Tower of Spirits
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 189th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two dastardly dungeons that Link must traverse a truly obnoxious number of times! They're both packed with Phantoms, so prepare yourselves for the worst! Let's take a closer look!

In the lavender corner we have the thirteen-floored structure on Mercay Island! It's cursed by Bellum (a B-list villain that isn't Vaati or Ganondorf), and the eponymous Ocean King is in danger! Better listen to those spooky skeletons if you want to survive! THIS. IS. THE TEEEEEEEMMMMMMPLLLLLE OF THE OOOOOOOOOOCEAN KIIIIIIIIINNGGGG!

In the tan corner we have the thirty-floored mega-tower in the center of New Hyrule! It's the lock that holds down Malladus (another B-list villain that isn't Vaati or Ganondorf), and Ajean holds its fragments in place! Hope you liked Tears of Light from Twilight Princess, 'cause there's a lot of 'em! THIS. IS. THE TOOOOOOOOOOOOOWEEEEEEEER OF SPIIIIIRIIIIIIIITSSSSS!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Temple of the Ocean King[]

  1. Everything is much more difficult in the Temple of the Ocean King without the Phantom Sword. Compared to the Phantoms in the ToS, the Phantoms in the TotOC are arguably more dangerous. Talk about having a fast-moving Red Phantom, or the teleporting Yellow Phantom that doesn't spend some time doing a cringy teleporting animation, or the fact that it looks more menacing than the ones in the ToS. The puzzles are harder, you have a time limit to worry about and there are some hidden traps. Yes, you can kill the Phantoms here, but with no Phantom Sword, it takes time to learn how to do it, ESPECIALLY in the beginning of the game, when you can't stun them. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 19:04, June 9, 2019 (UTC)
  2. The Temple of the Ocean King is a pain. But pain builds character! I'll admit, I don't remember much of the Tower of Spirits, so a more memorable dungeon (for better or for worse) gets the vote in my book! – Ceiling Master 21:37, June 10, 2019 (UTC)
  3. I don’t remember either of these. Temple of Ocean King sounds much scarier though. – somothunder#3955
  4. I've got a thing for Phantom Hourglass. Temple of the Ocean King isn't as bad as people say it is to me. – Magicmason1000

  1. I still haven't finished this one (my DS is at this very moment in sleep mode on the last visit), but I like it more. No time limit's a big part of it. I'm glad I got my suggestion on here, and I'm sad to see this go. This might be the last ToC fight on Zeldapedia, or overall, and if so, I'm glad it was mine. Bye, Zeldapedia. Sorry if this link to me doesn't work. -ColdDragonmania
  2. I like both dungeons enough for what they do. The Tower of Spirits just edges out the Temple of the Ocean King for me. Green Rupee 06:17, June 11, 2019 (UTC)

LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 188th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two locations that require our hero to soar through the skies to access! Which one of these devilish dungeons will defy the other? Which tricky trial will triumph?! Let's take a closer look!

In the green corner we have what's left of the Oocca civilization! This sprawling city floats above the clouds of Hyrule, and is only accessible by... cannon? Seriously? Is that how the ancient Hylians went up there, too? Ahem, anyway! It's covered by overgrown vines and filled with enemies – and also a cute little shop! THIS. IS. THE CIIIIIIITYYYY IIIIIIIN THE SKYYYYYYYY!

In the blue corner we have an enormous bird-like construct originally piloted by the Rito Champion Revali! It spreads its wings and terrorizes the skies above Rito Village until Link is able to defeat Windblight Ganon! It's full of Ganon GooTM, tough puzzles, and rushing wind! THIS. IS. VVVVVVAAAAAAAAAAAH MMMMMMEEEDOOOOOOOOOOOH!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

  1. Two words: Clawshot and Argorok. The coolest item in Twilight Princess, paired with the coolest boss in Twilight Princess – sign me up! You get double Clawshots, man! That's all there is to it! – Ceiling Master 14:59, June 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. Not my favorite TP dungeon but much more memorable than Vah Medoh. RedeadhunterRedeadContributions Edits 21:25, June 2, 2019 (UTC)
  3. It wasn't my favorite dungeon in TP but there's no denying how inspired it was. Plus, can't go wrong with double clawshots! zooom zoooom – #6584
  4. Biased opinion again, haha. I beat the game numerous times, and this dungeon is one of the places that scared me the most in Twilight Princess. The soundtrack terrified me as a kid and even though this dungeon is not my favourite, it was definitely memorable. Yay for double clawshots! Also: pitfalls... pitfalls everywhere... – Hanna#0469

Votes for Vah Medoh[]

Vote here!

