Hero's Shade
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 184th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two stern combatants that are responsible for teaching Link all he knows about swordplay! Let's take a closer look!

In the lavender corner we have a dysfunctional family of seven swordsmen and one dead man! Reunions must be strange, indeed! Each of them is the master of a particular set of skills, but they won't just teach anyone! THESE. ARE. THE BLLLLLAAAAAAAAADE BRRRROTHEEEEEEERS!

In the light green corner we have the ghost of the Hero of Time himself, passed on to the afterlife with regrets! He couldn't pass his skills down in life, but he'll sure do it in death! THIS. IS. THE HEEEEROOOOOOOOOO'S SHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADE!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

  1. Hero's Shade looks cool alright, but honestly he's vapid. Aside from his design he's the most generic if sensei you could possibly find. The Blade Brothers have character. They have layers man. Swiftblade writes books! Plus what's up with those brothers we never see? And is the dead one really a brother? Why does he have the same name as another one of the siblings? Real mysteries there, and thankfully not answered by fan pandering. Oni Dark Link 13:25, May 6, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I really don't know - Lúcia5454#8398

Votes for Hero's Shade[]

Vote here!

  1. While The Minish Cap holds a special place in my heart, the character design of the Hero's Shade is stellar. And I remember when he wasn't confirmed to be anyone! We had theories back then! Theories, I tell you! None of this "Hyrule Historia confirmed" crap! – Ceiling Master 03:07, May 6, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I think I'll go with the more well known character here. The Blade Brothers are mysterious, but Hero's Shade used to be too! Hyrule Historia, this was one theory you could've ignored. Green Rupee 21:04, May 6, 2019 (UTC)
  3. The Blade Brothers. All having a big ego, always thinking they're better than their brothers. They will never accept the fact that one of them is the best, and only one of them actually spends the time to teach Link multiple skills, while everyone else is lazy and only does ONE. The Hero's Shade on the other hand, is the only one who teaches Link the skills, and because his own name is Link, he is teaching his descendant. He also has the motive of passing on skills to ease his own "failures", and he is also most likely responsible for Wolf Link's watchful eye over BotW Link. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 20:45, May 11, 2019 (UTC)
  4. I personally didn't like the character design of the Hero's Shade. And he's pretty harsh with Link in the beginning of the game. The Blade brothers were cool and it was nice and refreshing to learn all the sword fighting skills from different sword masters. And one of them is a ghost, too! But what's greater than learning how to fight from no one other than the Hero of Time himself? I also loved the OoT/MM references throughout the game. Though it is a tough decision to make, the Hero's Shade gets my vote! - Hanna#0469
  5. I have no experience with either so idk - somothunder#3955
  6. I'm sorry! I just haven't played Minish Cap yet, so I'm going with the character that I know. Also he was pretty cool in Majora's Mask, and that's my favorite game, so yeah. Him. - ColdDragonmania

Week 183: Guardian (Breath of the Wild) vs. Guardian (Skyward Sword)[]

Guardian (Breath of the Wild)
"It's a tie!"

Guardian (Skyward Sword)
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 183rd battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two fearsome mechanical constructs that will hunt Link to the ends of Hyrule! Let's take a closer look!

In the blue corner we have the terrifying arachnoid killing machines that stalk across ruined Hyrule! Their ancient Sheikah technology allows them to fire lots of lengthy, lethal lasers! THIS. IS. GUAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRDIAAAAAAAAANNNNN!

In the gold corner we have the deadly inhabitants of the Silent Realm! A single swing of their powerful maces will instantly make Link rethink his decision to take these trials! THIS. IS. GUAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRDIAAAAAAAAANNNNN!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Guardian (Breath of the Wild)[]

Vote here!

  1. Skyward Sword Guardians are pretty forgettable, where'st Breath of the Wild's are some of the most iconic imagery in the game. Oni Dark Link 15:52, April 28, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I have a feeling this will be a bit of a blowout, but that doesn't mean I'll pity vote for the Skyward Sword Guardian. It's the legs, man. Spider legs are terrifying. – Ceiling Master 16:09, April 28, 2019 (UTC)
  3. The Skyward Sword Guardians should not be taken lightly. However, Breath of the Wild Guardians are more recognizable and more fun to encounter. Green Rupee 19:24, April 28, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for Guardian (Skyward Sword)[]

Vote here!

