
  5. I can't actually comment on Crescent Island, but I can say that the Bokoblin Base helped prove that rehashing an area to artificially lengthen the game is a bad idea. Jedimasterlink (talk) 08:00, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
  6. I found Skyward Sword's rendition of a stealth-themed location rather dull when compared with that of the Crescent Island. – Wattz2000 15:43, July 17, 2012 (UTC)
  7. While I've never played this game, and Skyward Sword is my favorite in the series so far, Bokoblin Base was probably the worst part of the Eldin region, which was the worst of the 3. I mean, the dragon really didn't do that much, at least the other 2 had personalities. Ike 21:01, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Anonymous votes[]

  1. Oh yeah!!!
  2. What to me was the worst part of the bokoblin base, was the anti-climactic ending. You found this item, you found that item, well here is a chest that gives you all of the remaining items because by now you have collected so many, we don't want to progam all different chests for it, that would only take longer and make more sense.. This should be at the beginning of the game, where you actually find a new item, you can use to blast the bokoblins (like a bow and arrow, which doesn't blast, but would help a lot). I didn't even like Skyward Sword that much.. Especially the trial's in the silent realms, but that's for another Temple of Courage.
  3. Although I've never played Skyward Sword, I always loved Crescent Island. Both areas had the same problem, with Link's items being stolen, but I thought that Crescent Island was a lot cooler because of the time concept, having to travel back and forth to grow the vines. Although it was REALLY tedious having to do that I thought it was really fun.

I never noticed till today how bad I am with the introductions. – Jazzi (talk) 21:10, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

Poor Jazzi, this isn't even your worst attempt. --AuronKaizer! 21:47, July 15, 2012 (UTC)
Which makes it worse. I don't even remember my worst attempt. I'm really hoping I get better at it. And soon. – Jazzi (talk) 22:06, July 15, 2012 (UTC)

AWW YEA! I hope you know "Crescent Island" is not from The Wind Waker... – Jazzi (talk) 19:26, July 17, 2012 (UTC)

The lack of intelligence in which game Crescent Island is in is really sad. – Jazzi (talk) 12:36, July 19, 2012 (UTC)

Jazzi, that might be my fault as I was comparing Bokoblin Base to other stealth sections, including WW. Now it seems to have blown up quite a bit. I can edit my piece if you want. User talk:TimboJimbo
I think it's less you and more that people just see the word "island" and automatically assume "Wind Waker". Either way, people should be able to tell it's not that purely based on the image, though. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 17:56, July 19, 2012 (UTC)
It's probably because people think of Crescent Moon Island when they hear Crescent Island.--Kingkillerbee (talk) 05:43, July 22, 2012 (UTC)

Votes for Error[]

  1. When I was trying to play through Zelda II, I encountered ERROR and flipped out, it was quite exciting. So yeah, voting for the infamy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jäzzi (talkcontribs)
  2. The Secret Moblin gave me money, but Error gave me a special kind of shattering insight into my mind without which I would be a drastically different person today, for better or worse. Money can't buy me love, but temporary psychoses, yeah. It worked for Charlie Sheen, at least. Lastly, I would lik-ERRORERRORERRORERRORERROR01000101 01010010 01010010 01001111 01010010 --AuronKaizer! 00:36, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
  3. For the record, I don't have these games. I think Error was so famous since it was just very random and funny for a game that is usually regarded as difficult. Kingkillerbee (talk) 21:56, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Banter between my friends and I about how he got this name is priceless. AWWW YEA! (talk) 17:59, July 2, 2012 (UTC)
  5. Hate moblins. 'Nuff said. --Amythistfire (talk) 01:13, July 4, 2012 (UTC)
  6. I feel incredibly bad for this man. His name is Error, so what? As human beings we should be trying to accept others for who they are, despite the silliness of names or looks or otherwise. I vote for Error only because he's a good man who takes care of things when things need to be taken care of. God bless this man and his family. Kapodaco! (talk) 03:43, July 7, 2012 (UTC)
  7. The Secret Moblin's quote has had more recognition from Nintendo, being more prevalent throughout the series. Here is a vote for the underrated one. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 18:37, July 8, 2012 (UTC)
  8. Error should win. (talk)
  9. In a time where NPC's were as cryptic as cross words Error was the lone man who stood out from the rest by being helpful and to the point. He did what he needed to giving all the information Link needed with no riddles or twists. That is why I vote for Error, not because of his name but because of his purpose. A man who choose a name that could be remembered for a time when his knowledge was needed. Oni Dark Link 23:20, July 11, 2012 (UTC)
  10. I am ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!! 100% Although I never played the game, I've seen him in a fan-made wario game (but with a twist)— CandD (talk) 23:36, July 11, 2012 (UTC)

  1. You gotta think IT'S A SECRET TO EVERYBODY. or I AM ERROR. well guess what...I AM ERROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  2. Why am I voting over here? Well, IT'S A- Ahem. I fully and completely trust my instincts that told me to vote here, and I don't think they are in ERR- Alright, don't throw those tomatoes at me, I didn't finish the phrases... And no, this isn't me going with the flow; the comments on this side just pushed me in this direction and I couldn't bring myself to make a pity vote.
  3. I am Error.

