Biography[]
Spoiler warning: Plot or ending details follow.
When Link first arrives on Dragon Roost Island, he can find a tunnel leading to the other side of the island. There, he finds a small, separate body of rock featuring two monuments honoring the deities, Cyclos and Zephos. On Zephos's shrine, there are inscribed conductor's notes for a song called the "Wind's Requiem", which allows Link to control the direction of the wind using the Wind Waker.
Upon Link's first playing of the song, Zephos appears from the heavens and compliments him on changing the wind, he then explains that Link has become the new "Waker of the Winds". He also informs Link of his tempestuous brother, Cyclos, who is causing trouble throughout the Great Sea with the use of cyclones, because of the damage to his monument. Zephos then gives Link his blessing and ascends back into the heavens, never to be seen again in the game.