  1. I was just playing Din's Silent Realm today, and I also fought a BotW Guardian today, and I have to say- BotW's are at least killable, and with relative ease later on, but the best you can do in a Silent Realm is plan a route and hope. Also, SS's flying ones NEVER STOP CHASING YOU. Basically, here's a simulation. Seeing BotW Guardian: "HidehidehideHIDE" Seeing SS one: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA" Sorry for ranting. -User:ColdDragonmania
  2. Against the Guardians in Breath of the Wild, you have the ability to destroy them, whether you want to spam that Y button, or be a badass with your shield. Against the Skyward Sword Guardians, you're powerless. All you can do is run, and run, and run, but they'll eventually catch up, or corner you, and from there you'll have to start the trial all over. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 14:34, May 1, 2019 (UTC)
  3. he looks amazing - Spirit link

LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 182nd battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two strong, independent Gerudo leaders who don't need no man – literally! Male Gerudo don't have the greatest track record! Let's take a closer look!

In the coral corner we have the Sage of Spirit herself! Sporting jewels, a flamboyant ponytail, and some impressively pink hammer pants, she is bewitched by Twinrova and forced to fight Link in as an Iron Knuckle! THIS. IS. NABOOOOOOOOORUUUUUUUUUU!

In the gold corner we have a close friend to Princess Zelda, who wields her Scimitar of the Seven, Daybreaker shield, and the power of lightning with Urbosa's Fury! THIS. IS. URRRRBOOOOOOOSSSAAAAAAAAA!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Nabooru[]

Vote here!

  1. Some good fights and hard decisions these past few weeks, but I'm going to go with the OG Gerudo chieftan. She's actually one of the most interesting and complex characters in Ocarina of Time, and Iron Knuckles are an enemy that I really hope Nintendo brings back someday. – Ceiling Master 15:21, April 21, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Nabooru was brainwashed for 7 years. That's something not anyone can come away unscathed from. Green Rupee 17:59, April 21, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Urbosa is just a lame clone of Nabooru. Nothing can top Ocarina of Time's sages. This is why I have problems with Breath of the Wild's story. - AwdryFan1997

Votes for Urbosa[]

Vote here!

  1. While I do love a good Iron Knuckle, I've got to give it to Urbosa. She brings the Thunder. Oni Dark Link 15:12, April 21, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I'm a sucker for lightning. After all, I am a Thor fan, therefore that makes me an Urbosa fan... OK, I have more reasons than that. First off, she was a motherly figure to Zelda all the way until the end, being good friends with Zelda's mother. Secondly, her combat skills with a sword and shield are amazing, being one of the only two characters we see being able to perform a Perfect Guard. Thirdly, in comparison to Nabooru, she has a rather powerful ambition to destroy Ganon, even after death. Nabooru waited a short moment after death, while Urbosa waited 100 years. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 21:24, April 21, 2019 (UTC)
  3. There is nothing likable about Nabooru. I can't think of anything UNlikable about Urbosa! - User:ColdDragonmania
  4. she seems a whole lot powerful - Spirit link

Week 181: Fi vs. Midna[]

Midna
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 181st battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two of Link's companions, who guide him and aid him in his quest to save Hyrule! They both spend most of their time hidden, either in Link's sword or his shadow, but don't be deceived; they're both invaluable allies (and distinctly less annoying than another certain unnamed companion)! Let's take a closer look!

In the light blue corner we have Siri – err... the spirit of the Master Sword itself! Respectful and analytic, she develops a sense of humanity and emotion as Link's quest progresses, making the end of her story all the more tragic! THIS. IS. FFFFIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!

In the garnet corner we have the eponymous Twilight Princess! Cursed to appear as an imp, she is snarky and irreverent; however, she grows to care for Link and the people of Hyrule! THIS. IS. MMMMIIIIIDNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Fi[]

Vote here!