  6. I don't really have a preference one way or another, so to keep things interesting, I'll vote this way to keep the score tied (for now). Jedimasterlink (talk) 06:07, July 10, 2012 (UTC)
  7. The Secret Moblin is mentioned in almost all of the LoZ games, while Error is just a weird step-child in a weird step-child of a game. This is my first post!!! TimboJimbo

Honestly, the colors need major(a) work, I haven ever had that hard of a time with the colors. And the introduction... might be too little. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Jäzzi (talkcontribs)

Not that hard to remove it yourself. Of course, we don't need the introduction all spaced out. Jazzi 02:23, July 4, 2012 (UTC)

Hey, now the votes are flipped. 5 user votes and 3 anon votes for Error, and 3 user votes and 5 anon votes for the Secret Moblin! Well, I for one didn't expect it to turn out like this. Expectations. I have none. Anonymous (Talk) 13:25, July 6, 2012 (UTC)

Week 165: Goht vs. Koloktos[]

Koloktos
LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLADIES AND GENTLEMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENNNNNNN!!! It's time for the one hundred and sixty-fifth showdown for the love of the people in the TEMPLE. OF. COOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAGE! Our combatants this week are monstrous metal machines hidden in the depths of ancient temples. Oh, hey, they're awake! Let's meet them now.

In the raging-red-orange corner is a masked mechanical monster found frozen in a large block of ice deep inside of the Snowhead Temple. Responsible for the recent frosting-over for the area, our hero ventures inside with his trusty Goron Mask and engages the creature in combat. Running away from the rampaging beast, eventually the hero destroys this creature and it collapses, out of energy. Angry and ready to trample down anything that gets in its way, THIS. IS. GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHT!

In the gray corner we have a golden, many-armed automaton found in the very top of the Ancient Cistern. Wielding axes and swords, it proves a challenge for our hero to defeat; only by fighting fire with fire (or big swords with...the same big swords, as it were), is our hero able to damage the heart at its very core. Armed and ready to fight, THIS. IS. KOOOOOOOOOOOOOLLLLLOOOOOOOOKTOOOOOOOOOS!

Hold on to your dustmasks and watch closely! This intense duel-to-the-death is about to begin! So without further adieu LLLLLLLLLLLLLET'S GET RRRRRRRRRRRRRREADYYYYYYYY TO RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMBLE!!!

Votes for Goht[]

  1. No love for Goht? Come now people, this boss battle was very creative! He runs around... and around... and around... Nothing can top that! Kapodaco! (talk) 18:12, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
  2. AWWW YEA! AWWW YEA! (talk) 17:22, June 16, 2012 (UTC)
  3. I wasn't too much a fan of Koloktos. Goht was a fun battle, especially because you need the Goron mask. Ike 20:51, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
  4. Goht is really tough and ruthless, just Majora doing its thing boss wise. It's appearance is also pretty badass, and though I'll admit Kolkotos looks cooler, I didn't enjoy Skyard Sword much so he pales down in comparison.--Trill&Plumm (talk) 04:48, June 30, 2012 (UTC)

Anonymous votes[]

  1. I just feel bad for Goht, AND Majora's mask was a much better game.
  2. Goht stunk as a boss. But he was still amazing.
  3. No love for a boss that attacked you out of free will?
  4. Both were fun, but I enjoyed Goht much more. And, he's one of the bosses not made easier by fierce deity.
  5. Goht is one of my favourite majoras mask bosses and the goron mask is just awesome.

Votes for Koloktos[]