  1. I initially thought I'd be voting for City in the Sky when I made this suggestion. However, Vah Medoh gives off a feeling of being up in the air and flying over Hyrule better than the other dungeon. That's a valuable trait in Breath of the Wild, especially in a world of hundreds of shrines that all look the same. Green Rupee 23:27, June 2, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I can't even figure out how to finish the City in The Sky yet. Medoh has the best reward of all the Divine Beasts. Sorry to the fans of the Ooccaa I guess? -User:ColdDragonmania
  3. There's one thing stopping me from liking the City in the Sky... it's the freaking annoying, repetitive, Mario-jumping-esque music that constantly plays over and over again! Vah Medoh on the other hand is just... there with decent music. Besides, what's more rewarding? Double Clawshots, or something that can literally make you fly? --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 17:28, June 9, 2019 (UTC)
  4. it is a divine beast. – luna prodigyespon

Trial of the Sword
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 187th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have another set of incredibly difficult challenges set before us! Let's take a closer look!

In the tan corner we have a fifty-floored dungeon in the middle of Gerudo Desert! Fight your way through the grueling combat to be rewarded with the Great Fairy's Tears! The reward is tears? That's a shame; plenty of those were produced along the way! THIS. IS. THE CAAAAAAAVE OF OOOOOORRDEEEEEEEEEALLSSS!

In the blue corner we have a massive Shrine-like dungeon with forty-five rooms of its own! Hope you liked Eventide Island, because no weapons or armor is a doozy! THIS. IS. THE TRIIIIIIIIAL OF THE SWOOOOOOOOOOOOOORD!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Cave of Ordeals[]

Vote here!

  1. I have more fond memories of this place than I do of the Trial of the Sword. The Cave of Ordeals just feels like the right choice. Green Rupee 23:03, May 26, 2019 (UTC)
  2. What can I say? I'm a sucker for the desert aesthetic. Breath of the Wild is full of the bluey-gooey Shrine vibe, but the Cave is a no-nonsense, do-or-die slugfest that lasts for fifty foe-fightin' floors! – Ceiling Master 01:05, May 27, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Got to say: I haven't finished either. But at least the Cave made me feel that I was making progress! -ColdDragonmania
  4. I've died more times at the Cave of Ordeals than I have at the Trial of the Sword... I actually died zero times at the Trial of the Sword. Cave of Ordeals is more challenging, yet more fun to play. I also still can't get over the fact that the TotS is behind a (unnecessary) pay wall. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 12:52, May 29, 2019 (UTC)
  5. Biased opinion, obviously. It's been about a decade since I beat the Cave of Ordeals but boy, I do remember the struggle. I honestly don't know how many attempts it took me to finally make it to the end. Also, I've heard the TotS are locked behind a paywall, which is kind of annoying as well. – Hanna#0469

LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 186th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have two Zora monarchs that are both more agile than the King from Ocarina of Time – and one of them is dead, for Din's sake! Let's take a closer look!

In the maroon corner we have the father of Mipha and Sidon, and the author of the Zora Stone Monuments! He single-handedly took down a stray Guardian in his younger days, and watches over the eastern reservoir to keep Hyrule from flooding! THIS. IS. KIIIIING DOOOOORRRREEEPHAAAAANNNN!

In the reddish-brown corner we have the mother of Prince Ralis, and the ghost of the Zora Queen! She stood strong against Zant, opposing his rule even to the point of execution! What a dark story for a Nintendo game! THIS. IS. QUEEEEENN RUUUUUUTEEEELLLLAAAAAAAAA!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for King Dorephan[]

  1. Neither of them really had much impact on me... Buuuuut... Dorephan is Mipha's father, so he's cool by association. – ColdDragonmania

Votes for Queen Rutela[]

Vote here!