  1. I like Midna. I really do. But Fi was a special character to me; she never insults you, she's always with you, and the end of Skyward Sword is unbelievably bittersweet. The little "cameo" in Breath of the Wild filled me with joy, and I wouldn't be upset if she came back – or even if there were more Skyward Sword references in future games. – Ceiling Master 21:53, April 14, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I liked Midna, and her character development rivals that of Midna. While both were referenced in Breath of the Wild, Fi had more references and they were more powerful. I have to admit that seeing that reference caused me to geek out a bit, and because of that, I choose Fi over Midna. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 22:21, April 14, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Fi is just so great. She helps Link, never questioning him, even during seemingly pointless sidequests. Except when he sits on that one random stool!User:ColdDragonmania
  4. Fi and Midna are both LoZ companions I highly admire, but in a comparison between both of them, I would choose Fi, because I've always thought that the idea of her being like the humanistic embodiment of the Master Sword was pretty cool, and I kinda think her Spock-like humor is funnier than Midna's humor. - SpiderLinkSolo2018#9354

Votes for Midna[]

Vote here!

  1. Don't get me wrong, I like Fi, but I can't see myself voting for her over Midna. I can't quite put my finger on the exact reason... I'll just blame low batteries. Green Rupee 00:49, April 15, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Minda is less annoying and cooler than Fi, sorry --laatgag#3282
  3. Midna just has to be my favourite companion to this day. Yeah sure, she snaps at Link a lot and she doesn't even like him in the beginning.. but look at this character arc! She changes throughout the game as the story progresses and she genuinely starts caring abour Link, Zelda and all of Hyrule. The friendship that blossomed between her and Link is just beautiful, leading to the point where both of them become willing to sacrifice their lives for each other. Midna is sassy and has an attitude to beat. How could I not vote for her! - Hanna#0469
  4. It's my favorite character out of the two - WarlordDonkey137#8903
  5. Midna has sass. Fi tells you when your batteries are depleting. - iliarahl#3903
  6. The way you meet her is cool, and the bond you grow over the game is great. You can even find her helmet in BotW! (With DLC, I think it’s a mask but whatevs) - IPhoneUnboxing
  7. Fi is lame - Somothunder#3955

Week 180: Groose vs. Revali[]

Revali
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 180th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two immensely powerful warriors that are both clearly superior to Link! Both of them graciously allow the so-called hero to save the day, but don't forget that it would be impossible without the aid of these two gentlemen! Let's take a closer look!

In the teal corner we have the rightful winner of the Wing Ceremony! He bravely departs Skyloft to begin his adventure, discovering a hidden world beneath the clouds that will forever be known as Grooseland! THIS. IS. GROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!

In the indigo corner we have the Champion of the Rito people in Hyrule! He was able to pilot the Divine Beast Vah Medoh with ease, and could totally defeat Calamity Ganon without Link's help! THIS. IS. RRREEEVAAAAAAALIIIIIII!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Groose[]

Vote here!

  1. My man Groose is a walking, talking pompadour, and I absolutely love it. He single-handedly invented the mobile, on-rails catapult, and even made it safe for human use! Nothing can stop the founder of Grooseland. – Ceiling Master 19:09, April 6, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Was there ever The Legend of Revali? No. Was there ever The Legend of Groose? Yes indeed, and it's by far the best legend so far. What has Revali done? Shoot arrows... and I'm pretty sure everyone can do that too. What has Groose done? Make the Groosenator and take on The Imprisoned! Now that's what I'm talking about! --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 20:05, April 6, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Groose sounds like goose – laatgag#3282
  4. For me, it's Goose over Ravioli, haha. I really love Groose's theme! And that leap of faith cutscene in Skyward Sword makes him get my vote. Groose was either hella brave or just really stupid to do it -- probably both, I love it! - Hanna#0469
  5. Goose honestly has the best redemption arc I've ever seen. Except Peridot. Peridot is just too the best for that. - ColdDragonmania
  6. Groose is a God. One of the Dieties of old in human form. Many have worshipped him in his religion; Groosianity. One of the best darn personalities in the early timeline!--

Votes for Revali[]

Vote here!

  1. A vote against Revali is just... asinine. Green Rupee 19:41, April 6, 2019 (UTC)
  2. There isnt really a better option here. They are both cocky and good fliers. The only thing is that revali has wings unlike goose who needs his bird. Thats why i chose revali over goose. – Somothunder#3955
  3. Cuz revali is a legitimant warrior and a groose can’t really do much. – realguyKKORD
  4. Revali has a better design and actually strives hard to improve his skills. Groose is just lowkey dumb – Palink#5149
  5. he best champion - cyko x phantom#7721
  6. Because i think he is stronger -Xander💯#7450
