Zirros are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series. They are winged mushrooms and have two skinny legs.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past[]

They are found in Ice Lake, the Dark World equivalent of Lake Hylia. Zirros come in green and blue colors; the blue ones are more durable, but the green ones drop explosive projectiles on Link as they attack. Both of them will fly backwards rapidly after he swings his sword. Link can hit them more easily if he approaches them with his sword drawn, since they only retreat from swings. They are also extremely vulnerable to the hookshot.

The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds[]

Zirros return and have the same attacks as in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. They will chase Link if he is up their ground level. If Link goes away from them, their pursuit will be ceased making them similar to Crows. Blue Zirros now need one attack from Link's weapons. Blue Zirros however will use snowballs to freeze Link.

Etymology[]

Their Japanese name, „KURÎPΓ, is the same one used for Bombers, similar enemies from The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, indicating that the two are related if not the same.
