The Zora Scale is a recurring item in the Legend of Zelda series.


The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages

Link receives the Zora Scale from one of the Zora after he defeats Plasmarine, releasing the Rolling Sea from Jabu-Jabu's Belly. Possession of the Zora Scale identifies him as the Zoras' hero, and gives him permission to enter the ring of Whirlpools in the Sea of Storms. Once there, he boards the Pirate Ship and meets Cap'n. After giving the captain the Zora Scale, he gives Link the Tokay Eyeball and sets sail for Holodrum.

The Zora Scale treasure

The Zora Scale is one of the game's Treasures. Link can sell it to the Treasure Teller on Mercay Island for a random but fixed number of Rupees. It is also considered very valuable by members of the Ho Ho Tribe.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes

Zora Scales appear as Material items used to create clothes at Madam Couture's Shop. It is described as a scale that grows as a Zora grows and the one's Link finds in the game are considered enormous. It is one of the Materials required to create the Zora Costume.

Hyrule Warriors/Legends

Princess Ruto's Scale her Gold Material from Hyrule Warriors

The Zora Scale appears as Princess Ruto's default weapon. With it, she can summon water and use it to damage enemies. There is also unique type of Zora Scale called Ruto's Scales also appear as Princess Ruto's Gold Material drop (representing Ruto's own shed scales).