  1. One of my favorite Skyward Sword boss fights and come on this thing just looks badass. Minish Link   Talk Page 17:13, 6/14/2012
  2. I'll admit Goht was a great boss but Koloktos just beats him six hands down. This was a terrific boss fight, great boss design, very fitting music, nice use of the dungeon weapon and it lets you use a big freaking sword. Goht had quite a bit going for it but being the boss that you likely had to refight the most in the game eventually made him become somewhat annoying in my humble opinion. Koloktos on the other hand I look forward to fighting this boss again and again and again. Oni Dark Link 17:24, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  3. My favorite SS boss that you don't fight 3 times. How could I not vote for him?--Green Rupee 18:31, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  4. You get a giant sword from Koloktos. Case closed. --KilledbyKeese 19:11, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  5. While I like Goht and consider it the more fun and objectively challenging fight, the latter is caused more by fake difficulty in the form of unfair, random programming than any sort of ingenuity on the part of the game makers. Koloktos quickly becomes repetitive, but never boring. However, it does become a victim of trying to hard, with the giant swords and whatnot. It's not strictly necessary, and seems to me to be a bit beneath Zelda in general, instead fitting more into, to say it in a very nice way, cerebrally challenged games (and by extent, the gamers what play them) such as God of War. --AuronKaizer! 21:29, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  6. Goht was a fun fight, but the finicky controls of the Goron rolling combined with Goht's eerily accurate attacks could make it frustrating at times. Koloktos employed a cool and creative use of the (otherwise pretty disappointing) dungeon item and was overall I found it really entertaining. Xykeb Yvolix Zraliv 22:47, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  7. As much as I'd love to fill that void on the left, I just can't bring myself to do it. Both battles were a lot of fun, but Koloktos was just designed much better. Jedimasterlink (talk) 23:33, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  8. I haven't got to this part in Skyward Sword, and I don't have have Majora's Mask, so this is based off of the videos. As much as I dislike voting for a side that is winning by a lot, Koloktos looks more challenging and it kills its own minions. Kingkillerbee (Talk) 21:04, June 14, 2012 (UTC)
  9. Likely my favorite boss in the series. Goht is good, but loses when compared to this guy. --EveryDayJoe45 (talk) 19:47, June 15, 2012 (UTC)
  10. Actually, there were a surprising amount of reasons to choose Goht, but Koloktos is simply one of the very best boss fights we've had in the Zelda series. Shame that the Whip is kinda... weird. "FWONG! SPLAT! GLOIP!" - it sounds and looks like something you'd get for a kid at a science fair. Also the Goht fight was pretty genius. --Naxios10 (talk) 07:50, June 16, 2012 (UTC)
  11. Koloktos's theme song is super intense and his fight was very creative. It perfectly fit the Buddhist theme of the Ancient Cistern. Plus I never played Majora's Mask, and quite frankly Goht creeps the hell out of me...--Hero of twilight44 (talk) 11:08, June 17, 2012 (UTC)
  12. This boss is awesome! It looks so cool. It is solid gold! Goht is the easiest boss ever. I hate easy bosses. Koloktos was hard and looked awesome. Z-Zori Gigafly (Talk) 20:39, June 21, 2012 (UTC)
  13. Koloktos is bigger, stronger and more of a challenge than goht so my vote goes for Koloktos...--Longhorn Velez (talk) 15:23, June 22, 2012 (UTC)
  14. I think everything about this boss is epic! Even the music! What's better than a gold robot with multiple arms holding axes? Goht is just a... Simple goat! User:ShadowEyes978 (Talk) 18:54, June 25;2012 (UTC)
  15. I gotta choose THIS pile of metal because after fighting Ghot two times this morning, I'm absolutely sick of him. :P --GildedGhirahim (talk) 00:09, June 26, 2012 (UTC)

  1. First vote. Not just anon, but overall. Anyway, I, uh, haven't played the other game, but before you go all "I hate people who do that" I would like to say that I read the page of the one on the left and watched the video. And I prefer this guy. I liked the fact that you got to use his own weapon against him, and he's just so nice and shiny. And my instincts did tell me to vote on the right again. </rambling>
  2. When I first battled Koloktos I was like, Awesome! All those big and shiny weapons! I like shiny weapons, which is why I like the Iron Knuckle so much and he's got an axe too. But then when Koloktos got up his wobbly legs and took out the six giant scimitars, I was like: NOO WAAAY!! I loved this battle! Oh yeah, Majora's Mask is indeed a better game than Skyward Sword, in my opinion.
  3. Honestley hwo wouldn't LOOOOOOOOOOOVE to wield those scimitars. I mean goht was fun but he could get VEEEERY annoying at times.
  4. Don't make me choose!!!
  5. The solid golden ancient machine always gets my vote.
  6. The Goht battle was kinda boring.
  7. Well, I'm kinda new to the whole "Legend of Zelda Universe" thing, seeing as I've only played The Legend of Zelda, and Twilight Princess, and I've finish neither of them. So, coolest looking boss goes to the Kolokosis guy, or whatever.
  8. never played either game, but my bro has battled kolokotos and his battle theme rocks. just like girahms battle theme. and wind waker ganondorf. and WW miniboss. the list of rocking zelda fights goes on and on and on and... KOLOKOTOS FTW!
  9. u get to use a huge sword
  10. While I love Majora's Mask a lot more than Skyward Sword, or any other Zelda game for that matter, I gotta hand it to Kolktos for being frigging epic. No matter what the fight is, Koloktos wins.

Yeah, the fight is so close. </sarcasm> In all seriousness, I don't mind one-sided fights as much. I mean, I do prefer close fights, but I just want to see how each fight turns out. -Anonymous (Talk) 00:55, June 18, 2012 (UTC)