  1. With one of the more bittersweet storylines in the Legend of Zelda series, Rutela has a bit more character to me than Dorephan did. Her relationship with Ralis, the secluded area where her and her husband's graves are found, and the Serenade of Water thrown into the mix actually makes her one of my favorite characters from Twilight Princess. – Ceiling Master 16:58, May 19, 2019 (UTC)
  2. This one's pretty simple... I like Rutela's character more. Her character went really well with the overall tone of the game. Green Rupee 03:05, May 20, 2019 (UTC)
  3. She's better designed – jj
  4. I really liked Queen Rutela's character design, as well as her theme in the soundtrack. I remember that ten year old me was genuinely sad to learn about her passing when I played Twilight Princess for the first time. Compared to her, King Dorephan is just a massive fish sitting on a throne. – #0469

Week 185: Gyroscope Shrines vs. Water Temple[]

Water Temple
LLLLLLLLLLAAAAADDIIEEEESSSS AAANND GGEEEEENNTLLEMMEENNNNNN!!! Welcome to the 185th battle in the one and only TEMPLE. OF. CCOOOOOOOOOOOUUUUUUUURRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGE! This week, we have an assortment of frustrating, difficult, tear-out-your-hair, controller-throwing challenges! Let's take a closer look!

In the orange corner we have some of the Sheikah Shrines that appear throughout Hyrule! You might expect a fun puzzle or a strong enemy, but no! To your horror, you see the apparatus that signifies the use of motion controls! How badly do you want all 120 Shrines completed? THESE. ARE. GGGGGYYRRRROOOOSSSSSCOPE SHRIIIIIIIIINES!

In the blue corner we have the classic example of a difficult dungeon! Get ready to equip those Iron Boots, because you'll get that sinking feeling when you realize the depth of this temple's challenge! THIS. IS. THE WAAAAAAAATTTTEEEEEEER TEEEEMMMMMPLLLLLE!

Without any further ado, LLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEEEET'S GET RRRRRREEEEEEEAAAAADYYYYYYY TOOO RRRRRRRRRRRRUUMMMMMMMMMBBLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLEEE!!!

Votes for Gyroscope Shrines[]

Vote here!

  1. The Water Temple is notorious for those god-awful Iron Boots, but haven't we forgotten about the 3DS remaster and how it fixed the Iron Boots problem? Besides, is it that difficult to memorize the Water Temple? I mean, the only challenge is when you're playing Master Quest, because there are so many damn Stalfos. Other than that... this is a pretty easy temple. Compare that to Gyroscope Shrines in BotW. Have you ever considered trying to solve them while playing JUST on the Wii U GamePad? How about playing it in Handheld mode on the Nintendo Switch? Better yet, play it in VR mode. You'll get sick after moving your head around. Even better, play with the Wii U Pro Controller. That thing has no Gyroscope, so good luck trying to complete it. Pausing constantly is gimmicky, but you'll get over it pretty easily, not to mention if you're playing the remaster, you won't have to worry. Having mechanic flaws is the definition of bad, and you have to do this in 3 Shrines, plus the 4 DLC Shrines. --Nathan_The_Asian332 (talk) 02:43, May 18, 2019 (UTC)

Votes for Water Temple[]

Vote here!

  1. The Water Temple is a real challenge. Motion controls can be finicky, but this bad boy of a dungeon was designed to make players smash their TV screens. No hand-holding in the original! – Ceiling Master 18:58, May 12, 2019 (UTC)
  2. I cannot vote for motion controls in good conscience. The gyroscopes felt like a hollow challenge. The Water Temple is cool and a fun dungeon. Green Rupee 00:09, May 13, 2019 (UTC)
  3. Motion controls can be some of the best parts of a game when done right. That's why Skyward Sword is my second favorite game! I do find, however, that if poorly executed, motion controls can ruin everything. That's probably why so many people hate Skyward Sword. I hate the water temple, especially Morpha, but it's at least better than those shrines. – ColdDragonmania
  4. just pain in the a** – horst
  5. water temple alwayss wins – 5110
  6. (Biased opinion, since I haven't gotten very far in BotW): To be honest, it's been about 15 years since I played OoT. I was a bit young, but my brother still let me play the game with him. He obviously let me do the easier parts only. The Water Temple was NOT one of them. It even drove him crazy! Gotta brace myself for a lot of frustration and rage, as I'm planning on playing it again sometime soon! – Hanna#0469
